The freezer portion of my way-out-of-warranty subzero fridge stopped working one day. I saw a sticker for Factor Appliance already on the door. The previous owner of the house must have called them before, so I did the same. Adrian came by to do the repair. He troubleshot and hypothesized it was one part that needed replacement, but after he started working on it, he quickly realized it was a different, less costly part replacement, so a very good surprise. Adrian was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He was also patient while I took the opportunity to wipe and vacuum the various panels and parts of the fridge while he had them conveniently disassembled since they probably hadn't been cleaned since...ever. The freezer compressor started running right after he changed out the part and has been at temperature ever since the visit. Went to put in another load of laudry when my dryer didn't work anymore. Doh! Decided to call Factor Appliance based on the reviews from Yelp. The next available appointment was the for following week, but I needed to confirm I can leave work early before taking the appointment. Bad idea! I called back a few hours later to schedule my appointment, the time slot was now gone, and the next appointment wasn't until the next day. If I ever need to use them again, I will definitely take the first appointment available! On the day of my appointment, Tyrone came at 2pm on the dot. He assessed the problem, went to get the new part at their facility, and was back in minutes to fix my dryer. However, it didn't work! He basically took the dryer apart and still couldn't get it to work, so he attributed it to a faulty (new) part. Of course they didn't have this part anymore so I had to schedule yet another appointment the following week! On the bright side, I didn't have to pay an additional cost for Tyrone to come out again. At my second appointment time, Tyrone came at the start of the appointment time. Before replacing the part yet again, he tried one thing he forgot to try (or I'm assuming he read up on the issue or asked a colleague) previously. Low and behold, that was the problem! After getting the part from their facility my dryer was fixed in two minutes! I wished this was figured out the week previously, but hey, I was glad it's fixed now. What I liked about Factor Appliance: -1.5 hour window (other companies gave me a 3-4 hour time window) -The fee charged to assess the problem (I believe it was $89) is applied to your final bill if you decide to use them -You receive an appointment confirmation and reminder via email -Tyrone, the technician who specializes in cooking, laundry, and dish appliances, was very knowledgeable, efficient, and good at what he does I highly recommend this company for appliance repair! read more

Factor Appliance was great, Adrain, the owner, was more than honest. We have a washer machine, only 2 years old, that has all the bells and whistles and tons of electronics. Adrian had 2 options, just replace the board ($300+) or try replacing a part which he thought was the culprit. $130 later all done. Works like a dream now.....and....he found a $100 bill under the washer while he was working (and me not watching) and promptly returned it to us. Very hard to find service like this these days. Thank God we found Factor Appliance! Where to start? 1. Fast! Adrian (the owner) took my call and immediately scheduled a next day service call for our fridge that had died. B&S, if you could even get past their service call gate keeper, was 10 days. Big Box Roebucks was even more maddening, telling us the initial call would be a diagnostic visit, and we would need to then schedule a follow up if we needed parts not on the truck. 2. Clean! Adrian used a poly vinyl board to ensure our fridge did not scratch our hardwoods when he pulled our fridge out to get behind it. He was careful not to track dirt in the house, and worked in a clean and organized fashion. 3. Honest! Adrian could have sold us a new compressor for hundreds more (and he had the parts on the truck to fix it then and there), but he diagnosed the problem as the most simple and cost effective fix... A relay. He was genuinely pleased for our good fortune in not needing the WAY more expensive repair. 4. Funny! What's Irish and bounces off walls? Rick O'Shea... Call him, you'll figure this one out. We laughed and laughed with Adrian as we shared stories of traveling around Ireland. Being Irish, Adrian enjoyed our tales of his homeland. 5. Great with pets! Adrian commented on our fat Tom cat, mentioning that he appeared to have a big appetite! (See comment on Funny). 6. Did I mention honest? I asked him if he could also service our A/C, and he said no, but found it frustrating how every A/C tech he's ever used always wanted to replace his unit... Even though he knows it just needs a few bits and bobs to be well running again. He gave us a rundown of what appliances should be fixed, and what appliances were built to be tossed when they broke. He gave us insight on what to look for when we decide to replace our aging dishwasher, and the differences between cheap, middle ground, and expensive refrigerators. Adrian was a true find, and we feel we are lucky to have found him. We hope to not see him anytime soon, but when we need him, we know he will take good care of us. read more

