My 3 year old LG refrigerator started leaking water from the ice compartment over the memorial day weekend. Then by Monday, everything spotted cooling and all food was spoiled. Call Fair Repair on Monday of the memorial day weekend. Alex came out and diagnosed the fridge and said the compressor was dead. Told me the steps to get a new one ordered from LG, which is covered under warranty. They repair to install would not be covered. He gave me and price to replace and would waive the diagnostic fee if they were to install the new compressor. The compressor took almost 2 weeks to get from LG as their process is not acceptable but nothing to do with Fair Repair. Once Alex received the compressor we scheduled the date to install, he came on a Friday night and finished putting in the new compressor. Fridge is back up and even though LG is responsible for such a bad product, Fair Repair did an great job getting our Fridge back up and running. Give Alex a ring next time something (appliance) gives out on you within couple years of owning it. read more

Samsung oven stopped heating and needed to get this fixed before Thanksgiving. Called several places, but they did not service Samsung appliances. Fair Repair not only fixes Samsung, but they were here the next day to take a look at the over. The service tech called me ahead of time to tell me he was on his way which I thought was great. Once the Tech arrived he was in his mask and he never took it off. He took a look and checked the igniter which went bad and then told me about the process and cost to fix it. I told him to go ahead and fix the issues and he was done in 15 min. After he was done he sent me a text message so I could pay via text. 100% no contact visit and all covid protocol was met. You can't get a more fair and better service. Called them on Sat night and they were able to squeeze my service into their Sunday schedule. The technician came and was super professional. Was able to troubleshoot the fridge in 10 short minutes. Unfortunately, the diagnostic was dire - as there is no easy fix for a gas leak. The tech suggested to replace the 10 y/o fridge or use a not-recommended method of sealant. I opt for the sealant - that was able to hold for a less than 4 hours. On Tuesday I met the AC technician "Alexey". Alexey was extremely polite and professional. He asked a few questions, diagnosed the problem, then explained to me a special tool was needed to properly clean the drain pipe from a very small condo ceiling to outside. Ray came to my house to replace the compressor fan in my refrigerator. He arrived on time, did the repair and made sure everything was clean before he left. Later that day the fan started making a lot of noise. I called and let them know about the noise. Ray came back that night after working all day and put in a new fan motor. I even offered to pay for the second fan motor and was told that wasn't necessary. The new fan is quiet and I'm very happy. I believe that the quality of customer service is measured when things go sideways, not when everything is easy and smooth. Our air conditioner broke during a 100+ degrees heat wave. I called Fair Repair at 7 pm on a Tuesday, and the technician (Lionel) arrived at noon on Thursday. Very reasonable response time and faster than others offered. Lionel quickly found that a capacitor was fried, so he replaced it and the AC was cooling again. However, 30 minutes later the AC stopped cooling. I talked with Alex (the manager) and Lionel came back at 8 pm (after work hours), to see what went wrong. He found that the fan motor also went bad and told me that they'll need to order that part, which may take a few days. Alex called me in the morning to tell me that they'll try to get the new part ASAP, but he cannot promise me it'll be before Monday. At 9 pm that day (to remind you, it's a Friday), Lionel called that he has the part. Shortly after he showed up and worked until almost midnight to finish the repair. Doing everything possible to fix the problem as quickly as possible, even on a very late Friday night, combined with Lionel and Alex regularly communicating with me and texting me any time they had an update, made me feel that Fair Repair really cared. I had a broken ice maker in my LG refrigerator and called Fair Repair in Sunnyvale, CA. Got a quick response to my call and easily set up an appointment for the next day. Super competent Bill showed up, quickly replaced a part and told me to call the next day to make sure it was making ice. It wasn't and scheduled another visit in a few days to replace a different part (they advised me that there was a chance that the first part wouldn't fix the problem). Bill again came over (miserable day-pouring rain), replaced the other possible part and voila, I'm drowning in ice now. The most impressive aspect of dealing with these people is their communication diligence. Although it took two parts ( with a delay due to a backlog for the second part), they kept me totally updated throughout the whole process.
