Summertime & ice cream pretty much go hand-in-hand, so it's no surprise that people flock into this shop. With great eats nearby or a soft area for littles to play just outside, this is a good spot to grab a sweet treat. Aye, but that's the rub. The menu, littered with 'specialities', calls for lots of prep work to serve the ice cream. It ain't just scooping from tubs, no, these are more 'artisanal' than they might need to be. When staffing is, ahem, 'challenged', then the line really backs up as people order these items off the menu. Our last visit had just one young lady working, and she was working her heart out. But there wasn't any help, and because there wasn't any help, everything was affected. BOOOOOOO!! So if you're more interested in sharing your treat on Insta or other socials, then knock yerself silly. But who gives two toots about ice cream that is expensive and delivered verrryyyy slowly? Take a pic and make it a still life, because Ice Cream Bae can be more 'still life' than quality experience.

You could probably split one among 4 people. It's also a cute place to hang out, pretty pastel and wood cozy interior. I really liked the shaved ice cream! The texture was light and fluffy and while it reminds me of bingsoo, it's creamier because it's cream instead of milk I think? Overall it ended up being quite rich, especially with all the whipped cream, and the matcha flavor is a little too sweet. Next time I'll probably try a fruity flavor (and bring friends). I think this place is worth trying at least once! Really unique ice cream that I haven't seen or tried elsewhere.

How the HECK did Shaved Ice Cream escape my extremely powerful radar for all things-dessert??…read more Wow - this was such a fun experience, and a new (to me/us) take on an old dessert! Our family came here for a birthday celebration afternoon to enjoy some sweet treats! The attendant at the counter helped us with numerous questions ranging from "What IS shaved ice cream?" to best sellers, and how much to order! We settled on a couple shaved ice creams to share (although they have many other desserts and drinks, too!), which was more than enough for our family of four, and a great way to try a couple different options! They serve the shaved ice cream in a generous-sized metal bowl, on a large metal tray, and thank goodness for this, as things can get a little messy! We absolutely loved both of our selections - Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Oreo! They have plenty of seating in a super-cute setting! Up front are some comfy chairs around a coffee table, and the rest of the space is full of normal restaurant-style tables and chairs! While not exactly cheap, I would say that the pricing is fair, for a novel dessert experience! ...at least for the shaved ice cream. This will be a fun place to surprise un-knowing folks with a fun, different approach to icy-cold dessert! Food = 4/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 4/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

You see I was on crutches plus also had one foot in a boot and the knee on my other leg is in a compression bandage. She gave me an extra chair with a wrapped towel so I could elevate my leg while we ate! The food was delicious and the small plate wontons were just the right amount. We got two pieces of cheesecake to go and looking forward to eating that later.

Sent it back, and the remake came out right. Jambalaya balls were a good concept but overloaded on rice and light on meat. That said, the crispy coating on them was well done. Asian chicken nachos were a toss-up. Chips held a decent crisp, but nothing about the dish stood out enough to win me over. Missed out on a free birthday dessert -- apparently you have to register with them in advance for that, which isn't obvious if you're not already in their system. The space itself is large and open, which made it surprising how busy it was for a Monday at 5:30pm. Staff seemed stretched thin for a restaurant that size -- service was slower than it should've been. The menu is enormous. Between the regular menu, a summer menu, and a special menu, it was more than I could reasonably parse. I stuck with the regular one. This tracks with my past visits -- always been a lot to wade through. Bottom line: Hit-or-miss on the food, service needs more staffing for the volume they get, and the menu could stand to be trimmed down.
