WHAT HAPPENED: I blew out a run flat on an AWD vehicle in the evening not long before closing time. I called several large chains who specialize in tires closer to my flat location who all told me crazy things from "they didn't have the equipment to take my tire off and they'd have to cut it off and replace it with a regular tire" to "I could play for a regular set of tires then but a set of run flats when they ordered some" (aka pay for two sets of tires). HOW THEY HELPED: I called North Oaks Auto Service at the urging of a friend. Josh assured me they could handle my tire no problem and waited for me to arrive despite the fact he was getting ready to close. While they didn't have 4 tires that would fit my car they were able to get 4 tires in first thing the next morning and have me on my way by 10am! Amazing service and customer service. On my way home I noticed the time and thought I would pop in to ask for an estimate appointment. I entered the office to owner Joe & told him what I would be requesting. Joe kindly suggested we step outside and estimate the damage. I showed him the few small defects; he noted that the headlight placement had been damaged and that likely all repairs would be roughly $2100. I asked if they did loaner cars during the repair? They do not, but if it's the other persons insurance they should allow a rental car. I discussed the "Selected Service Shops" the insurance had suggested. He stated that those places are usually commission based and that Wayne-Val is just him, his wife & brother-in-law compared to larger shops that are 20+ associates. I feel confident in leaving my vehicle w Wayne-Val and will do another yelp/update this one once I have actually had my vehicle repaired. I appreciated that Joe quoted me a realistic 19 February as what I'd be looking at for a service date. I mostly appreciated that Joe told me some of the questions that the insurance may ask, such as: do I approve used parts? He said I don't have to say yes and he wouldn't recommend used parts and it could only save insurance a couple hundred dollars. Larsen Motors was recommend to me from a mechanic at I different shop (which did not work on my type of car). I didn't have a lot of faith they would be able to fix it, considering the dealer couldn't figure it out. But Larsen Motors took the time, diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue. Throughout the process, they were friendly and took the time to listen to me, two more things i didn't get from the dealer. I had a great experience with Larsen Motors and would definitely recommend it to others.

We were driving from Oakdale by the way. This morning, we drop the car off at 8:30am. I get a call from him at 4:45pm telling me that he never got to the car and to come pick it up. That's a TON of wasted time and lost wages. I get there and all he says to me is, "I have openings starting on Wednesday." I will NEVER go back to The Wonderful Muffler Man (which is hilarious as his personality is the literal opposite of "wonderful"). I guess I'm frustrated with all the wasted time and lack of apology or accountability on their part. I now have an appointment at my local Midas for tomorrow to get my exhaust taken care of for a more reasonable price and they promised me that they'll get it taken care of while I'm there.
