If there was a way I could take stars I would. RUN, do not walk, and PASS this cleaner never trusting them with your clothes. Their prices are misleading. And they do NOT do a good job either. Will not never return PERIOD. I took in 30 shirts for their laundry service. None of the shirts cost less than $65. Most were custom. 13 of the 30 shirts were badly stained with ring around the color when I got them back. The female attendant was rude to me and tried to tell me it was my fault the shirts were not cleaned. And that they had to wash my shirts separately than the other customers. Well, I had 30 shirts, since their special was 30 Shirts for 99 cents each. Also they had posted a 3% discount for prepaid cash on top and they never gave that to me. This company cost me hundreds of dollars for ruining my shirts. Even if my shirts had ring around the collar a good cleaner gets that out without setting the stains permanently in the fabric. No complaints here on the quality & cost of their service. This place needs some updated love on Yelp so I decided to write about my recent first experience with them. Our boys were in 2 weddings this summer, wearing the same shirts. Naturally they managed to destroy their white dress shirts at the first wedding by getting spaghetti sauce all over them. Took the shirts to get them dry cleaned and hoped they could get us out of our saucy situation. (I'll admit the low reviews made me skeptical at first). They were friendly and very confident they could restore the shirts back to white... which they did by the next day! And the price was right. Had a wedding and needed my suit to be dry cleaned in very short notice this place was able to dry clean it in one day and it was very clean and the spots were gone it was perfectly ironed did not need to ask for any touch up. Fairchild cleaners doesn't deserve 1 star. Anymore that is. I have been taking my dry cleaning here for 20 years! But that came to a stop 2 weeks ago. They botched an alteration job and wouldn't make it right and didn't offer to try again to resolve the issue. When I asked for my $5 back so that I could have the work done somewhere else, they refused to give it to me. I didn't think I should have to pay for a job poorly done. They don't care about their customers happiness and after 20 years of being a loyal customer I am happy to take my business elsewhere. I have been coming here for years, the staff has always been friendly, the price is very competitive, the turnover is only a day, and they are opened on Sundays! One time when they had misplaced my husbands shirt they took care of it immediately no questions asked. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be over charged for your clothes to be returned ruined and still dirty. I brought 13 items in and was charged $114. Times are tough for everyone, I get that everything is getting expensive, and that would be fine if you're going to do your job correctly. However, upon getting my clothes home and taking them out of the plastic, I noticed my suit jacket was returned with food still all over it. It is also very discolored and faded now. I don't know what they did to it, but the pockets have a brown tint to them and it looks awful. One of my brand new black skirts that I've only worn once was also ruined. It has like these gray streaks all over it and it also had a few snags that weren't there before. It would also be nice if they didn't put safety pins all over my skirts and pants to hang them. I don't want holes in my clothes even if they're small. I also had a couple of shirts get ruined. One blouse came back with multiple holes on the back of the shirt that weren't there when I dropped it off and the strap was broken on one of my camisoles. To say that I'm disappointed and upset is an understatement. I don't know what happened to this business, it used to be great, but they suck now and clearly do not care about customer service or other people's property. read more

I came here for years but after they stained shirts of mine with rust and black smudges on three separate occasions I just can't do it anymore. The last straw was a custom shirt that was brand new and never worn that I was just having pressed for my wedding. I came in to pick it up to find a huge rust looking stain on the back. It was a nightmare and they only got it about 90pct out and said that was the best they could do. Each time I found stains that they had gotten on my clothes it was always an awkward conversation and they never seemed to want to make it right. OK, I am completely surprised by these negative reviews. I have been taking my clothes and bedding to them for 5 years and they have always done a perfect job. I have very expensive comforters, one is pieced satin, one has chiffon-like fabric with embroidery. These always come back looking like new. Same with all my sweaters...I don't wash sweaters...and they all look great thanks to Fairchild. There is still the same staff there as 5 years ago. They remember you with a smile and I don't really recall that happening at any other dry cleaner in SoCal before. Also I have not experienced an item not being ready on time. Don't be afraid to take your things to these people! I'm sure there are LOTS of people like me, but who don't think to post about a dry cleaner. read more

