This cam as a recommendation while in town. It is attached to the famous Leopold Bookstore and coffee/bar. Small parking lot out in front. Traditional old school Italian vibes inside. Wasn't too busy when we arrived at 6pm or so on a Sunday but business quickly picked up. We ordered the romaine wedge, chicken vesuvio and gnocci. Service was super friendly, helpful and attentive. At the end of the meal we had the tiramisu. All items were delicious. However the tiramisu did not seem "soaked" enough and was rather dry. We might not order that again. They ran out of the fennel salad but the table next to us had it and said it was delicious so we will def try that next time. The wedge and entrees were ample portions and delicious. We will def come back.

Fabiola's was so disappointing!!! All of the food was mediocre at best. The drinks were just ok. The service was average. And the ambiance is nice, but very loud and hard to hear the person across from you. We won't be going back. Cute spot that missed the mark.

Had dinner at Fabiola's the other night. I really dig the vibe in there. Sat at the bar and the bartender, Maya, was a pro. Started with the orange and fennel salad w watermelon radish and apricot dressing. Outstanding. Next, had the linguine vongole. Their Manila clams were next level. Amazing texture, sweetness, and a ton of them in the dish. If you haven't gone, go check it out. This is an amazing addition to the Italian dining scene in Madison.

A cute diner connected to a fun bookstore/bar! I found the vibes to be cute, but the food to be average. They have prompt service and even bring in a piano player for dinner vibes. I'm glad I checked it off my list and will def be back for leopolds and the tiramisu.

Oh my goodness...where do I begin?! This place is AMAZING! Except for the parking situation, that is. But the incredible service makes up for it, as well as the delicious food! My friend and I needed a night out, so we decided on Fabiola's Spaghetti House for dinner. To start, I ordered a Phony Negroni (pregnancy problems) and my friend ordered what I REALLY wanted - the Pistachio Cream Ale. For a NA drink, however, the Phony Negroni did hit the spot. For our entrees, I opted for the chicken parmesan, and my friend got the spicy penne alla vodka. I tried a bite of hers, and it was very tasty, and had a kick for sure! The chicken parm was incredible, and I could seriously eat nothing else for the rest of my life and be beyond content. Absolutely delicious! It was honestly perfect in every way. It was crispy fried, cheesy, with just the right amount of marinara sauce. The garlic flavors were present in every bite. I am a big fan of broccolini, so I was thrilled to see that was the seasonal vegetable. I definitely plan to return with my husband for date night.

I had a lovely experience at Fabiola's on a Thursday night. My drinks and food were delicious. Highlights of the menu for me were the ricotta gorgonzola gnocchi and the sunday salad. The bread basket was a nice addition, and I liked my sister's alfredo as well. Potatoes were good but needed a touch of salt. Highly recommend any of their spritzes!! Our server was so kind and knowledgeable too. Will definitely return.

Awesome expresso and pastries. Wide array of delicious sandwiches. Love the retro vibe of the dining room. Try the Sfogliatelle Italian pastry! This crisp, yet tender pastry is incredibly decedent and different. It is pronounced soy-ya-dell.

A non alcoholic lavender infused spritzer. Pure art watching him make it.

We've eaten here a few times. Wow!! I crave their food. The menu is well thought out and lots of choices that will keep us coming back. The staff is always one step ahead knowing what you may need and very personable. If you can sit at the bar. The seats are super comfy and to watch the bar tenders work their magic is a work of art. Don't see it on the menu?? Ask... they can accommodate your craving.

While they seem to be known for their sandwiches, and for good reason, they have a lot of great artisanal items rooted in Italian cooking. This includes oils, wines, sauces, spices, treats and more. The "more" also includes fresh-made pasta, hand cut meats and cheeses, gelato and a few other absolutely delish items! Back to that sandwich...we were not hungry, but could not pass up a good sandwich, especially one freshly made on locally sourced and baked bread! The bread was the absolutely star of each bite, I mean...sheesh! The sandwich in full was great, and definitely worth the stop in on its own. The store itself is small, but mighty, and well laid out, stocked with all the goods, flows well, clean and in great condition. Service was stellar as well. We were greeted upon entry, checked on while browsing and chatted up while being rang out. Overall, solid spot for a ready-made meal, a special ingredient, a tasty sandwich, fresh pasta, charcuterie or just to wander around in!

I had the prosciutto sandwich and my SO had the pastrami and both had nothing but good things to say as we ate. The prosciutto sandwich had balsamic that had just started to soak into the otherwise crunchy bread, with these big chunks of mozzarella and the freshest tomatoes and greens. Alimentari itself is this awesome little deli/grocer with both bagged pastas AND FRESH PASTA/antipasti available to buy, as well as all sorts of goods, breads, coffees, chocolates, beverages and a whole wine selection. Beware that there is no seating inside but definitely do not let this dissuade you from visiting.

The turkey was a hot sandwich while the classic was a cold. The location itself is small, feels like a hole in the wall bar with great cozy vibes. We were lucky enough to bike over on a nice day and so we sat in the outdoor space which is also small but got the job done before we were back on our bikes with happy bellies. But if you were open to just having a nice casual dinner in a retro easy place, this is it. My fiance and I went to meet up with some friends from out of town and from a list of places I wanted to try, they chose this one. Between the two of us, we spent about $60 for this meal, which I suppose now adays is on par with what you can get away with. We also left with half a sandwich because honestly, these guys are huge! -Hot Beef Sando with Cheese (extra): this was a massive sandwich, packed with flavor. The ah jus was on the side and needed for dunking. It hit the spot, was a messy affair, but was very good. The meat wasn't melt in your mouth, it was actually quite dry, but the mix of everything together and the dip made it good overall. - Chili Cup: well spiced, super small cup and charging a dollar for each addition of onion, cheese, and sour cream is murder. Pass on the fixings, the soup doesn't need it, but it's not something i'd get again as it wasn't knock out of the park good. -Homemade Orange Soda: this was great. I love the nostalgia of using Tang and it was more earthy because they put some spices in it. Overall, would get again. -Coleslaw was asian inspired and made well, especially with the mint on top. Be warned though, its the same slaw on the pulled chicken...which speaking of: -Pulled chicken sandwich: It's their meat americanized fusion version of a banh mi. I know they have a vegan one on their menu, but this one felt less like a sandwich. The spices weren't quite asian tho and was interesting with the slaw. I wouldn't say it was my favorite but I did eat a whole half. Happy nomming!