Factor Appliance and in particular their tech Godfried are outstanding. Godfried arrived promptly to fix our refrigerator that was making excessive noise. He diagnosed the problem immediately as the evaporator fan, had the replacement part on his truck and did a very careful and competent job of disassembling the freezer parts and replacing the fan. He even cleaned up the inside of the freezer compartment! As I said, Godfried is great and I highly recommend him if you need appliance repair. read more

Adrian of Factor Appliance has become my go-to provider for appliance repairs. I will never again wait in a 6 - 8 hour window for a large corporation's employee to arrive, only to have them tell me they don't have the right material, tool or piece to complete the job and will need to return on another date; or conduct a simple repair that only takes 5 minutes, but charge $150 because "that's the minimum fare". Adrian was not only efficient, he solved a problem that was plaguing my W/D for weeks and also solved an even larger problem that the manufacturer's employee said was normal (my dryer seemed to kick out a lot of lint). When Adrian got in and physically moved the unit, he saw the exhaust wasn't secure and lint was escaping. In addition to his expertise, his helpful and friendly nature made the entire experience enjoyable - which is far from typical. He is reasonably priced, explains everything he's going to do before he does it and gives an estimate (both money and time) upfront. Go with Adrian - you won't regret it. read more

Great experience. I called Adrian early on a Friday morning, we discussed the issue we were having with our dishwasher. He clearly explained his charges and options and he was flexible to our schedule and met my wife at our house at the agreed upon time. A part had to be ordered, Adrian gave us an estimate and ordered the part. I always prefer to assist the small business owners. In general they tend to offer more personalized prompt service. Adrian was in and out of my tenant's townhouse to check out and repair a dryer that decided to run when it "felt like it". Not good for a tenant that I want to keep happy, who is trying to dry her clothes! Fearing the worst that I'd be out the cost of a dryer, Adrian found out quickly that it was a silly knob that wasn't catching, thus the dryer kept flicking off. I chose Factor Appliance after seeing all of the 5 star reviews on Yelp, so while I'm usually lazy about writing reviews, I think it's only fair to contribute one as well. I contacted them due to issues with my freezer. The initial service fee was half the cost of other places I called AND unlike the other companies, if you choose to go with Factor Appliance, the service fee goes towards the cost of repairs. Scheduling was relatively easy, however, the person I spoke with did make a mistake leading to me to get an undesired appointment time. This would have resulted in a lower rating, but the service person did make an adjustment to the price to compensate for the inconvenience. The price was the best around, the service tech was knowledgeable and able to fix the problem, and very polite. My only minor complaint is that I wish they called when they were on their way to my place. Other than that though, great company. read more

So I am embarrassed to say I have mice in my crawl space. They took up residence in my oven in the winter and who knows where from there. Now Adcock Trapping figured out how they get in and we assumed the reason my oven no longer heated was because of the mice. NOPE, Adrian from Factor Appliance was not put off by the mouse traps and tested the oven. It wasn't the mice, it was a bad heating element that would cost me over $180. So I would have a great cremation device for mice! Needless to say I decided to get a new stove once we secured the mice situation, but Adrian even suggested some good appliance manufacturers to think about for my new stove. Clean easy and he even checked for mice under my frig' (luckily none!) I would recommend Factor to anyone looking to fix or repair their appliances.Just know that it will cost $80 either way. read more