Have used Fairchild for at least 2 years, and overall the prices are low and it's close to home. However I'm done! About a year ago, they lost one of my shirts and I didn't notice until I came home. Went back to find it and of course it was no where to be found and they did nothing. This time, I picked up my clothes 2 days ago. Before I left my house for work, noticed 2 spill stains on the top back of my dress shirt near the collar. I just took it out of the cleaners wrapping. Very disappointing from a cleaners. I have been bringing my clothes here for almost a year. This isn't the first time I've had an issue with the service here though but I believe in second chances. The woman running the front is NOT helpful or kind. She basically insinuated that they probably wouldn't be able to get the stains out. So then why would I want to leave my clothes with you and prepay? You would think that a dry cleaning service would have a list of cleaning items they use for certain stains, right? Apparently not. Beware of these cleaners. Been coming here for a while now for my dress shirts. Last pickup, three of my shirts, from 2 manufacturers and one only a couple months old, had a tear in a sleeve in the same place. These shirts were fine when I dropped them off. Rather than assuming responsibility for damaging a customer's garments, they said that they were damaged when I brought them in. They did try to repair them, but they're even worse now. I brought in three items here: a blazer and dress to be cleaned and another dress to be pressed. My biggest complaint was about my blazer. I wore it about 3 weeks after picking it up from the cleaners. After putting it on, I immediately noticed it was clearly dirty- I'm not sure if this was cleaned at all. As for the other dress I had cleaned, I was not confident it was cleaned well. I can't fairly share my thoughts on the dress I paid to be pressed. It was placed in a garment bag and I did not check it before traveling with it in my car. When I arrived to my destination, the dress was just as wrinkly when I took it in, but they may have happened during the trip. Either way, I won't be back. read more

Fairchild Cleaners ruined my silk shirt and refused to give credit or reimburse me. The owner took 3 weeks to return my calls and the staff was rude. Furthermore, the owner said it was my fault the shirt was ruined because my Banana Republic shirt was "made in China." I noticed the huge rips in my shirt when I went to pick it up and never took it home. They actually still have it. I've had friends also have items destroyed by them. I recommend skipping Fairchild Cleaners and heading to Back Bay Cleaners. Steer clear unless you want your clothing ruined. Yikes! read more

I have to agree and tack on to the negative reviews already here for this place. This place is expensive, they will charge you $10 for a regular coat and call it a 3/4 coat. Other places charge you $7. In addition, they have 3% cash or check prepay discount written next to the register but if you don't ask for it they don't give it to you. If you ask after the fact because you realize they didn't give it to you, they will just give you a credit instead... credit I will never use because I won't go back. read more

They lost my Jacket to my suit and told me I didn't drop it off. Lady behind counter was rude and went back to look around for 5 seconds and said there are no jackets here?!? Nonetheless, I switched to Fairchild and have had a great experience for the past year. Alex is always friendly and paying up front gives you a discount. My shirts tend to be on the expensive side and they've not ruined or lost anything. They actually have done a great job of getting stains out of my dress pants and shirts due to food/drinks. Fairchild cleaners is awesome, most of my dresses require dry cleaning and I've had some bad experiences before with delicate fabrics being damaged but not here! I had a similar experience to the one posted below, except I lost a $40 shirt. I took my black shirt in, which had a white deodorant stain on the inside. When I got it back, their cleaning process made the white marks bleed to the outside. They accepted no responsibility for this, and even tried to say that the stain was already there. They did a re-do and didn't get the stain out. I asked for a refund (at the very least) and the manager gave me the run-around for THREE WEEKS. Finally I was sick of it and asked for the shirt back. They still refused to give me a refund. I paid $2.69 to have them RUIN a $40 shirt. If you value your clothes, don't take them here. read more

My most recent visit was extremely disappointing because when I took one of my blazers out of the wrapping at home it had spill stains splattered all over the back. Got tired of having my shirts handed back to me with the material more worn than when I dropped them off. Too many buttons popped off over the years - some would be acceptable, but not this many. Don't clean collars and cuffs unless you mark them with their tape - that should be done as part of the normal service on their part. Not always the friendliest. I needed my tie cleaned for work on Friday (it's a part of a uniform, we only get one). I turned it in on Tuesday and they told me to pick it up on Thursday. I show up on Thursday and they told me they lost it, and then once they found it, they couldn't clean it until tomorrow. They wouldn't have it ready until after I already had to be at work. When I tried to get it back so I could have it, they gave me nothing but attitude and rudeness. Terrible business. I understand things happen.
