Butterfly shrimp and whole belly clams
    Alex K.

Clam strips and squid. I wish they had more sauces like chili sauce or something spicy. I know it's not traditional. But at least a hot sauce bar would be nice. This place keeps getting more expensive but it's too much of a seasonal staple not to go to at least a few times a summer. The squid is tender but almost raw, doesn't seem cooked enough. I did the onion grade upgrade

Hands down one of the best fish tacos this California girl has ever had! The haddock was perfectly battered and fried, and was so flakey and moist. The mango salsa was delicious. It's a big portion and good for sharing, which we didn't realize when ordering... so we also got clam chowder, lobster bisque, onion rings and a jumbo lobster roll. It's not everyday you pay $50 for a lobster roll, but this one was worth every penny! No regrets!

They offer fried chicken now! Amazing fried clams w bellies. Fun local joint and great prices. We went early in the season in March.

    Small lobster roll

Fresh seafood at reasonable price. Place your order and they text you when it's ready. Plenty of seating. Huge portions. Daily specials.

The fried whole bellies were SOO JUICY. Highly recommend! We also got fish and chips and it was very yummy. The only thing I'd skip is the clam chowder because it was a bit thin. Flying bridge has way better chowder! We came by for lunch and it was very quick. We all ordered lunch portions and the prices & portions were great. Ordering is easy, just get what you would like at the counter and it will be ready in a few min. It's self service so we got water, ketchup & tarter sauce and didn't need anything else!

Delicious lobster roll! There is so much lobster, it's falling out of the bun!

Came to visit Falmouth on evening while in Boston for work. Was craving a lobster roll, so I had dinner here at seafood Sam's. They were doing a very steady business with both in person customers and pick up orders. The line at the counter moved quickly, and after ordering, waited only a few minutes for my meal. The lobster roll was a generous portion for a reasonable price, and tasted great. It completely hit the spot. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

    Fried lobster and shrimp combo

Had the fried lobster and shrimp combo. It was very good (though I'm not a fan of the rubbery ends of the claw meat). Overall it was very good. Ordered at the counter and they texted me when the food was ready. It was quick . The place was very clean and low noise level. I hadn't been in years but I'd return for sure.

    Stuffy. Ok.

Plenty of parking / dining area big spacious. Clean. Order at counter. Pay. Get your own soda drinks. They had some beer. Find a seat. They will call you when your meal is ready to be picked up. I had the fried seafood plater. Scollops, fish and shrimp were good. Clam strips were just not there. Batter but no chewy strip. Onion rings were great. Service was good. I might go back. ‍ was not bad but not for me.

    Fried Lobster and Shrimp!

I had the fried lobster and shrimp! With onion rings. While it's sacrilegious to fry lobster, I thought I'd give it a whirl! It was outstanding butter was a nice touch! Everything was fried perfectly including the onion rings. Speaking of the onion rings, it was nice to have small thin onion rings instead of giant thick ones were the batters just gonna fall right off. Everything was outstanding only thing needed to add was a little salt and pepper! Well done guys, well done!

Fried seafood platter for one, lobster bisque.

Last night on the Cape for a business trip and figured I'd try a local clam shack (restaurant). Got the fried seafood platter for one and a cup of lobster bisque. I still have about half of it left, including the bisque. I think I need some dental work after eating some of the clam strips. Each one was gritty. The lobster bisque had a very unique taste that I can't quite describe, which is why there's 3/4s of it left. The fries were very warm, and so were the few onion rings on top. Only got about 3 shrimp. The fish wasn't bad and the cole slaw was so-so. Doing 3 stars as I'm assuming other stuff on the menu might be decent. Also, the Cape Cod IPA is pretty good, but that's not a restaurant item! I almost feel bad for putting this meal on my expense report. Also learning that just because a place puts a lot of stuff on a plate, it doesn't mean it's all good.

Great fried seafood spot. A little on the pricey side to be honest but there are combination platters which you can choose from to get a little bit of everything. Place was very clean and i enjoyed my fried oysters. We also had a lobster roll and shrimp with linguini which was delicious. Everything made to order completely fresh. Worth the experience.

Whole belly fried clam plate - half portion

I stumbled upon this gem while visiting the area for work. I am VERY picky about seafood - especially fried things. I ordered a half portion plate of whole bellie clams and it came with a side of coleslaw and fries as well as a lemon wedge. The food was prepared quickly and absolutely scrumptious! The clams were tender/ sweet and the batter light and crispy. The coleslaw was freshly made and flavorful - creamy dressing and not at all watery. Tartar sauce and Fries were great too ! I only lament that eating out has become so expensive - but this is everywhere now, .... you don't mind so much when the food and restaurant is so great!

