We had a refrigerator where the water dispenser stopped working after we had put in 2 new filters. The Dars technician said try a different filter and indeed the problem was the filter brand. So the visit only cost $89 while he could have sold me a $400+ repair. Also, they will apply their $89 initial visit fee to any repair cost and not all repair companies do. Also, when I called they took the model number and checked that they can still get parts. read more

When my fridge broke, the official GE repair website didn't have availability to send out a repair person for over a week or more. So I called DARS on a Thursday to schedule a repair for my broken refrigerator. They had an opening the next day. The talented repairman came on time Friday and quickly diagnosed the problem. He ordered the part and installed it on Monday. My fridge works great now, and my family is happy. I paid a small free for the initial visit, which was deducted from the overall repair total. The total charge was quite reasonable. The cost seemed less than typical plumber or electrician or GE repair professional rates. They had good communication throughout the process. I will definitely call them again the next time an appliance breaks. read more

I said sure. She never called me back. I moved on and used Urbana Dryer Vent Cleaning instead, and they were excellent. read more

Terrible service very unprofessional don't recommend at all my washer was worst than before i called.

I needed a gas range burner fixed. The repairman broke **multiple** screws while trying to open the gas range for troubleshooting. We declined any further repair, and asked for the screws to be fixed. Days later, the same repairman tried drilling the broken screws out, but did a horrible job and made multiple burners unusable. Then they dragged their feet on getting replacements. I will never use this company again. The experience was so bad and took so many weeks, that in future I'd rather fix repairs myself then hire someone else to do it. read more

I would highly recommend this company for any kind of Appliance Repair. My dryer had a burnt smell coming from it and thankfully the repair man knew exactly what the issue was and it ended up just needing a good cleaning so he took it apart and cleaned out all the lint and debris that has accumulated in there over the past several years. He was very thorough and didn't try and charge me for things I didn't need. read more

The representative from Dars was extremely professional, polite and kept me in the loop through the entire process. Overall this was a great appliance experience. Sadly, our refrigerator did not survive the process and had to be replaced, but the Dar's team tried their best. I am a huge fan of telling directly what is possible and what the next steps could be. I needed a ten foot section of dryer vent replaced. The exiting vent was too small and was damaged. Dars promptly sent two technicians to inspect the dryer vent at no charge. They performed a comprehensive vent inspection from the attic to the laundry area. They identified clogs and areas where the vent did not comply with code. They provided a detailed plan to fix the dryer vent and eliminate a potential fire hazard. Within a couple days of the inspection they performed the repair and replacement. I could not be more pleased with the work and professionalism of the Dars personnel. read more

Dishwasher needs a new part. Technician came out on Monday and said he would come back Tuesday or Wednesday with the part. Ended up being Saturday and was given a 10:00-1:00 window for a tech. Scheduled my whole day around the window. Got a call at 12 saying window was being pushed to 1:00-4:00. Rescheduled whole day. Then got a call saying by 6:00. Nothing. Another call saying by 6:30. I called the Dar office and was out on hold for 15 minutes and hung up. Technician finally called me at 7:45 pm saying he would be at my house by 8:00 pm. Ten hours after my service window started. Needless to say a wasted Saturday and dishwasher still not fixed. Horrible customer service and scheduling. I'm going somewhere else. read more

I would give Dars a 5-star rating in a heartbeat except for my particular customer experience. I had tons of laundry to do Monday morning when my washers' spin cycle broke on the first load. No repair service could come that day so I booked an appointment with Dars for the next morning. Imagine my disappointment when Bashir, sweet as pie, called to say he could not come because of problems with the first job. Customer disappointment could have been easily avoided if the scheduler had added a caveat to my booking. "We'll be there in the morning UNLESS there is a problem with the first call. Would you prefer a first-call booking for Wednesday? -----Customer expectation management. Honesty. Clarity. Dars unfairly put its employee in an unenviable position. read more

Dars just left my home because our Frigidaire refrigerator and freezer stopped working suddenly. No power. We had hundreds of dollars of food in there. They came and fixed the unit within 2 hours! Super reliable, friendly, and capable. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend! read more

Technician left my house and I just felt taken advantage of. I felt overcharged for the amount of time actually required to fix my problem, the repairs were not completed when he left and I had to call him to come back after he had left. And the door to my closet is now broken, he must have down it when moving my dryer. read more

I have a 6 year old Maytag refrigerator that started leaking water. We thought we fixed it on our own but the leak came back. I called Dars on a Saturday morning and got someone out that same day. I called at 9 to confirm they were coming. No one came. Got a call from the office at 11 to say they'd be there in 10 minutes. I'd already had to leave, so they asked if I wanted you reschedule. poorly run, amateurish, flaky and unreliable. they office people will argue with you and talk in circles instead of simply scheduling a repair as requested. then the tech doesn't show up within the 3 hour tie given. no notification, no updates nothing just a no show. so 10 am to 1 pm becomes 230 and no sign of the guy at 2pm, still no word. also overpriced. $369 to replace a washing machine motor. and only a 100 day warantee. I called these guys because I wanted to get it done quickly and without a hassle. all I got was a hassle and losing the $57 diagnostic fee. I'm better off fixing it myself. read more

