I came in here to purchase a wheelbarrow and was surprised with how big the store is and how extensive the selection is of tools, gardening supplies, and housewares. More importantly, I was blown away by the exceptional customer service. Tyler answered all my random questions and even helped me carry the wheelbarrow to my car. We walked into this location on Monday the 10th 2014 5 minutes before they were supposed to close. After having the most difficult and unpleasant experience at home depot we decided to give ace a try. As soon as we entered we were greeted by the cashier. After a few minutes the gm Vincent personally assisted us, found what we needed and even offered us coffee. He kept the store open for us and took great care of us. Vincent is a true asset to this company and I highly admire his dedication. If anyone from ace reads this please take the time to thank Vincent for us. August 24, 2021. Brought broken Craftsman torque wrench to store for warranty coverage. Tyler and Eddie responded. Tyler's comment was "look on craftsman.com or else write to the company" and walked away. Asked Eddie to find a mail address for company. He was at a computer. Instead of quickly providing info for Craftsman, which is a significant supplier, he complained. Upon asking him again, he said I had an attitude and told me "have a good day." Amazingly inept and unhelpful. Ace is one dealer that took over when Sears went out of this business. Staff have not been trained to know that folks buying automotive tools expect expertise about products and the manufacturers. Auto tools are long-life items and buyers are serious about them. Not unique, Ace has several other product lines in which customers expect expertise and attention. When I returned to my vehicle and while we drove home, my wife searched internet on her phone and provided me with info I needed. Terrible that Ace staff not trained on Craftsman warranty policies, as it is easy to find. I went to store as Craftsman has historically had lifetime warranty on their tools. Now I know that is not the case. Store was not busy when I was there. Again, inept and unhelpful service. Sad. read more

My wife went in today with my 18 month old daughter to pick up some lump charcoal for our smoker. She was raving about the service when I got home today. She kept talking about how friendly all the staff were and how they helped her pick up the 20lb bag in the store and even brought it out to the car for her. Twins Ace Hardware on Main Street is my go-to hardware store. If on a rare occasion they do not stock the item I'm seeking, they'll tell me where to find it. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I appreciate the fact that they employ a lot of young women in positions that require hardware and repair knowledge. I also like shopping for those odd kitchen items that are handy, such as small bowls for food prep, unusual tools that fit into my pocket, and even yummy caramels at the check out counter. I recently bought a Craftsman snowblower at Twins ACE. It was defective out of the crate and the ACE warranty states that they will not accept for return any machine after gas has been put in it. The warranty requires you to deal directly with Craftsman. I was unaware of this and I had to push a bit, but Twins ACE did the right thing and took it back for a full refund. If I were ACE, I would re-consider selling Craftsman products. The products are good, but this kind of warranty arrangement is going to damage the reputation of the local ACE stores. read more

I first started shopping here as a Home Depot and Lowe's alternative small business. The service in those places is so poor, the employees are all so miserable, the product quality low. This store is the total opposite, everyone is always pleasant, helpful, and they sell quality products. I expect to pay a bit more for better service but if you sign up for their rewards you can use the coupons on Benjamin Moore paint, the only way to get a discount on BM that I am aware of. read more

I LOVE this store. Period. Your neighborhood hardware store just can't get any better than this. You are greeted when you walk in the door, they find out what you need, direct you to that area of the store, and then here's the coolest part . . . they are all always connected by these ear-bud walkie-talkies, so by the time you get to your area, someone is already waiting there to help you! Jeff and Craig (the owners) are awesome guys. They are super-friendly, and they know EVERY SINGLE THING they have in the store - I mean everything from paint, garden supplies, nuts n bolts, A/C filters to (get this) even home canning kits! I've never seen them (or anyone else in the store) not understand exactly what someone was looking for or not know whether they had it. I've been living around the corner for a year and doing lots of home improvement and gardening, and this store has been a life-saver. They even know who I am, and they know my two-year-old by name! Stopped in to have some keys made. Ace Hardware has always been my favorite place to get stuff done. Not a big fan of the Home Depot and Lowe's. I prefer that good one-on-one conversation and genuine customer service that the smaller stores have. Got the keys copied quickly by the store manager. Very nice gentleman! Wow! We agree. The friendly and knowledgeable staff helped us locate hard-to-find 24x30x1 HEPA filters, a screw for the dresser handle, metal filter for a European faucet, 22-year 100W LED lights at 2700K (much warmer color), an unusual screw-in Halogen light, and a 193-piece Sears Craftsman ratchet set. From now on, we will shop here for our hardware needs. read more

Three years later, Ace is still the place with the helpful hardware folk. They are attentive, helpful, and down right nice. They carry Stihl, Miele, a great selection of bird seed, a nice selection of kitchen items, Zar stains, and a lot of hardware products. Heck, you can get French white ware if you need it.
