Blackened shrimp Monica with sweet potato casserole, French bread and a side salad

Staying in town and came here for a quick lunch. Everything I had was delicious and fresh. It's a walk-up counter establishment with a handful of entree items and sides. Everything I ate, especially the strawberry cobbler, was fantastic and tasted very fresh. I really enjoyed every bite and I can say it far exceeded a similar dish I've had elsewhere. The service was very friendly as well and I definitely felt a vibe that the clientele were regulars and everyone inside was well loved.

Fallon is the best. Her crew works hard to feed all of us. So proud of them.

    Excellent!

From the moment we were seated, she carried herself with such grace, warmth, and attentiveness that the entire dining experience felt elevated beyond simply enjoying a meal. Rebecca possesses that rare gift of hospitality that cannot be taught -- the ability to make every guest feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and cared for. She moved through the room with poise and confidence, anticipating needs before they were spoken and offering recommendations with such knowledge and enthusiasm that every choice felt perfect. The food itself was outstanding, rich with flavor and beautifully prepared, but it was Rebecca's kindness, professionalism, and radiant spirit that truly transformed the evening into something memorable. In a world where excellent service can sometimes feel rare, she reminded us what true hospitality looks like. She was attentive and even packed my Togo box going above and beyond in my Perspective. If you visit The Rack House, do yourself a favor and ask for Rebecca. She is an absolute jewel and a shining reflection of excellence in customer service for the restaurant.

It's been pretty bad the last two years in a row so this year we decided to try the owner's other restaurant! The Rack House looked very nice upon entry (other than some very dusty barrels which happened to be located right next to our table) and they were playing pleasant ambient music at the perfect volume. We were promptly seated and it didn't take long for our server to get drinks started for us! Most of us ordered waters, but my Mom ordered an extra dirty martini that unfortunately came out as being way more alcohol-heavy than she normally likes, but she didn't bring it up to our waiter. We got the sticky ribs as an appetizer, which the whole table agreed were VERY good. Our waiter was very polite and attentive and brought some free rolls and a variety of butters for us to try as well! My mom ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta while my dad ordered a steak. The pasta was good, but wasn't anything super special for the $23 price tag on it, and sadly my dad's steak came out very gristly and overdone. We told our waiter about the issue and he was quick to take it back to the kitchen to have a new steak made. While we were waiting, multiple managers (or at least what I can only assume were managers) apologized to us about the issue and assured us the new steak would be out soon. Our waiter--accompanied by one of the managers--brought the new steak out, and they waited to make sure it was cooked correctly this time as my dad cut into it. The second steak was an improvement, but it still wasn't very good. My dad didn't want to make a fuss about it and said it was alright. When our check came we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had comped the steak for us. Overall, it was a fairly good experience. The food wasn't terrible, and when there was a mistake the staff was more than happy to correct it. It seems like the people who run the place really do prioritize the guest experience and want people to be happy with the food they're paying for! I'm hoping it's just an unfortunate coincidence that their food just didn't measure up to the price tag this time, but it's difficult to say with only having visited once.

The service was really friendly and my food came out very quickly. Prices were reasonable and I didn't see a hugely extensive menu tho several of the burgers were unique without being outstandingly weird or out in left field. One thing I am DEFINITELY taking off a star for is charging a 3% surcharge to the customer to offset using a debit or credit card. I own a small business and I 100% feel like this is a cost of doing business and not something to pass on to the consumer. Or, if you're going to charge that kind of surcharge, let there be a purchase minimum, say 5 to $10. It annoys me when businesses do this. It seems needlessly "penny-pinchy" and if you're going to accept credit cards and debit cards for the convenience of the customer, that is what you accept as a business owner. My business accepts this as it cost to doing business, I absolutely feel like this is the cost of doing business by the owner, and I will die on this hill. That aside, the food was really good. Fries were hot and crispy and the burger fresh and juicy. Highly recommend and I'd pay with cash, like I did to avoid the "customer convenience fee" which is anything but convenient!

Disappointing Experience at Prime Cut After Years of Loyalty…read more My husband and I had dinner at Prime Cut in the Beach View Casino on Friday night. We have been loyal guests for six years and usually enjoy exceptional meals and service, which made this visit especially disappointing. We began with the Lollipop Lamb Chops in a fig balsamic glaze, along with the pepper soup and spinning salad. The pepper soup was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious, and the spinning salad was just as good as always. After finishing our soup and salad, we waited over 30 minutes for the next course. When the food finally arrived, it was not the lamb chops we had ordered as our appetizer, instead, our main courses were brought out. I ordered my steak medium, but it arrived well done, and my au gratin potatoes were overwhelmed with cheese. My husband's fish was prepared correctly, but his creamed spinach was noticeably overcooked. When we asked about the missing lamb chops, our waitress whom we had only seen once the entire evening returned to say they were bringing them out but would remove them from the bill. I also mentioned my overcooked steak, and it took another 15 minutes to receive a replacement. I requested to speak with the manager to express my concerns about the delays, the missing appetizer, and the improperly cooked entrée. His only response was, "Well, I took the lamb chops off your bill," before walking away. That level of dismissiveness was unacceptable. We have always received gracious, attentive service here, which is why this experience stood out so sharply. Unfortunately, our last two visits have been noticeably slower with declining service.

A surf and turf for me and a lamb chop for her. Was not asked how either of us wanted our proteins prepared but rather told thru the menu. Ok, fine. The fillet came out to the billed medium rate and was seasoned perfectly to where no sauce/glazes were really necessary, but were enjoyed. The 3 shrimp skewers wrapped in bacon were drenched in a sauce that overpowered the entire skewer. I'd asked because the shrimp were a jumbo red Argentina that were different than what could be caught around the Northern part of the Gulf on the what the difference and was told "if you don't eat shrimp that often, you won't notice they are a bit sweeter". While I don't, that sauce certainly negated the possibility of me seeing a difference. The wife's lamb chops were good, but we prefer rare to well done. They weren't cooked to the point of being inedible, but could have been better. The sides of the gratin potatoes and sweet potato mash were...average. Because we paid almost half off our dinner, I rated higher. Had I paid full price, I probably would have complained and definitely sent the lamb back. And a 3 star rating would've been warranted.
