Falafel express reds doesn't sound like something you'd find memorable but let me try to change your mind on this; it is. Nuff said. The service is friendly and fast, the staff are amazing, and the food is so tasty. It far and wide beats the higher prices competitors and fancy chains. FE has a true take-out feel to the establishment but there Are limited seats available to sit and enjoy your food. I've been going to Falafel Xpress for quite some time with very positive comments about them. The only thing I want to say is their pricing! And let me explain. They use to have a menu taped to the front window - that's gone. They use to have them sticking in slots on the counter - they are no longer there. There is a menu taped right next to the cash register. It says Chicken Swarma sandwiches are $9.99. I order two of them today - bill says $23.50 ok, that's $11.75 each. That's not even close to the menu taped near the register. I didn't question it though, but I hoped this is a sensational sandwich for $11.75 . In all fairness, it delivered. I asked for extra garlic sauce (don't know if this is an extra charge or not). It was saucy, with great taste. Chicken, lettuce, tomatos and garlic sauce on a pita (toasted crisp). They were sensational. I just do not understand the whole "what do we charge" situation. I feel, have a menu with the current prices, and go from there. To go from $9.99 to $11.75, must have been a year or two. Maybe this does not bother anyone else - they just pay what they are told. I guess I just roll differently and have different expectations. Will I go again? Absolutely, it's that good. However, this is whole pricing thing does not leave me impressed. As a side note, a chicken swarma sandwich, a small baba (menu said $6.50 but who knows what it is now) and say a soft drink will likely run you well over $20. Delicious falafel! Smaller restaurant - more of a grab and go rather than sit-in... and even after a 45 minute car ride home the food was still hot and delicious!!!! There wasn't a wait, just a no-frills counter with very friendly staff. I ordered a kafta bowl and my BF ordered a falafel sandwich. We ate inside which had no A/C in the 88 degree weather that day but still, the food and service was so good, we stayed! My meal was colorful, fresh and well seasoned. The meat was flavorful, cooked well and the rice was so good. Server put the chili sauce on the side and it was interesting! Like slightly sweet, hot but not overly so and definitely added to the flavor profile. The pickled radish was too salty but was fine with the wrap. I haven't had much middle eastern food but I thought what I had was really good. The service is friendly and usually pretty fast, but everything is made fresh so sometimes you have to wait a few minutes. I would eat here all the time, but it's too pricy for that. Although the food is quality, I think $7 for a pita wrap and $14+ for an entree is high for a place that is very carry-out oriented. What a pleasant surprise! I was in the area and needed something quick but didn't want to wait in the nearby Chipotle line that was out the door. I love Lebanese food and my trusty Yelp app led me into Falafel Express. Inside, you'll find a no-frills spot for Lebanese. They have a fairly big menu ranging from salads and desserts to shawarma and wraps. They also have an "old world" menu and a "new world" menu with things like fish and reuben if you aren't feeling super adventurous or have kiddos with you. The inside is laid back, super casual, very clean and has a few tables and chairs. The staff member who helped me was really pleasant and offered great suggestions. I ordered a gyro to go. Note, there's really no attractive way to take a photo of a gyro, but know it was better than it looked! The meat had a great seasoning, the portion was hearty and you honestly couldn't beat the price. If I'm ever nearby again, I won't hesitate to stop in again! Could not recommend this place enough. My husband and I were coming back from a trip ( probably 3ish years ago now) and our Uber driver told us a place to go to since we were very hungry - he said he was Greek, and told us this was one of his favorite places for Mediterranean food and one of the most authentic. They have a range of items, but we stick to the traditional old world beef shawarma rice bowl and wraps and always ask for their hot sauce! Recommend to try here even if you need to order online - it is as good delivered as it is in the store! If you are dinning in- the family / restaurant staff are always super nice and friendly. They usually give us some background info on how the food is traditionally made and let us try some different hot sauces. Great place! read more

