Stopped by for dinner tonight. Took quite a while for main entrees to arrive, though server kept saying that food was on its way out. Could tell that other diners were frustrated by their waits as well. When our order did finally arrive, my spouse's chicken caesar salad came with no chicken. Staff seemed overwhelmed and leader-less. Very disappointing. Couldn't even get container to take leftovers home...but got the bill! read more

Recommended by a co worker. Went to check it out ordered hot wings for an appietizer, they were good. Then ordered their bbq ribs for dinner, the ribs were excellent, fall off the bone and very meaty! Service was also good. Will definitely go back. read more

I love this place! Have been here for date night dinner, with a large group for a birthday party (on Tini-Tuesday, and our waitress was awesome, attentive and kept the Tini's flowing), on several Girls Night Out excursions, and for lunch with my teenage daughters. Everything has always been very good, fresh and always great service. A very welcome addition to Crown Point. My only concern is times that friends and I have sat in bar for drinks and apps, our waitress was also the bartender and although she was great, she was running her tail off!! I used to come a lot more to this place! At the beginning, the service was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. I came back the other day and the service was absolutely terrible. I used to be greeted at the door by a smiling hostess with personality and I barely got a look in the eye this time! The server was short, quick and seemed like she didn't want to be there. It took forever to get my food and it was not even close to being as flavorful as it used to be. the atmosphere was just off. If i could go back a year ago, I would recommend this place to all! Fahrenheit is the best restaurant in the Crown Point area. Only the freshest ingredients make up their menu. It's hard to find a restaurant with their quality of food, and even harder to get their reasonable prices. I've been a frequent patron for three years and yet to have a poor meal from this establishment. My favorite entrees include the ribs, filet, bruschetta chicken, almond tilapia, ahi tuna salad, and the wrapper. If you're looking for dessert the creme brûlée and the Rich Drunk are amazing. I highly recommend Fahrenheit to anyone in the NWI area! read more

Crown Point for the most part lacks fine dining. Fahrenheit 212 is a rare exception. Great steak, fish, and unique dishes like their bruschetta goat cheese stuffed chicken breast. Nice atmosphere, great outdoor dining area. The owner is very involved. I'd recommend everyone try this place. I have experienced better service at a fast food place than this restaurant. My experience was indescribable. We went on a Monday night and they were having their $5 angus burger and fries as their special. We were seated right away. Our waitress Deanna came over 5 minutes later and we ordered our food within 10.After sitting an hour .our waitress said food was in window and she was bringing it right out. 15 minutes later.. still nothing. We had to get up to find the manager and she seemed surprised and said she would take care of it. Finally, after almost TWO HOURS, our food WITH appetizers came out. My boyfriend asked " so are we going to have to pay for all of this?" The waitress said " Well, Id sure hope you are." In the most shittiest tone you could possibly have. My mom had asked if we could speak to a manager and she never even came by us. We all walked out. Never received an apology, didn't offer to not charge us or anything. I came here with my niece to celebrate a special occasion and splurged on the 14 ounce New York strip, one of the most expensive steaks on the menu. Probably four out of my first five bites were nothing but fat and gristle. It was also not the medium rare I had ordered. I also ordered a baked potato but ended up selecting the garlic mashed potatoes when the waitress returned to the table to tell me they were out of baked potatoes. My niece had the shrimp fettuccine alfredo and was disappointed to find that the alfredo sauce tasted worse than the $2 jar of Prego alfredo sauce. I can confirm that as well. The restaurant was nearly empty so there was no reason to sacrifice quality for the sake of speed. The waitress also practically ripped my niece's glass out of her hand to refill her soda. The dessert was inexpensive but was unspectacular. Sadly, the side salad I ordered was easily the best part of the meal. It was fresh and crisp. The restaurant itself looks a little worn down in all honesty. I spent nearly $80 (including the tip) at this restaurant and could not have been less impressed with the food, the service, and the ambiance. I wish we'd gone elsewhere, even if only to Buffalo Wild Wings up the street. I sincerely regret not speaking to the manager. read more

Would not recommend this place even tho my coworker told me it was good. The waitress, who was previously at another CP eatery, was awful. No follow-up, not friendly. In fact, I ordered my steak and went on to order the two sides as mentioned on the menu and she said no, just one side. After I questioned her, she said oh, they changed that. No explanation, nothing. For $25 got an ok steak, nothing special..with a lettuce salad and bottled dressing and a side of coleslaw that was in a the size of a plastic container you get your pills in at the hospital. Had to beg for water. Was so cold in the place we wore our coats during dinner (sat in bar area) and waitress could have cared less. Said they were not allowed to touch the stat. All 4 of us disappointed in food with little taste, no imagination. The appetizer of spring rolls w/sauce were best thing going. My husband asked for an olive and then asked again. read more

First time eating dinner here. Crab cakes and calamari appetizers were very good, loved the dinnerware. Bread was fresh and served warm. Drinks were good, but skip the Rita (a bit tart.) (Fridays drinks are only $4, beer @ $3.) Two of us had Sea bass dinner special for $23: mine consisted of 4 asparagus spears (excellent grilled, smoky flavor), a cup of clam chowder (average at best) and a 1"x1"x3" piece of sea bass (I was told it was 6 oz., but it couldn't have been more than 4 oz.) covered in a bland white sauce. The only flavor I could deduce in the sauce was the pieces of raw red onion. The fish itself was very mild and flaky, not at all fishy. The other soups we tried were excellent. Two of us had the lake perch, which was a bit greasy (definitely not Teibels!) and the garlic mashed potatoes (a portion about the size of a half medium potato.) Coffee was excellent, as was the Coconut Snow Ball (basically a jello cake.) The brownie was horrible, so stale and dry it had to have been two weeks old! I can't believe they actually served it to anyone. We all tried a bite and left the rest. The good news: All dishes were presented beautifully, and our server was wonderful, timing was perfect, place was clean and atmosphere was serene. read more

I have dined here about ten times in the past year and a half and it is really hit or miss on food. The service is not super professional or friendly but they are attentive. I do wish they had more menu knowledge and engaging personalities but it seems like they have fast employee turn over perhaps to slow business (every time I have been there the dining room is almost empty?). The food- overpriced for the area and preparation quality varies between visits. Had a few beautiful steaks here and there but also a few still moo-ing on the plate when ordered medium. I mean ice cold in the middle *shudder* some people may like it but if I wanted carpaccio I would order that instead. I used to love the Caesar dressing made in house but I noticed a difference on the last visit and they said it's now store bought. They have some decent drink specials and a just okay (but to be expected of a place like this) selection of wine. I would highly suggest viewing the menu on-line first and I also would say don't make it a destination spot. If you in the Merrillville/Crown Point area there are much better steak houses and true fine dining restaurants around. I would go back but only maybe twice a year especially now that the steaks are never cooked right and they changed the previously great Caesar dressing. Oh well. read more
