This is one of our favorite places to dine for lunch. Everything on the menu tastes amazing! Our server took about ten mins before arriving to take our order so that felt long but once we received our food she checked on us. We always choose to eat outside on the patio deck, when it's hot out like it was the fans blow cold mist our way which is refreshing. The food is pricey but worth it. Great place to go after a hike along the river. We arrived about 1:00 on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was quite busy. We had our pup with us, so we waited about 15-20 minutes for an outside table on the patio. Once seated, service was prompt and friendly. I had a glass of rose wine, while my husband had a beer. We ordered the "Tree Hugger" pizza, which is an 11-inch thin crust pizza with spinach, mushrooms, artichoke, pepperoncini, red pepper, cherry tomato, shredded mozzarella, pesto basil sauce, and garlic. We both enjoyed the pizza very much, the flavors were perfect and the pesto sauce gave it a bit of zing. We've been here before, and we will come back. I haven't been here for years. I couldn't even remember what kind of food they had. We decided to try it out again a few nights ago, and It was really good. They have a nice variety of food and beers. My wife got a cider and I got a peanut butter stout. It taste exactly like peanut butter. I liked it. We also ordered a few things to share. We got a pizza, some pulled pork tacos and a burger. My daughter ordered the macaroni and cheese. Even though I didn't try it, it looked good and she liked it. The experience I wrote about in my previous Fair Oaks Brew Pub review still bothers me. I really liked the place. The excitement to eat there that day but to be shown such horribly depressing tables made for a very disappointing experience. Coupled by the fact that being greeted took a long time, that disappointment left a mark. And I don't want to leave a negative review for any business, especially locally-owned and operated. But I won't lie or give a positive review unless it's earned. However, about a month ago I was in need of a spot like FOBP. So I gave them another chance. Again it took a long time (3-4 minutes plus) to be acknowledged. Staff and owner walked past a couple of times but didn't say hello until I initiated it. After being seated our order was taken swiftly, the food was delivered quickly, food and beer were delicious, and our experience was good after that. read more

This place is awesome! Great bar and atmosphere inside, and a cool outdoor seating area for groups. I enjoyed a couple of great IPA's and their 'Big Burger'. The Burger was served on a ciabatta roll with garlic aoli, onions, pickles, and house dressing. I can honestly say this was the BEST burger I've had in a long time. The prices are more than reasonable ($6 each for the IPA's) and the bartenders/employees are incredible. I don't give out five stars too often, but this place deserves it. My fav place to be outside and enjoy yummy food and drink. A perfect snack is a warm pretzel and cheese. Homemade soup on a cool day. Tasty pizza and salads. Last night, I hosted a 40-person party and Wei and the Pub outdid themselves with appetizers and drinks. I can't believe I've been going there for over a decade and haven't thought to leave a review. I was talking to friends tonight about why it's so amazing and it hit me I should share with all. First off, it may have the fastest service. You order something and it's there in no time. There is such a community environment where everyone seems to want to make sure you're taken care of. The owner Wei knows everyone and makes you feel like family. Whether you order their pizza or their sushi or their delicious pretzel with cheese sauce, you will be happy. We just discovered this hidden gem tonight. This place is amazing, yes, their menu is more limited with options, but you still can find something you will crave. We were really looking forward to dining here as a family, but unfortunately had a disappointing experience. After being seated, we were ignored for a while and then unexpectedly asked to give up our table because it had apparently been promised to another party. There were no other tables available for us outside (which was the whole point we chose to dine here), so we had no choice but to leave or wait around after being humiliated. It was an uncomfortable and confusing situation that left a very bad impression. Hopefully the restaurant can work on better communication and organization going forward. Absolutely phenomenal food and drinks! I have been here a few times now and all experiences were beyond pleasant. I have tried the hen house, the pulled pork sandwich, the risky burger and the Mac n cheese...all so delicious! The coconut mojito is a MUST! We live in the neighborhood and so go to FOBP frequently. FOBP is across from the park and has both inside and patio dining. It is relaxed but not sloppy. We have never had a bad meal. This is a brew pub not a haute cuisine place - but the food is good and the variety on the menu is very good - sushi, burgers, pizza, salads and lots of other options. As importantly the owners make sure that the wait staff is attentive and responsive. Over the years when we have had a problem we raised it and it was fixed. NO exceptions. Java J posted a scurrilous review today which is completely different from any experience we have had over the last couple of years. At times, every restaurant gets slammed but FOBP tries to make sure every guest is treated well. One other issue that does not affect the food - the owners are supportive of the community. They are an anchor in the Village and I was offended by the irresponsible nature of Java J's rant. Some Yelp reviewers go into a restaurant thinking they need to look for something negative. That is irresponsible and Java J's review is a perfect example of that type of Yelper. Don't listen to these jerks. Try the place out and (as we have done) if there is a problem, raise it with the wait staff of the owners and based on our experience the problem will be resolved. read more

We were told that the wait was ~45 min, which we agreed as we had previously loved that place. Not aware of new ownership!! We were offered s table for 2 in the manner of take it or leave it.. we appreciated the accommodation and sat at a tiny 2 people table: 3 of us plus dog. Our dining experience took a disappointing turn when our orders were not taken promptly, leading to a long wait of 50 minutes with no food in sight. When we inquired about the delay, the owner responded rudely, dismissing our concerns with a shrug and an offer to cancel our order on the spot. We did leave, i'd say for ever!!! read more