We got both fresh offerings of oysters to start.- so good. For beverages, I had a Maine IPA & Kate had a pear pressure. We really enjoyed them both. Kate got the Seafood Pot Pie. The good news is we try each others meals. An absolute home run! The scrod, lobster, scallops and shrimp were perfect. Add in Newburg sauce asparagus and spinach, top it with a puff pastry to soak up the sauce-10 out of 10. There is a reason it's a house favorite. I had the baked seafood trio. Shrimp, scrod and scallops, with baked potato and asparagus. 2 u-15 shrimp, 3oz of fresh Chatham scrod and 3 local scallops, done in a lemon beurre blac. A small portion of each but delicious. The baked potato was just like you would hope. Asparagus was underdone, by our tastes, but not knocking the rating over that. Overall 8/10. Will try the blackened mahi mahi next visit. Kate's not budging from the seafood pot pie Our server Taryn was nice and busy. They have runners who are all over the place. Owner? out picking up plates and checking every time to make sure we were happy. Nearly half of my life was spent in the front of the house-that's how I treated every person I encountered in my establishments. This place was crazy busy. Every server, food runner, host etc had a genuine smile. Customers were happy, among them, many locals. Our take; if you are here for a few days or a while, make it a point to enjoy a meal here. Pretty confident you'll be happy you did.

In my experience one can tell a lot from a restaurant's name. With cliche names like "Quarterdeck," "Fisherman's Catch," etc. it's almost guaranteed to be average at best. I don't know why but it's usually true. I got a clam roll which turned out to be a mistake. I got it because I wanted a smaller portion than the platter. But the clams were oversized for a roll and too few in number so it was hard to eat. Good for a platter but for a roll, smaller clams and more of them would be better. But the clams though were fresh, cooked correctly, and the batter was decent, not outstanding. The roll was toasted and buttered, and a small lettuce leaf completed the sandwich. My biggest complaint was the tartar sauce, homemade, which was a disaster. Tasted of little more than plain mayonnaise. Unfortunately the fries were almost room temperature. I wasn't going to say anything but when the waitress came by and asked I told her. She apologized, took them away, and returned with a new platter of fries, a very large portion, and scaldingly hot. I was no longer so hungry but ate a good fraction of them, as leaving them after she brought a replacement just seemed rude. They weren't very good though; greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. To drink I had a "mocktail" version of a Moscow Mule. It was way too sweet. Without the bite of alcohol it needed something else to tone down the sweetness. It wasn't cheap either. I should have just had a plain ginger ale. I would recommend trying someplace else instead. Lots of choices in the area.

Well this time I had my chowder there and this was last minute stop for dinner before heading out. Decided on the clam chowder and a cheese burger and onion rings. This place has been here for years serving vacation goers. Ppl typically get the fried clams which are large and good. This time I opted out. The cheeseburger was good tasty like u would expect at any clam shack. The onion rings were the beer batter type not the kind that falls off like other places. Decent slices of onion in the nice batter. Now to the chowder. This chowder after 1 sip your like woooow! Keep in mind that I just had the chowder yesterday so I got to compare. Just enough chunks of clam, onion, potatoes and other earth goodness. But for me I'm a broth guy and like to add crackers. But the flavor just resonated with me . This place was a contender. No one else serves a spicy lobster roll like this, with tomatillo salsa and spicy mayonnaise mixed in with a generous serving of lobster meat on a butter toasted bun. Barking Claw's rolls are extremely affordable compared to most of the overpriced and forgettable lobster rolls you'll find elsewhere in the region, and, like an authentic cape lunch spot, they offer Cape Cod Potato Chips as an add-on. My family are diehard fans of Barking Claw, typically buying one of the first lobster rolls of the season and we're some of the last customers before the cold weather arrives. So we were delighted when Tom accepted our proposal to cater our rehearsal dinner in my parents' backyard in August. He set up in our driveway and he and his staff served our 50 guests all the spicy and regular lobster rolls they could handle, in addition to stuffed quahogs (a New England favorite) and a delicious selection of salads and side dishes we worked on together to come up with. He even found a way to include the previously retired salmon-bacon BLT sandwiches on the menu. Barking Claw has become a Cape Cod staple, so go see what all the hype is about!

We appreciated the creativity of the roll, you don't find a lot of places on the cape trying to be different. We were on the cape for the summer and wanted something different. This was the 6th lobster roll we tried during our summer. This is more like a stand that you would find at a festival. I knocked a star off for the setting. I've come across a lot of these food stands all over the US, and they try the make the best of their low budget location and try to make a cute outdoor seating experience. They have one picnic bench, and the some more seating at this random building right by with rusty chairs. Some folks like us traveled an hour from another place on the cape to try this roll, us Chatham. We aren't taking it home, and had to eat it there. Wasn't any effort made to have outdoor seating. No table settings, lights, streamers nothing. Just one park bench. The roll itself is good, not the best but good and creative. It isn't spicy at all, more like a ketchup mayo on top. The celery dressing, gave it a nice crunch. The lobster is pre-measured in saran wrap. I get that for controlling your cost, it's just a cheap look to watch. Just have a scale and measure there. We got the roll pretty quickly as there wasn't much of a line on a Saturday in July at 11:30. I appreciated the creativity. I think this place could be 5 star with some tweaks on the roll and the setting. I think they could even add some more unique rolls. I want to give it a 3, but I just can't with it being a small business. I think they are on to something that people want a unique approach to a lobster roll. Worth a try, but I wouldn't stress it at its current state.
