I went to Fairy Nails bc my family had highly recommended them for their brow and nail services. My family has been going to them since Covid happened and I truly trusted their opinion! When I got to Fairy Nails, everything inside looked promising. Everything seemed up to date and everyone seemed very friendly. It was a bit slow tonight so I was seen right away and they quickly got to work. However, throughout the service I started to notice unsanitary things. The ladies didn't switch out their gloves per person. One lady had finished a different customer, came to me, and started working on me with the same pair of gloves and the gloves literally had the previous customers nail polish on it. You can see that her hands were sweating inside that glove. When it started getting busier, they had my Lady with the gloves switch customers and she still used the same gloves. Then, when they started working on me, they dropped their clean/sanitized nail kits into an unsanitary tray that had another person's finger nail trimmings. When it came down to doing my eyebrows, they didn't prep them well and started going too fast on the wax and removal of the eyebrow hairs. My brows became so red after and itchy. It was uncomfortable. The lady that did my brows got a little wax on my baby hairs. No big deal to me, but then when she went to remove the wax, she pulled at it so quickly it ripped my hair. The entire time I was there I felt judged for my toes. Sadly, I can definitely tell they were judging. Compared to other places I've been to, I never had that feeling, but going there you just felt it. They weren't friendly and didn't try to speak to you too much either. I don't expect a full blown conversation, but being polite and a little personable goes a long way especially if you want returning customers. Out of respect for nail salon workers, I tipped, silly of me to do so, I know. However, I will never be going back. Be watchful of their actions and sanitation! read more

Another visit to our favorite salon. As always David does our nails and he always does a superb job. Takes his time and our nails always turn out amazing! Their prices are in line with the market. The difference is that here I love my nails every time and they LAST for more than 6weeks always. It's fantastic overall. I have been a client for 25 years. Since the change in ownership in the last year, the service has been awful. I am now disabled. I was completely ignored by the staff and kept waiting. People who came in after me were taken care of before me. They wouldn't talk to me, and continually talked to my caregiver, even though both of us told them to talk to me. I have never been so disrespected in my life. It took over 4 hours to get a fill and a pedicure. When cutting my toenails, they cut my skin. The fill was painful. The original fairy nails has changed management. Everyone at the shop is new and completely remodeled. The only familiar face is Mary. Prices also increased. Service is honestly not the same. My daughter and I love Fairy Nails! The staff are so kind and conscientious. They do excellent manicures and pedicures and have great prices, along with a points system with very good rewards. This is our favorite place to go in Culver City and the Westside. I don't know anything about other reviews, but my honest opinion is they bend over backwards to do a good job. If your nails chip after 3 days, I recommend only 2 COATS of polish. They want to use 3 coats, but that makes the polish not stick to your nails. Request 2 coats and everything should be fine! read more

This was my favorite nail salon in the area until I walked in a few days ago and realized it was now under new management. I got a pedicure and a full set of acrylics. My pedicure was just ok but nothing to rave about. The manicure was the real issue. I didn't get his name but a man did my manicure and he was incredibly rough. He was told MULTIPLE TIMES to stop cutting my cuticles so short. My cuticles were cut so bad that I was bleeding in several places (particularly my left pointer finger as seen in the pictures). He told me that the equipment used on me was clean and sanitized and I can only hope that is true as his tools made contact to open wounds on my hands. While I was standing there waiting to pay while BLEEDING, I asked for a piece of cotton to clean up my bloody fingers. All the employees in the shop looked at me like I was crazy until another customer spoke up on my behalf. Then another employee put some green drops on my finger tips (i assume it was alcohol.) Also this is 100% NOT the shape I asked for. I asked for a skinny coffin shape with a very narrow tip. He gave me this weird blocky in between coffin and square shape. I had to keep asking him to file my nail down more and he did not listen. Enough said I was incredibly unsatisfied with this service. I won't EVER be back to this salon especially when there's 3 other quality salons on the same street as this one. If you are looking for a salon try Luckys or World of Nails. I went here for years religiously every two weeks with the same nail tech. I kept getting in grown