Struggled with a review here but ended up with nothing special Check in was fine, like checking into a Hilton and very standard. I booked via AMEX fine hotels and wouldn't consider this close to other options I've stayed at. The room was fine but very worn. Stained lamp shades, the base boards were dirty, vent by the toilet had dust all over it. Honestly felt like a Sheraton at best. Location was nice, walking distance to a lot of sites and pretty quiet area. Service was ok. I called for breakfast and the room service deliver answered but couldn't take the order so I had to be called back in 5 mins? Very odd and typically astronomical prices for food which was average as well. I attended an event here last week and it was lovely! I've seen the hotel many times, but this was my first time inside. The lobby is very beautiful! The valet and front door staff was so kind and directed me to the second floor. The event I attended was there, and there is a beautiful grand staircase to take up to the level. The second floor had multiple event rooms that were very beautiful! They is very clean and well maintained too. I haven't stayed in the hotel rooms, but I imagine the views are fantastic! read more

I enjoyed my time at the Fairmont. It is an older hotel but it has everything you need. My room was pretty big, larger than I expected. The room is nothing glamorous but it was spacious and clean. You receive tea and coffee in the room but there is nothing else. Not even a bottle of water. There is a mini fridge but it is filled with items for sale, If you take anything out you will be automatically charged. There is no space for you to place anything in it. There is a CVS right across the street that is open late. There is a 24hr gym. It is small but it has what you need. If you want to have breakfast at the hotel, plan ahead they get backed up very quickly. The location is great. I was able to walk to a lot of places. read more

Had a recent staycation at Fairmont with my besties who were visiting from the west coast. I was lucky to have access to the Visa Signature program through my credit card and was given some additional benefits of staying here. It was a nice bonus to get free breakfast and an upgraded room. Our room was located on the 32 floor and had a good view of the park. Our room was spacious for a DT hotel. We were very comfortable as three women sharing a room. We enjoyed the turn down service which provided water and macaroons. Those were an added treat. Additionally the room had good espresso coffee and specialized tea. For facilities, we had everything we needed on-site. Toro restaurant was good and enjoyed getting to-go breakfast. Guest have access to the LakeShore Fitness Club and they have everything (sauna, pool, gym, pickleball, steam room, & hot tub). Further enjoyed the lobby cafe who made a pretty decent Carmel Latte. I would stay here again as it was very central location for all the touristy spots and 5 blocks away from the CTA. read more

Our three night stay at the Fairmont was nothing short of spectacular. We had upgraded our room to one of the gold rooms, and let me tell you we were very happy we did. The gold room allows you access to the lounge on the 15 floor. Included is your breakfast, light afternoon bites, and dessert from 7-9 pm. The lounge workers that we encountered, Mandana and Tamara, were so sweet and always were asking us if there was anything more we needed. The gold room amenities included: Nespresso machine and pods, mini bar and snacks, separate fridge for guest use, ice bucket, alarm clock, iron and ironing board, in room safe, shoe shine station, Le Labo toiletries, and an oversized umbrella. I especially loved the two separate sink counters in the bathroom and the rainfall shower. My husband's only gripe was with the pillows and that they were too soft for sleeping. I told Mandana about the pillow dilemma while at our lounge and she had someone bring up different pillows for us within 15 minutes!! They are so incredibly attentive to their guest needs at the Fairmont. We definitely recommend this hotel for any kind of stay in Chicago, and if you can, don't forget to upgrade to one of their gold rooms. read more

I had a conference at this hotel and the hotel staff were great! The food was good, the chicken was a little dry but the fish or beef options were very good. The conference spaces are spread across the first floor, lobby, and second lower basement level so you will be using the escalators and elevators a lot. My conference allowed time between sessions to get from room to room but you might have to run between floors if that's not the case. read more

Just stayed there last week for four night. It's a nice hotel, I do find it a little hard to believe they positions this property as a luxury hotel. The room seemed like it's time for an upgrade. The whole property came across as old. Bed wasn't overly comfortable and the only place you can see the TV from is the bed. The Nespresso espresso pods are a nice touch. The location and price were right, but overall, I was a bit disappointed by this Fairmont. First the good: Comfortable bed, good view from our high floor, and (separate review) the latin restaurant downstairs was great. Why I gave it an "okay" rating: lacked the classiness and high end decor of other Fairmonts we've stayed at, only gave us one bath towel total, ice machine broken on our floor, and overall, it's starting to show signs of needing a remodel. Lastly, the $35 additional fee per night seemed kind of high. You do get $15 back from either restaurant or bar, but the bar was extremely overpriced, even by Fairmont standards. read more