We had a 4 year old Frigidaire dishwasher that started making a weird noise and leaking water while running. I went to Yelp and looked for a quality repair company to look at the unit and help me decide whether to fix or purchase a new one. Tyrone came and within 1/2 hour told me the problem (drain pump) and the cost of repair. Since the part needed ordered, I would need to schedule another visit for the repair. Tyrone again showed up promptly and immediately went to work and fixed our dishwasher within an hour. He even pulled out and showed me the broken piece of glass that was the culprit of the breakdown. Our very old Sub-Zero refrigerator was not cooling and Adrian came right away and at the time he said he would come. He immediately saw that the filter was filthy and had not been properly cleaned in a long time......causing the problem. We have a 25 year old Subzero refrigerator/freezer that seemed to have some "issues". I googled Subzero Refrigerator Repair and Factor Appliance's name was one of the ones that came up. So they weren't recommended to me by Washington Consumer's Checkbook or from a friend, only from a Google search. I asked the repair technician on the phone and he assured me that he knew how to repair Subzero refrigerators. I asked him again when he showed up at our house, "Every day" was his answer. He diagnosed the issues and went to work quickly making the repairs. He was patient and showed me exactly what he was doing and why, and I even provided the tiniest bit of assistance. Separately from the repair he did, he showed me that one of the compressors was running hot and noisy and heating up the entire frame of the appliance, and warned me that this will eventually fail. He recommended doing nothing now and just waiting until it breaks as this is a very expensive repair. Making the appointment was simple, both online and over the phone. He came when he said he would. He did the repair quickly and efficiently. I would definitely use him again for Subzero and possibly for other appliances like washer/dryer. read more

I would highly recommend this company. I first used a company called Via Inc that came out 3 times, cost me 500.00 not including my time and the issue and my refrigerator was never fixed. I called Factor Appliance they were able to come out the very next day, on time . The tech took apart my fridge and within minutes he diagnosed the issue. I could tell the difference between the two company's by the tech's knowledge and how to execute finding the problem . Our GE refrigerator would no longer hold the temperature it was set at in the refrigerated section. Based on the reviews, I thought I'd give Factor Appliance a try. I am so very glad that I did. Godfried came out on time (called first to let me know that he was on the way). Aside from being very nice and extremely professional, he really knows what he is doing. Within minutes, he had diagnosed the problem which was a broken diffuser door and had the part on the truck to replace it. He replaced the part and had everything back together within 30 minutes. Horrible service. My stove needed a part. The technician indicated that he could not find it and that I would need to order it myself. I ordered the part and, not being an appliance repair person myself, it was the wrong one. Once I identified the part (which was a feat in and of itself), ordered it and asked to have it installed, I was told that Factor appliance does not repair with parts provided by the customer. The repairman correctly diagnosed the problem with our ice maker which was a faulty IR sensor. However, they only offer the manufacturer's replacement parts which cost many times more that comparable parts by other suppliers. So they make a good profit off the parts in addition to the service. read more

The woman stopped me on the phone to inform me "they don't work with stackable washers and dryers." So many homes in this urban area have stackable washers and dryers, so I don't understand how they can't do repairs to this basic appliance just because of it's set up. Very disappointed. read more

LOOK NO FURTHER!! All these great reviews are TRUE! Had a leak in our refrigerator freezer, and water was running on the floor as it was not draining properly. A few weeks ago I called Factor very late on a Friday afternoon (4:45), and by noon Saturday, our refrigerator was fixed! $138! Yes, running great less than 24 hours later! I had also called Whirlpool, they wanted me to buy a one year warranty for $500 to fix it- for a fridge over 10 years old! No way smh.... But wait, it gets better! I also scheduled a call for our front loading clothes washer, seems it wasn't draining properly, a lot of water in the drum after wash cycle. That appt was for a few days later, and when Tyrone arrived, he checked it out and said that was normal for a front loading machine, nothing was wrong. (I thought there was a little water in there, but my wife had been nagging me to have it checked.) Anyway, Tyrone did NOT even charge us for the house call! Unheard of these days! My only regret is not hearing about Factor Appliance sooner!! You could immediately sense that both Godfried (freezer) and Tyrone (washer) were total pros that knew exactly what they were doing, vs (for example) Sears, where the guy says 'oh we should be able to figure this out!' I suspect there is nothing these guys haven't seen or fixed before! We called Factor Appliance after two frustrating and unsuccessful customer service calls with Sears. Our washer stopped working and they identified the problem, and fixed it, within 5 minutes of arriving at our house. Both the customer service person who scheduled our appointment (we called on Saturday morning and they got someone to us Monday morning) and the technician who came to our home were professional, friendly, and helpful. It cost $80 to have the technician come out but it was worth every penny for the easy, efficient service. I plan to call these folks anytime we have appliance issues in the future! read more