nails on my big toes. I stopped going after finding someone else. Id pop in from time to time to get my eyebrows and lip waxed. The owner usually does it. I think Mai took over during her leave. I went in to get my lip and eye browns done. Check in with the front desk to make sure what you want is done. Sadly I will never be back as my upper lip was burned and I now have a scar. Charge more and do better. Youve been warned. This place is not sanitary. I got my eyebrows waxed. The woman waxed me and proceeded to pull out an eyebrow razor to shave my eyebrows. Then she pulled out tweezers to finish. My eyebrow broke out the next day in a rash. I thought it was no big deal. Maybe I have sensitive skin. Within a span of 5 days I grew a hard bump on my right Eyebrow and and it began to swell. By the fifth day I will woke up in the morning with my right eye Almost completely swollen shut. I went to the ER and they prescribed me antibiotics. After work I went to speak with the woman at the shop who did my eyebrows. I pulled her to the side so that we could speak in private. She refused to provide her name and license number and denied using an eyebrow razor. I will be reporting them to the cosmetology board. They are unprofessional and using unsanitary tools. My first nail spot since moving to California. I must admit, I don't go to them often because I have hyperhidrosis. A condition that causes your hands to sweat excessively for no fuckin reason at all. (Yes this angers me.) It can be embarrassing and very much uncomfortable. First thing I noticed when walking into the salon, were the small fans that sit at each station. They're generally used to fan off the clients because of the heat... but I use them directly on my hands. It helps keep them dry and makes the experience more comfortable for the the manicurist and myself. The spot is well kept and all tools were clean. There's street parking available and a lot also in the back. But, it's small and gets crowded. You might have to park behind someone, so be cautious of this as you will have to go out and move it when the car in front needs to leave. Vise-Versa. My tech, Michelle, is experienced, friendly, and always mindful of what I'm asking for. Highly recommend her. I have been going here a long time because Mary, who specializes in pedicures, is very, very good. Careful and gentle. Used to be more of a 'Zen experience' where one could relax and feel soothed by the music. Now the music is so very loud; perhaps to keep the staff awake? Now a personn can't exhale in comfort, as it feels like I should be up and dancing instead. It's also usually cold in there, as in a draft. The owner doesn't feel it - she is always dressed up to go skiing or something. I asked a staff member if the music could be turned down a bit (it was during the work day, with several senior women around, no young adults there) and I was advised not to ask, since the owner would recommend that I try another nail salon then. I went in for a full set. All I asked for was a regular set. (Squared) The lady was doing my nails however she felt like it. I kept on telling her that, that's not what I wanted. I sat there for 2 hours just to get something that I didn't ask for! The acrylic was so thick. Terrible terrible terrible! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They waxed my best friends eye brow. Then took out an eyebrow razor which she thought was a little weird. Then it grew into a serious infection. I mean so bad her eye was swollen shut. She went back to get the lady's name and license information and SHE REFUSED TO GIVE HER THE INFORMATION WOULDNT EVEN GIVE HER NAME she was rude and acted like she didn't care. My go-to nail place, that my mom referred me to. I was in the mood for some sparkle so I asked David if he could give me a Dip Teal Manicure with Silver Sparkles and Kim if she would do a pedicure to match, and they did an amazing job!!!! Also, they both are very nifocused and do careful and meticulous work, but within a reasonable amount of time. Kim takes the time to remove my calluses since I wear flip flops most of the time and David is very detailed-oriented. I just showed him a few pictures of my vision and he made it come true! How are the ratings so much better on Google reviews? Lol. I got my eyebrows done and so far so good, but I won't be going back for fear of what happened to the other girl who posted. Also, terrible pedicure. She put on a base coat, 2 color and one top so fast she was wiping off the color with the top coat brush. It was lifting and I asked her to redo my big toes which I think annoyed her. When I got home the rest were okay, but one toe was thick at the tip like it was pooling and then finally dried. I'm not even going to bother going back to get it fixed since that's always awkward. There was annoying muzak playing too loudly, tons of flies, fans blowing out warm air and super uncomfortable pedicure chairs. Lastly, she kept trying to rush me out of there even though I got regular polish that needed to dry. $66 with tip for waxing and a pedicure. Oh and the lady who waxed me left wax all over my face.