Stayed this week for a work conference held at the hotel. It can be daunting to know your entire two days will be spent in different rooms in the hotel you're in. The Fairmont is so well designed for this, it didn't feel so claustrophobic. We had different events, on different floors, and the catering was well done, not easy for a group of 400. From the moment I arrived, fantastic check-in staff, through all the events and meals, I felt well taken care of. The room was spotless, and the Nespresso machine was a huge bonus. Comfy bed and pillows, plus a separate bath + shower, plus robes. We had dinner at Toro one night, and the experience was top notch. The cocktails are expertly crafted, and the food is amazing. Get the smoked guacamole, trust me. All in all, I would absolutely stay here again, thank you for a wonderful visit. read more

Stayed here for Lollapalooza weekend. Checked in a bit early at no cost. Staff were very welcoming! Props to the valet guys outside they're always giving a welcoming and great vibe! The maids were also very nice and always kept our room clean too! Location wise the hotel is great for walking to food places, shopping and also train/bus! Inside the room, the room was very big and spacious! views out the window were pretty good too! Next time I visit Chicago would definitely come back! The Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park does a cute Winter popup called The Lodge. Pros: - The decor is so adorable. It feels like you traveled to a ski lodge without having to travel out of town. They offer you a s'more with whatever package you purchase which is a perk! Cons: - The vegetables selected weren't of the highest quality. Overall we had a nice stay at the Fairmont. We had a one bedroom suite on the club level. I would say it is only worth it to stay here if you are able to access the club, especially if you are traveling with children. The convenience of waking up and immediately going to eat breakfast when you are on a new time zone is a huge plus for a parent. Our room was spacious for the four of us and we requested a roll away bed for one of our kids to sleep on. The king size bed wasn't the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in, which is sad considering the cost. Also we had issues with the valet parking. We called an our car was not ready when promised and we were late to a Michelin starred dinner (thankfully they were ok pushing us back but only by a little and we almost didn't make the later time!). The staff in the club were very attentive. The food was better than I expected for hotel food. I loved the daily oatmeals available with unique toppings. The 'snacks' at night are really a meal, and do not pass up the nightly desserts! Room was very clean and I am super picky on this topic. So great job housecleaning crew! Location is near all the 'touristy' things, like Cloud Gate, the river etc and the Mag Mile is too too long of a walk in the warmer months. We are staying at the Langham this year instead of the Fairmont but I am not discounting it for the future. Kid friendly hotels are hard to come by. read more

Omg ! The Fairmont, The Fairmont , The Fairmont ! I had such an awesome experience even though I booked a staycation for my parents. The experience was so lovely and more affordable than the other 4-5 star hotels in the area. I booked a gold concierge floor room and although it's a little pricier it was beyond worth it !!! The rooms were pristine. My Dad who is an art collector was delighted by the decor. There's a check in and lounge that offers breakfast and snacks on and entirely separate floor that's included in the room price. They offered complimentary champagne for my Mothers birthday which was an unexpected surprise. We enjoyed the Leaf spa as well which wasn't crowded , spotless, and also offered complimentary champagne , tea and complimentary access for the one extra guest to the facilities. Let me tell you - the sauna with Eucalyptus was phenomenal. You can also make a custom scrub to take home and the facial results were incredible!!! The staff was kind , cheerful, accommodating, diverse and patiently answered all calls and questions during my preparations The best thing I can say without divulging too much is I spent under 1000 which included dinner at Toro and had a Maybach experience for g wagon prices lol I'm shocked at how great and full the experience was for the price. What a rip off This place is far too expensive for what it is. Had to contact the front desk for soap, shampoo which should have been stocked. $31 for a breakfast burrito plus delivery fees is a joke. The coffee is gross and the "complimentary" espressos is maybe 4 ounces at best? I should have taken a photo but there was a strange thing that looked like a scab on the art above one of the beds. The dudes who work down stairs are super awesome and helpful when looking for a cab and that's why this place gets two stars I get the location but so not worth the price read more

