Fabric Barn is a great place to go if you are trying to decorate for your wedding or quinceniera, but I've been disappointed that they changed the store about a year ago and now all the ribbons and trims they carry seem to cater ONLY to these markets. They used to have a decent selection of nice ribbons like the variegated french style ribbons, and some unusual sheer ribbons. Now everything seems to be cheap satin and grosgrain ribbons, plus holiday themed stuff. I also don't like the new setup with the bins everywhere rather than the old cutting tables with the spools above - it cut their inventory in half at least, which may be why they got rid of the nicer stuff. They also no longer seem to carry the nicer holiday themed fabrics. It's a great store if you're looking for cheap ribbon, but if you want something unusual look online. read more

While the staff could use some customer service training, and the parking can be challenging, especially on the weekends, I wouldn't go anywhere else for ribbon, cello bags, bridal and shower favor makings, lace etc. They also do custom printing on ribbons and napkins. I just ordered some on Saturday and they will be ready on Tuesday. I have shopped in the fabric district and have never found a better deal than here. Tulle is $16. a bolt! That's for 40 yards! And I love making bows out organza and it's only $2.25 a roll. They are a great place for inexpensive balloon bouquets as well. Definitely worth checking out. read more

These guys never stay open during their stores at ours. It seems like they just close whenever they feel like it. Not very reliable.

I love this place. The prices are way better than the chain craft stores. They sell everything but you have to come prepared to look from aisle to aisle. I could not find any yellow pipe cleaners that I needed for a project but I was lucky enough to get the last one. The lady was so nice that she went to the back storage area and gr abed me the last one. Parking is not that great but just get there early. They open at 7am. This place is so worth coming and you sure can't beat these prices. Ribbon with personalized writing is way cheap, baby shower centerpieces are nice. Love it!! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE ! seriously you have to stop by here before you try to go to michaels or joans. You'll save yourself tons of money ! The ribbon is insanely cheap! Theres tons of other craft things here, I always come here to get ideas for halloween costumes, they have great holiday things ! Its usually always perfectly stocked ! Check it out !!! why is this place called what it is? the joint is known for RIBBON. i hadn't been in several months, and i was dismayed to walk in last weekend to find that the whole store had been rearranged - and not for the better, if you ask me. i was already bummed over having to make the long drive for the second time in a week, since i'd arrived on monday (labor day) only to find that that was one of the handful of holidays they observed. LABOR DAY, fabric barn? really?? ugh. at least you could list the holidays that you're closed on that shitty little website you have. the ribbon used to be displayed neatly on racks, and you could snip off a little piece and request it by the yard or by the spool. now, it's only by the spool and it's mostly a self-serve situation now. i suppose that makes it easier and faster for the staff, but i'm resistant for now. although it still has a couple of things that saves it - the massive selection of colors and styles and widths of ribbon in different materials, and the rock-bottom pricing. for those reasons alone, i'll keep coming back. from glendora. yeah. read more

They have a fantastic selection of satin ribbon (various widths), grosgrain ribbon (various widths), tulle, trims, some lace, rat tail, webbing and more. They have great bags and boxes for party favors and weddings. This is one of my favorite go to crafting places and party planning spots. read more

Who knows what thy have in here, it may be amazing. Don't care anymore. I call to verify they're open until 6:30 and that they have exactly what I need, they say yes. 6:15 the doors are locked, I call and they ask me multiple questions about what I need, tell me they have it, but hat they close at 6:30. I even told them, 'I'm standing outside your front door...' Her response was 'ummmmm' seriously? I get closing up a bit early, but when it's 15 minutes before, I'm standing outside, and you're wasting my time asking me questions that have already been answered, questions I asked before I drove across town!! You won't even let me in to spend $50 on ONE item? I tried to use a local shop, my business unfortunately now goes to Walmart. read more

Love this place! Don't bother going to the generic fabric stores, you're wasting money there. I was so excited to walk into fabric barn and see the huge selection and amazing prices. Found this fabric I needed to make a headboard (heavyweight with a soft cotton backing) for $6 a yard.. The other stores were asking for $25 a yard! The ladies who work here were so helpful and sweet, an added bonus to the overall experience. read more

This place has affordable prices and a big selection of craft items. The customer service is lacking. I called the store early afternoon and ask what time they closed. The lady who answers the phone says 6:30pm. I drive over there and arrive at 6:20. I know I'm cutting it close but I tried my best. The lady tells me they are closed. "Um, your sign says 6:30pm it is 6:20." The cashier then tells me "do you know what you are going to buy? Hurry up." I rush to get my items, I take no more than 3 minutes. At 6:25pm they lock the doors and don't let any other customers in. A saw a couple of people approaching the store just to find out the door was locked at 6:25, looking at the time on their phone confused. Say you're going to close your store at 6:20pm not 6:30pm that way your employees can clock out at 6:30pm...weirdest business practice. read more