I love this place and I love the owner, but the last time I was there our waitress was acting awkward and would come in to interrupt us every 5 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. She acted offended when we weren't ready. 2 min later another waitress would ask if we were ready to order. It made it impossible to focus on the menu. Once we were finished with our meal, the awkward waitress made us pay on the spot. She would not leave the table until we paid. She didn't ask if we were splitting the bill or anything. We dine there often and did not understand this lack of trust. So 2 stars removed for the constant interruptions and the hovering until we paid. When FO Brew Pub first opened, the food was amazing. However, in recent years, the food quality has declined. Comparing how their pulled pork sandwich used to be versus now is such a vast difference. The sandwich is way smaller nowadays, and I barely tasted any french fried onion, whereas it used to be a significant part of the sandwich. The pork was mediocre. The fries that came as an extra $1 charge with my sandwich were overdone. The food is not worth the price. This used to be one of my favorite pubs in the area, so sad. *Edit* the owner replied, and since he wants to try to gaslight his customers and is unable or incapable of accepting constructive feedback, I'm adding a response. Clearly I struck a nerve with you. Your pulled pork sandwich is not the same as when this place first opened. That's a fact. It used to be packed with meat and fried onions and now it isn't and is not worth the price. Also, where's the response on the overcooked fries? I came to your restaurant a year ago, and held my tongue hoping it was a one-off situation with a mediocre meal, but seeing as this was the second time the food was so-so, I posted my review. Do what you can to make the food competitive against other pubs in the area or you will lose customers, and learn to accept when others critique you. I have lived in Fair Oaks my whole life. Great neighborhood brew pub with a really lovely patio. We came here for Sunday lunch and we were able to call ahead and score a table, which worked out well since it filled up minutes after we arrived. The patio is huge with lots of shade and very effective misters. Great selection of wines, beers and cocktails. I had two refreshing Aperol spritzes. My husband really liked his burger but my pulled pork was a bit underwhelming. The roll tasted really fresh though. Service was super attentive and we enjoyed our lunch. They also had hidden upcharges on our lunches such as extra $1 if you wanted fries with your pulled pork sandwich (stupid me for thinking that comes with your meal I guess). We also ordered a hot pretzel and they charged us an extra $1.50 for the side sauce they serve with it. These prices don't bother me if they were included in the meal, but upsetting that they hide the fact they're adding to your bill at the end. We didn't find the overall staff very friendly other than the bartender that helped us when again, we couldn't find our waitress when we wanted an extra drink. No, we won't go back. This place is so so so delicious ..I usually go with at least a couple people to this epic clean establishment.. There are so many beers and they even have their own and also abscure beers which are nice to try..I order usually always the pork sliders to share with my company and it compliments almost any beer. There's quite a selection of different food as well. I ordered the pasta dish as there are other dishes such as salads and other protein options..The foods seems very fresh and not reheated..The staff here are always friendly and super quick to get your order..This place always is great I have been at least 10+ times and I have never oc even let down.If you want some good food and great beer with an epic atmosphere..This is you go to spot.. This restaurant would not make the least accommodation for my plant-based lifestyle. All I wanted was a large dinner salad w/ vegetables/fruits, all of which were listed as ingredients on their menu. They cook to order so their chef could easily put the ingredients on a bed of lettuce. I wrote a list of ingredients from the menu and handed it to the owner's wife, Mae. Too complicated, I guess, to make a salad with assorted lettuce, tomatoes, grapes, mandarins, mushrooms and bell peppers, again, all listed as ingredients used on their menu. It was not during a busy time either. 2:10 pm!! I have NEVER had this happen at any restaurant. Obviously, they don't care to get or keep new customers. My husband and I got up and left after speaking with the Mae after waiting 15 minutes for service!!! Her reply was to pick a salad from their menu and omit the items I couldn't eat. If I did that, all I'd get is lettuce for $11-17. That's unacceptable. Good location. Nice menu. How could you screw this up? We went to Jack's Urban Eats instead. If you're an omnivore, no problem. But if you have any type of allergies or want something without meat, fish, fowl, dairy, eggs or gluten, forget it. At the very least, put a whole plant food (vegan) option on the menu in your salad section. Get with the times. You're in California! UPDATE 9/7/2023: This is in response to the owner, Gary's, snide response. It's obvious you have no customer relations training or you'd respond in a more apologetic tone. Obviously you haven't looked at your menu more closely. None of your salads are vegan. They are either vegetarian (dairy/eggs) or omnivore (w/animal products). A Beyond Burger as your only option is still not plant-based. It's a processed fake meat full of saturated fat and salt and it's probably NOT on a vegan bun. I want a whole plant food meal made with fresh produce which you have on your menu. And yes, when a guest comes to my place with a special dietary request, you bet I accommodate them. What good host wouldn't? Guess you're not that kind of a person, full of yourself and always right. I've read your responses to the other 1-2 star reviews. There's a pattern there. You could care less. Maybe you need to read them again and take note. There's a great book you might want to read, "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie if you want to become a better business person. read more