I came here for a work conference and therefore just picked the hotel due to the ease. I was very happy with my stay here. The hotel is very environmentally conscious including their water bottles which were made to be easily recycled and reused. Our room was really nice and big and the shower worked very well. The bathroom was also huge! Most the rooms had bathtubs and a shower which is so great. Their lotion, shampoo, and conditioner was so nice! One of the few places where I did hesitate to use the products. I will say that we got a view room and I didn't think it was that great so not sure if it's worth the extra money/night. Everyone was very friendly and even accommodated a very early check in and late check out without hassle. It's located pretty close to most things including Cloud Gate, the Art Institute, and the river. I'd definitely come and stay here again. read more

We were in town for our Smart Set conclave and we stayed at this hotel. It was absolutely terrible! First of all we asked for a suite with two double beds. When we got there, they gave us a king size bed we had to stay in the king size bed the first night and then move to the room that we originally asked for the second night. Who likes to pack unpack and then unpack again on vacation. Secondly the food was some of the worst food that I have ever in my life had in Chicago. I now live in Arizona, but I was born and raised in the Chicago area. So I know Chicago has some good food! Thirdly, there's only one restaurant in the restaurant in the hotel, it opens for breakfast and then closes down and opens for dinner. The bar doesn't open until 5 o'clock. How are you going to have a convention and you can't get drinks from the hotel lobby bar until 5 o'clock? I was thoroughly disgusted with the hotel and I will never stay here again. It's a shame because the Fairmont here in Scottsdale is fabulous.but they can keep that hotel in Chicago. It does not live up to the Fairmont reputation. Oh yeah, I almost forgot! One of my girlfriends fell and sprained her ankle. I called the front desk the concierge several people and no one answered the phone. Granted it was 1:30 in the morning when this happened but there should've been someone there to address a possible Injury like this. read more

Yes, valet is $80, but it has in and out privileges (this is huge!), and they are quick and have a flawless way to get your car with a simple text. Location is one of the best I've found. Huge billing problem that should have been very simple and the customer service phone number (their only communication!) hangs up every time in about a minute without a prompt for live help. The hotel experience was wonderful but this billing issue is quickly creating a really bad feeling, and in addition much more cost. read more

This hotel is downtown. When checking in I found Steven at the hotel desk was not overly friendly. I felt he didn't want to be there,m. I was on fifth floor. Overall my room was nice and clean. However, when I pulled the hairdryer out of the fairmont bag I instantly noticed how grimy the handle was. It could use a good cleaning or maybe needs to be replaced. Overall the hotel was ok. I stayed here for two nights while working at a conference for my company, which is downtown as well. They gave us an excellent staff rate and I preferred staying here over the Hyatt. For an upscale hotel, I had mixed feelings about it. Below are my observations: Because I'm not one of their preferred guests, I got a room on a lower floor and my view wasn't that great. Overpriced snacks and drinks No fridge you could actually use No gift shop, convenience store, nothing Small shower, low water pressure No laundry/cleaners bag (it's the little things!) No pool/hot tub (they do have a fitness center) Parking is ridiculously expensive Limited restaurant (new Latin one coming in the fall) On a more positive note: What I call sexy music playing in the lobby on a loop Modern, Spacious room Loved having a tub and a shower Swivel tv so you could watch from any angle Environmentally friendly toiletries which smelled great Had a bathroom scale! It was my first time going to a conference that was provided for by my company so I felt very spoiled not being on my own dime and having my own room! My one complaint is I had a single room which was connected by another so the walls were very thin, I could hear my neighbors conversation and every single cough and sniffle he made. I would connect my music to the TV and try to drown out noises while we were both "at home". The shower and bath was very nice, no complaints! The bed and furniture was also very comfy and my view was very cool. I was at the Fairmont for a 3 day work event for 500 people. This was an excellent site - given it was Chicago in February, we never had to leave the hotel to attend the events. I was on the 22nd floor - the room was enormous, and while slightly dated looking, it was extremely clean. The service I received while there was excellent - the best I have had in quite some time in the US (since prior to COViD), even in four star hotels. I managed to have the hotel blow dryer die on me ten minutes before I had to be downstairs for a meeting. It also took out half the power in the room. I called the front desk and someone showed up with a replacement in less than three minutes. When I came back to the room about an hour later the cleaning crew had already cleaned the room and restored the power. Room service was also quick - and the chicken club sandwich a very decent room service option. Front desk service was excellent as well - every single employee I interacted with at the hotel was friendly, efficient and clearly took pride in their job. The only ding I can really give is the water pressure in the shower - it is pretty terrible. I don't need mega pressure, but it was pretty anemic and made it take longer to wash my hair. Stayed Saturday and Sunday night in a 1 bedroom suite on the 8th floor. We did not think that this hotel deserves 4 stars. We chose it because of its location. This hotel is overpriced and does not offer the basics. Rooms are missing appliances, such as fridge, microwave, and regular coffee maker. I'm not interested in the nespresso machine, but I would like to make coffee in the room and not be charged 5 dollars for a cup of coffee in the lobby. Not enough hangers. Okay, for one person, but not enough for 3 guests. Had to spread clothes on the chairs. The shower gel in the bathroom was not filled up, and there were no extras in the room. Run out while taking a shower. There is no extra toilet paper. Had to call to request more. You would think that having 5 hours to turn the room is enough time, but obviously not. Nothing complimentary in a one bedroom suite. No personal touch. No luxury. Very basic room decor, kind of dated, needs remodel. One window was all fogged up as the seal was broken. There was some mildew in the calk in the bathroom shower. Poor customer service. Requested extra blankets Saturday night, but I did not receive any as hotel didn't have any clean blankets. Called again on Sunday morning, didn't receive any. Called the third time and finally received the extra blankets. The beds were small. The beds should be queen size, not double. Double is good for one person. Pillows were small, with no support. Toro Breakfast ($26) was just OK. 2 pieces of bacon, one small sausage link. Eggs were cold, potatoes salty. Toast was good, but too crispy for eggs over easy, Coffee was luke warm, had to ask for warm coffee. No one was present at the concierge desk. No food service after 10:50 pm. Bar was closed on Saturday night on Labor Day weekend. We had to leave the hotel to get food. This hotel is not a small place, so we were surprised how dead it was. No activities, no entertainment. People pay just for location. read more

