Who knows how long I have been looking at this place when coming home through Maddison Wi so I finally decided to stop and get lunch since it was around 1 ish and I was thinking of stopping. They offer a lot of sandwiches, meals etc etc and take and bake items like pastas, sauces, sausages, etc etc. you get a 6% discount if you pay with cash the sign at the register says. I ordered two small sandwich's to go with one Sicilian and one pastrami because I was going to have one for lunch and one later for dinner. I was shocked when I opened them up to see very thin/little meat on the sandwich's and one thin tomato slice in the middle of the sandwich's. This has got to be the skimpiest sub sandwich's that I can remember getting from a deli, seriously if I wanted a loaf of bread I would have bought a loaf of bread. I feel completely ripped off and like I spent almost $11 for a small loaf of bread, see my pictures please.

We stopped off on our road trip and this little Italian joint did not disappoint. It had a great selection and was very fast service. The food tasted really great too!

This spot is top notch on the sandwich game. I work for a nearby company and will manufacture reasons to go to this side of town on lunch on Tuesdays so I can stop and get this sandwich. They're always quick with service and friendly when I go. The Tuesday Special is a grilled chicken sandwich with a delicious creamy garlic sauce, tomato, green onions and provolone. It's not pretty, it's not fancy, but it's delicious. No joke this is probably my top sandwich in Madison, and at $4.99 the price is RIGHT!

He was so sweet and informative. Went through the menu and described everything in such detail. My friend and I were visiting Madison for work and he offered us so many options to fill our free time. He takes so much pride in everything and it shows. The ambiance of the restaurant is a little on the nicer side, but they do allow casual attire. 10/10 recommend and can't wait to come back for the wine flight with the in house Somm.

Drip coffee was delicious to start. I had the lobster fettuccine and there was PLENTY of lobster in it. Pasta tasted fresh and it hit the spot! Some of our party got the French toast which looked amazing and I'll probably try next time-- peaches and pecans with it! A few of them ordered bacon on the side too and it came with plenty of it, 3-4 long strips. Cannoli was the pastry I chose and it was the perfect sweet treat. Filling had cinnamon and was dipped in pistachios, which I will be back for! Ella was our server-- simply amazing! Super attentive, knows the menu like the back of her hand, and went above and beyond for us many times. Michael was one of the hosts who went out of his way to practically give us a photo shoot to capture my friend's special day. Beautiful restaurant with an elevated feel. Open environment while still making the table feel private. They were piping pastries while we were there which was fun to see. Went on a summer Saturday around 11, and if you're from Madison, you know that means the farmer's market (aka, make a plan A/B/C for parking, plan plenty of time to get there and be patient with the crowd outdoors).

But once you walk in, it's a completely different story. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, helpful, and had actually been to Rome, which made the conversation more interesting and added a nice touch of authenticity. And the food? Way beyond what we expected. Everything was well done and felt like a real step up from what the exterior might lead you to believe. You can feel the history in this up close, the statue at the entrance of the Trevi Fountain almost pulls you in before you even realize what you're looking at. The detail is incredible, even with the wear and mineral buildup from years of flowing water, it actually adds to the character. Standing there, tossing a coin over your left shoulder, it's one of those moments that feels a little touristy... until you do it. Then it just feels right. Like you're taking part in something that's been going on for generations. Simple tradition, but a pretty cool one. This place is a bit of a hidden gem. If you haven't been, it's absolutely worth checking out.

The mushroom pasta dish (tagliatelle) was definitely the stand out of our meal. While the budino was delicious, I didn't get the butterscotch flavors as it was noted in the menu. It almost tasted more like pumpkin and cinnamon. Warm fresh bread and the traditional cesear salad were delicious. I really liked my white sangria but my husband didn't care for his barrel aged Negroni. Love the tiles behind the bar and the history of this classic place.

We visited for a date night and even though it wasn't busy there were a few times I was without water and due to the layout of the restaurant and where we were seated we couldn't flag anyone down. For food, we avoided the pasta due to the reviews and ordered other items instead. The calamari was surprisingly good even though it looks frozen, it was cooked absolutely perfectly which is hard for calamari so I was very impressed. The porto salad was delicious, and reminded me of a supper club salad. The pizza (That's A Spicy) was the best part, as I love a crunchy and thin crust pizza and there were so many toppings. The tiramisu for dessert was also fantastic. Definitely a great date night spot.

Three of us sorted the small Portabella salad and one of us sorted the Caesar salad. The salads are always great, especially the portobello salad with the buttermilk all dressing. It's a staple! Three of us ordered the Garibaldi sandwich. I ordered mine with jalapeños. We had another order with the hot banana peppers and the third order with no peppers at all. The bread was toasted perfectly along with the sesame seeds on top of the bread. Everyone loved Garibaldi. My granddaughter ordered the manicotti with a Alfredo sauce and a red sauce. The three of us took a bite of it and it was absolutely great. They also serve some nice French bread with butter. The atmosphere here is really nice and quaint. The service was excellent.
