I often like the south of the border in calzone form, but you can't go wrong with anything that they make I'm not a big Mac guy. First, the good things. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza. West Main layers cheese atop the pepperoni. The crust was crunchy and tasty. Whether deliberate or not, it's sliced so there are wide and narrow pieces. I had a local IPA, Beach Party brewed in Portsmouth. Excellent. The bar area is decorated with old funny license plates. This is a functional restaurant. The decor is roadside signs. You order from the take home menu and food is brought to your wood table. They have an enormous selection of craft and national beers. Service is what you'd expect with a large takeout business. I gave it three stars because the tables were dirty. Whether understaffed to keep up with cleaning or too busy, crumb filled tables are a real turn off. One table still had dirty dishes from a previous customer. Was the pizza good? It was great! We will return because it's local and we support local small businesses but we will do take out. read more

Love this place! I moved into my current house just 20 years ago and paid my help in pizza and that was my first of many visits. I've never had a bad pizza here. Is that even a thing? My husband and I decided to each get a small pizza because we couldn't decide on just one. My family ordered take out from here(two pizzas and the boneless chicken). Only me and my mother both had the chicken, no one else in my family, and we both got really sick. My family just moved here from NY and it has been a struggle to find pizza out here that we like. We always order a chicken bacon each pizza. What we loved about west main CBR pizza was the chicken was breaded, crispy crust, and packed with flavor. What we didn't like was that the charging of my two toppings I asked to add tomatoes and some green onions. Feel the $21 price for large was reasonable but add two toppings now it is $28. But all in all my family love the pizza and will look forward to trying other types they have. read more

Ok so I am extremely picky with pizza. Having grown up in Boston with so many good pizza places and spending three years living in Naples Italy, the birth place of pizza, I definitely know what it takes to make great pizza. West Main Pizza is amazing. The best pizza on aquidneck island by far, and I'd go so far as to say the closest place you can go to get anything close is Providence. As for the pizza, the crust is so good its hard to fathom. You can't get enough. It's crunchy yet soft, and so much flavor. The special pizzas are awesome, especially the buffalo and the all-American. All-American tastes exactly like a Big Mac! The buffalo is my favorite buffalo anywhere on God's green earth. I highly recommend this place. One more thing: I've got take out several times, but I am planning on going to dine in soon. read more

I grew up right down the road from West Main and I now live in MA so I cannot go as often as I would like. West Main is always a must for my friends and I when we come home. My favorite pizza is their Buffalo Chicken, I have tried many Buffalo Chicken pizzas and nothing else compares! I also really enjoy their blue cow. Things to know....the owners are great, they use wheat crust, they do not deliver, they have beer and wine, and the price of the pizza is worth it! Their garlic bread is amazing. With or without cheese, it will be the best $1.99 added onto your meal 3. Oh the pizza is glorious. I got the "Great White" and it was probably the best white pizza I've ever had. Garlic chicken with white sauce, broccoli and red peppers. The crust was nice and fluffy and all of the ingredients held together so well, nothing fell apart when I tried to eat it. I'll definitely be heading back for other pizzas. The place was clean and a nice atmosphere. We ordered the SMOG pizza and the antipasto salad. The wait was short and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Three words..... "take and bake". Yep that's right you can take home any pizza on their menu not cooked and bake it in your own oven and enjoy it at home. I think their crust is the best there is.