I hate to do this, but I've got to downgrade this place. I've been here three times in the last couple of months, and they appear to be out of stock of everything I need. I've been doing sewing projects with my niece, and we needed webbing for tote handles and satin cord and binding, and every time I come they are out of most of the colors, and there is no one to help. I just went there today and boy, was I disappointed. I had started coming here 3 years ago for my own wedding stationery business, and I was super impressed when I first started going. They used to have a wall FULL of ribbon by the yard, in addition to the spools that were sold in bulk for super cheap... Their wall of ribbon by the yard was of HIGH quality single-faced and double-faced satin. And I've gone there for ribbon every few months when I needed spools for last minute projects. Today, I went back, and noticed that they revamped the whole place, which is fine, with their increased popularity, BUT they also took down the wall of high quality ribbon by the yard and is now stocking a bunch of the cheapest ribbon spools available in the market. Yes, they are super cheap, but their selection is now quite limited compared to last year. I now live in San Diego, and I only drove up to Fabric Barn for a "satin ribbon emergency" (the quantity I needed was unavailable locally and online). They didn't even have the dark chocolate satin 7/8" ribbon I needed, which they used to stock last year in large quantities, and its quality is not exactly great, but it will do since I needed it today. I wound up getting the wired chocolate ribbon, which is a decent alternative. I am completely disappointed -- I used to come here all the time and now that I know the quality they have resorted to, I will no longer be getting my ribbon from this place and save gas. I would recommend for brides-to-be to get the really thin ribbons (which you can't go wrong with) or for someone who doesn't mind lesser quality items ... or if you are on a REALLY TIGHT BUDGET. Other than that, I would suggest getting your ribbon online and pay the extra shipping for better quality (for brands like Offray). Or drive up to the fashion district in LA. I would have given this place an extra star for their past greatness, but I'm also considering the lack of parking and the fact that they stopped doing their early morning discounts. Although this is a negative review, I do run an invitation business, and so I tend to be more picky (and I've worked with all types of materials from different places), but don't get me wrong, Fabric Barn still has a ton of ribbons available. Don't let the name fool you. They no longer carry a large selection of fabric. There is another place I got for that. This place should be named "Ribbon, Trim, Froo-froo and all Kinds Of Shit" They have the best and cheapest trim (not that kind, boys) ribbon, craft stuff, all kinds of shit. The stuff is made on the premises and if you venture toward the back it is reminiscent of a sweat shop, but it keeps the prices down. I make the funkiest hand painted tote bags, purses and shoe totes due to these folks. They have the ribbon for my bookmarks and faux fur, sequins, glitter, rhinestones, shells and all kinds of froo-froo to make my totes da bomb. If you craft professionally or just to enough to keep your sanity or to stay out of jail for killin' a m'fucka, you'll love this place. They also have a large selection of the stuff that weddings are made of. When my son finally finds a worthy mate, I'll drag the bitch here. It has been in the same location for years and is a classic. It is woman owned and operated, so support her. I don't know her personally, but I always support female businesses. cheap ribbon! rows and rows of cheap ribbon! I drive from Costa Mesa to get here and buy the ribbon. it's inexpensive and they have all sorts of colors. I was doing a sewing project where i needed a lot of ribbon so i came and bought 12 rolls for 4$ and they were 25yards per roll. At Jo-ann Fabric they charge 1$ something per yard so it was way cheap. The only bad thing is limited store hours. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars only because I went there expecting a large selection of fabric - hence the name Fabric Barn. Unfortunately, there were no more than 3 small rows of fabric. This place is FANTASTIC! I've been going for years and I'm really thrilled about the recent expansion and the new little Party Barn next door. They've gone back on forth over the years on fabric quantity (now they're getting more again) but they have an amazing selection (and prices) for trims, tulle, notions, feathers, party favors, holiday decorations, you name it. If you're planning a wedding be sure to stop here, they've got a wide selection just about everything you'll need, with much better prices than Michael's. (I do like Michael's for other supplies not available here.) They are generally pretty friendly, many times employees have been willing to "check in the back" for me when a display is out of a certain color---what more could you ask for? I've noticed a couple reviews that complain about lack of service or returns allowed, but what the heck do you want for those prices? If high maintenance is your thing, go somewhere more expensive where they can afford to cater to you and don't complain about the cost. read more