Call me crazy, but I think it's insane to have a fridge in the room that guests can't use. It only serves to sell guests overpriced beverages that the CVS across the street also provides. I stayed at the Millennium Park Fairmont briefly for work, though downtown Chicago was a nightmare to navigate in a car. Definitely had a panic attack trying to find the correct parking garage and get to the airport. Decent city views, though. Staff was overall friendly, and the bed felt luxurious, but a few details annoyed me. Bathtub was delightful, but it kept slowly draining despite the stopper. Nespresso machine was handy, but there were no cups in the room. Not my favorite Fairmont location. Then again, I didn't get a chance to try the restaurants and bars. Next time, hopefully! read more

Mattress firmness was firm but not hard. Pillows could be firmer (just my preference). Not too keen on the thin comforter. I really enjoyed my experience at the Fairmont Hotel. My stay happened over the Christmas holiday where I ended up getting a one bedroom suite on the 28 floor for roughly $295.00 a night (tax and urban experience tax excluded). I have to say the room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The checkin was fast and pain free. During my visit, I ordered room service once and paid through the nose for it BUT I knew exactly what I was getting into. The one snag that happened was resolved quickly. I accidentally moved a few of the snack boxes in the wet bar in my room. Apparently, the snacks are electronically monitored, meaning if you disturb them, it is assumed you ate them. So, in my case, I was charged for two of them by mistake. When I emailed the hotel about the matter, they immediately reversed the charges and issued me a new bill. I have to say this is a really nice hotel. I loved having a CVS directly across the street. Also, when I asked for a mini-fridge, the hotel staff brought it right up. I'd absolutely stay again. read more

We celebrated our first year anniversary here. Let me tell you the service was so kind. Everyone was very nice and our suite was amazing. It was overlooking Buckingham fountain. The room was very clean and spacious. Everyone who greeted us was nice, they were very accommodating. When we had room service they were very punctual. Everything was pretty fast! Their dining area was closed but the bar was open. They're opening a new restaurant called Torro so excited to check it out again. Overall such a grand experience. I really like the room, and it is very nice and spacious. The bed is comfy, TV is nice, and couch is nice too. The price was very good for what u pay for. The bathroom is also very nice. I was surprised how spacious the room was for around/under 150 per night (400-500 square feet, non-suite). The restaurant in the restaurant was also open on thanksgiving which saved me and my girlfriend since we were traveling at that time and almost everything was closed. I also really like the vibe and feel of the downstairs decor at the entrance. Very warm and homey Christmas holidays feel. The hotel let me check in early on a very impromptu arrival which was very nice. My only complaint was that there was somebody's leftover hair shavings in the bath tub drain that popped up after my girlfriend tried filling up the bath tub, and she had to clean it out herself to take a bath :( read more