Ok jokes aside it's a no frills Lebanese/ middle eastern place. We walked in pretty late and they were very accommodating and friendly to a fault. It is very much take out oriented but we dined in so to speak and the hummus was legit. Probably the best I've had in Cleveland but then this was a slightly inebriated night and everything tastes better than it maybe , however everyone was on board with saying how good it was so at the very least it's excellent ! The falafel wrap was delicious and the falafel was actually not drowning in oil or otherwise annoying, it was done just right. The Fattoush salad was also on point , very fresh and quickly disappeared from our plates . I'm currently obsessed with the kafta rice bowl. Three perfect little lamb and beef patties served on a bed of yellow rice with veggies with glorious tahini sauce and fresh parsley. You can order it according to how spicy/hot you want it. Comes with warm and pillow-y naan. There's something for everyone as they have "new world" and "old world" items on the menu. Although I am not a fan of falafels I do enjoy other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food and decided to give this place a try. I pulled into the Marcs plaza and easily found a close by parking spot. Once inside there was a short line of other patrons placing orders/waiting for food. When it came time for my turn to order the man at the counter was personable. I went with the Kafta Grill for $10.95. It has 3 formed meat chunks of a lamb and beef mixture that I found to be moist and seasoned just right (meat is made in-house). The meat comes with sauteed onions and green peppers on top of a pita slice with a creamy sauce and fresh parsley sprinkled on top. This platter also comes with fresh cut fries and at least a cup of hummus. The fries could have been cooked a minute longer, but that is just my personal preference for slightly crispy fries (any place with fresh cut fries gets points in my book!). The hummus is pretty simple but the garnish of whole chickpeas, parsley, and paprika really is pleasing to the eyes. I also got a big whole pita to tear up for my hummus and a side of tzatziki sauce to dip my fries in. For an after dinner treat I got one triangle of walnut baklava and one triangle of pistachio baklava at $1.25 each. The latter was not sweet in my opinion, more so it had a buttery nutty flavor to it. The walnut variety was sweeter and although I think it could use just a bit more sweetness (I like my baklava with noticeable syrup/honey), it was still good. *Disclaimer: I actually ate these in the car on my drive home so they were more like a pre-dinner treat instead. To sum it up, I think Falafel Xpress makes fresh, simple, tasty food that will definitely fill you up and still leave some for leftovers! Take a break from that Chipotle chain next door and get yourself a Gyro with that tasty tahini sauce on it! (Or whatever, I don't know what you like to eat). **Update, get the grape leaves! You get like 12 for $5 something, they have a nice subtle refreshing flavor to them (lemon?), and you kind of feel healthy eating them even though there's rice inside. read more

Hey now. I thought the take away from this place was great. I took it all the way from Lakewood to Chagrin Falls, and it held up great. The falafel rice bowl was tasty, and I easily made two meals out of it. My mother, with the chicken schwarma rice bowl, made three meals! Pretty good deal I would say for the ~$8 price tag. We also got the baklava large order. I have never been a fan of finger baklava, but overall not bad. Definitely not the best I've ever had though! Not honey-gooey-yet-flakey enough to measure up. First time here and the staff was very friendly. I ordered chicken shwarama bowl with bulgar and tahini sauce. Really liked that there was an option of bulgar with the bowl. The chicken was well spiced with just a hint of anise, and the bowl had pickled turnips, potatoes, tomatoes and lettuce. I also ordered the fattoush salad and a sid of lentils. The lentils are cooked with rice and topped with caramelized onions. This lentil dish is hard to find in Cleveland so I was very pleased to find it here. Altogether the meal was tasty, just the right amount of spices and the sauce was not overwhelming. Delicious and a healthy meal. I think the spices are a little different from some of the other Middle Eastern restaurants but I really liked the food and some options not found at other places. read more

I love this place. From the enthusiastic greeting I get every time I walk in to the phenomenal food, I can't get enough. The cashier is too sweet! Always friendly and ready to chat while your food is cooking. The guys on grill are always ready to whip up deliciously fresh chicken shwarma and toss you some extra pickled veggies with your hummus if you ask nicely. It's so fantastic to have an "open late" local take-out option in town. M-F they close at 10:30p! I am consistently impressed by the falafel.