Just had my Samsung front-load washer repaired; the drain pump had failed. The team showed up promptly and were able to unstack the dryer and repair the washer in a little over an hour, then re-stack the dryer and make sure all connections were per spec. NEVER use Dars Appliance! They are dishonest and inept. On December 1st, I called them to repair my Samsung dryer. The repairman said I needed to replace the drum, so I agreed and he replaced it. On December 23rd the dryer stopped again. I had a two year old, and at the time, a two week old in the house, and a washing machine full of wet towels, sheets, and baby clothes. I called Dars and I was told they wouldn't send anyone out for 4 days. I could have understood that if I had been a new client, but as they had supposedly repaired my dryer just 3 weeks previously, and charged me a little over $200 to do it, I felt they should be more responsive. When I got nowhere, I finally told the lady on the phone I'd go elsewhere, but that I would leave bad reviews on social media. Minutes later, the owner or manager called me and began to scream at me for "threatening him". Then he laughingly told me it was against the law to send someone out on Christmas Eve. He finally screamed at me, "What's your problem lady? We promise a full refund." Fine, I said, send me my refund. Meanwhile I called another appliance service, who sent someone out the next day. He told me that the Dars repairman had put the drum in the wrong way, and every time I had used the dryer it caused more damage. He honestly told me that the parts and service costs would be pretty expensive, and that I might just want to get a new dryer, which is what I had to do. Meanwhile, I have called Dars THREE times asking for my refund, each time they promised it was on the way. Well, it's now March 6th, and I have yet to receive it. This is going to post saying I'm in San Francisco, for some reason. I am in Bethesda MD. read more

The technician rescheduled with me three times, to fix my dishwasher door. Only after he left and I realize that he broke the valve to my cold water under the sink. I have no proof of this, no pictures for example. However I made sure that I knew exactly where the valve was and then I could turn the water off should that be needed when he came to repair the door it was only a week after he left that I was working under my sink cleaning and I realized that the valve itself was broken and I would not be able to turn the water off. I now have to call a plumber to have my valve replace it's more costly and this never should've happened read more

My Maytag dishwasher wouldn't start so I called DARS. They came out the same day. Yousef diagnosed and pinpointed the problem within an hour and ordered the replacement part. Stay away! Far away! I should have just waited for LG to come do the diagnosis and fix. I won't be write the technician's name to respect him, but he was very very very very disrespectful and unprofessional! He was very rude to my mother which is why I asked him why was he speaking to her the way he was. When my father spoke to him, he said he doesn't have to answer to women. My mother had asked that when we spoke to the customer service rep, she stated that we could pay by cash, credit or check and that the technician would have a card reader on him. And that the receipt will have the diagnostic on it. That was not the case. When he called to provide the credit card information, he was upset that I wanted to provide the CC information myself and I asked for a detailed receipt and diagnosis. He throw the company card at me, and stormed out the house. This disrespect and unprofessional acts should be grounds for disciplinary actions. I called his supervisor and left two messages, none have been answered and I never got my receipt for payment nor diagnosis. LG ended up doing the job. I would love to upload the video of this situation but I know that wouldn't be right. read more

I am very disappointed with the service I did not receive from this company. After coming to look at my refrigerator, I was told a report would be sent to GE. No report was sent and I had to call the company several times to have them send it. First they said they didn't have a contact number for GE. Then they asked for my case number and an email address. If they were recommended by GE, they should be able to contact them. Finally, I received a call back from the manager, Yosef. He told me he didn't have to send a report, he was only going to do it as a favor. A favor? I paid $69 for nothing. This company is totally unreliable, dishonest, and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company at all. Honestly, they don't deserve the one star I had to give to write this review. It was an awful experience especially when you have the manager yelling at you about something he said he would do and then refused to do. Please think twice before using this company. read more

Whenever your refrigerator stops cooling, you need someone immediately. We were so fortunate that we found DAR Appliance Repair on goggle purely by accident. This company was here by 11 a.m. on the same day that we called. The service person who came out was so professional and identified the problem correctly. A part was needed to be replaced so he had to return the next day. Again, he showed up at the exact time that he had called and said he would be here. He efficiently replaced the part, vacuumed under the refrigerator and thoroughly explained what the problem was. The cost of his coming out (service charge which was far lower than others I had contacted ) was deducted from the cost of the part he replaced. Great job, professional, competent, personable, and very reasonable in cost. We will definitely call this company first for all of our large appliance repair. G&N S. read more

I called Dars on Friday because two of my appliances were out. The Lady on the phone had a lot of problems with English, but I had patience and finally made sure that she had the right name, address, phone number, and email. The cost for diagnosis was agreed to and the appointment was set with a three hour window between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. I made sure everything was clear before 2:00 and waited. Finally, at 4:57 PM the tech called and said he would be there in 15 minutes. I said "Don't bother. You missed your time and I'll find another place." read more

Several hours passed by, yet the technician never called. I do not recommend this repair company based on their lack of professionalism and respect for people's time. read more
