Delicious chicken schwarma, basmati rice, hummus and all the yummy pickled and fresh veggies! Everything is homemade. Servings are generous and prices are reasonable, too. I took home half my schwarma bowl for another meal. Saffron milk cake for dessert - so tasty, it went fast! The vimto lemonade is refreshing, and the Arabic tea with mint is very good. Wow- what a delicious pleasure! The meats we tried were tender and moist. The variety of sauces we fun to try out. The humus was amazing. So smooth and creamy- very flavorful. We ate ourselves silly. Our kids found plenty to eat between hummus, soft and fluffy pita, flavored rice, lamb, and chicken they feasted! We are really excited to have this as a new place for great flavor! read more

Falafel Express is an elite restaurant. From the service to the food i give this place a 5/5 with out a doubt.This was my first time having food from there and it will certainly not be the last. The food is amazing so I already wanted to give a five star. But I really want to give more than just five stars because the service was the best thing about this place! I walked in and told them that I have never been here before, and they took care of me exceedingly well. They explained the process of ordering thoroughly and were very patient with all of my questions. They talked in a personable manner, like person to person, rather than in a business-like way. I didn't feel like they were just sucking up to earn a higher tip. I felt like my mom was taking very good care of me. They heard my friend who was with me say something about a Vimto Lemonade, which we were completely ignorant about. We have never tried it before, and they instantly got out samples and allowed us to taste it, and it tasted so wonderful and refreshing. I cannot wait to take more friends there! Hidden in a strip mall and looks like something I might typically just walk by and not think twice about going in. It's short and sweet with fresh ingredients. You can pick between a bowl or falafel wrap. Big portion. Nice options. The staff was very generous and showed and explained all the choices. I love this place!! The food is fresh and delicious. I always get the chicken bowl with basmati rice and you can add the toppings that sound good to you. I always have tomato, cucumber, onion, black olive and feta cheese. The sauces are the best part-jalapeño/cilantro or creamy garlic or red chili sauce! New restaurant - with a unique concept in Mediterranean food. They keep it simple - all fresh ingredients - and you choose what goes in your wrap or bowl. VERY generous portions of meat. The falafel are fantastic - the sesame seeds add a great taste and texture. The chili oil (?) on the grape leaves is a wonderful surprise. My first impression was new and clean. The two owners were very friendly and professional. Very simple menu. My wife and I had the chicken shawarma and falafel bowls. Toppings are chosen deli style so very quick. Very nice flavors and interesting having this as a bowl. A couple of nice drinks as well including mango shake and a special lemonade which was really more currant and mint flavored. Very good. The "Toum" sauce is very interesting. More of a dip really. Like a white, pungent, garlic and oil purée. Maybe best food I've had out of an aluminum take out container! Portions are large. read more

My friend took me to this place after she had been raving about it for weeks. I'm glad she introduced me because it is definitely one of my new favorite spots! For starters, the customer service is exceptional! I told them that I had never been there before and they were super understanding and took me through all the steps to order. It's similar to a chipotle where you get to choose toppings and sauces as well as type of meat. They had a large variety of toppings and sauces. I had the falafel and chicken shawarma in a bowl and it was amazing! Although there is a longer wait, it is totally worth it because the wraps and falafels are made fresh to order! SO GOOD!! If you're looking for a reasonably priced Mediterranean option, this is it! The chicken rice bowl is so tasty. I'm not a huge fan of curry, but the chicken has an ever so slight curry taste that I actually crave (that's a lot for how much I dislike curry!). Definitely worth trying! read more

Being from Portland, where falafels are pretty common, I was so happy to be able to get my falafel fix here! Had a bowl with falafels on hummus, topped with my choice of fresh veggies, tahini and tzatziKi. Side of taboili and pita rounded out my meal (couldn't help pigging out), good prices, strong portions. My friend had lamb and beef gyro, which they press grilled - bonus! It too was yummy! We were in the mood for Middle East cuisine and didn't want to drive a couple extra miles to Mr. Gyros so we ordered here for pickup. The food was very substandard to Mr. Gyros. We got two gyros bowls with lettuce and sides of fries and baba ganoush. The sides were excellent but the entree was FAR inferior to Mr. Gyros. The meat was mealy and seemed microwaved. There was an abundance of fresh veggies but almost no hint of the onions and cucumbers we ordered. The most disappointing aspect to our meal was a nearly flavorless Tzaki sauce, which to me is one of the main reasons I eat Mediterranean food. The staff was nice but we will most likely never return to this restaurant when there is FAR superior food a couple miles away at Mr. Gyros on 135th. read more
