It was also lacking so much flavor. My clam chowda was watered down. Didn't have the thick consistency. Had to add salt and pepper. Fried fish platter was decent. They give you 2-3 huge pieces of fried fish. It was very thin but I loved the batter coating on it. Lots of fries underneath. Wow, read recent reviews after we ordered food and before it came and got nervous. It's really too bad that there are such mean people in this world. Our lunch was fabulous! Steamahs for me followed by a tuna burgah. Sheryl had the clam chowdah with a crab cake. Everything was perfect! I asked for the steamers first and burger to come out after and the timing was perfect. I was downing the last one when she presented a perfectly cooked rare tuna burger. We had both the cold and hot rolls (for $45 each) - supposed half-pounds of lobster meat - and there were very few whole pieces of lobster, just shreds and knuckles. Unimpressive for a place that has won best raw bar awards. The service was wonderful, so that was a bright point. There's not much ambiance here, definitely a casual vibe. But I go to a raw bar for good seafood. That wasn't something I got here. The oysters came out, they were all askew, so there was no oyster liquor left as a result. Small oysters, that's fine I guess, but then there wasn't much flavor to them, unless you used cocktail sauce, lemon, and/or horseradish. That was the theme here. The monstah lobstah? Doesn't come in hot buttered, just tasteless mayo cold salad. I also have to think it's rock lobster being used, what with it lacking succulence. The bisque had the same type of lobster and maybe was heavy on the sherry as it was dark and thick with a alcohol taste. Lastly, the jumbo shrimp cocktail. I'll give it to them they were probably 16/20 size, but these also were flavorless and ended up just being cocktail sauce vehicles rather than enjoyable on their own. The batter was thick, almost the consistency you'd see on a fish & chips basket, the scallops were so dry it required a sip after every bite and had a strange taste, tough to describe. The cole slaw container was the size of a shot glass and I think they pre-plate the fries then add on whatever seafood people order as they were ice cold when we received them. We ordered a bowl of chowder to split which was Ok (for $11) but came in what looked like a cup but we were assured it was their bowl. It had very FEW clams, mostly potato w/fish flavored broth. After my purchase the bartenders friend grabbed my high noon off of the bar and poured herself a small glass and followed it with "just a little bit" then handed it back to me. I payed for that high noon. Absolutely absurd service. This bar needs a service training DESPERATELY. So unacceptable I'm mortified. Our server, Rachel, was receptive, efficient and delightful all the way through. Even though I was at a raw bar, we'd been eating seafood all week, and the Greek burger caught my eye. Rachel said it was the first day they were serving it, and she'd love to know my thoughts. My thoughts are....I couldn't put this thing down! This gigantic, tender piece of beef came with a fresh slice of tomato, 3 healthy cucumber slices, delicious tzatziki (I was concerned that it might be a little flavorless, but no! Some like it raw. The Falmouth Raw Bar has its eccentric charms, from its pair of pirate statues, its mermaid logo, its oceanic murals in its dining room, to the fake shark hanging over its bar. It's more well-known for its entertainment, karaoke nights and contests. Its season usually goes from Memorial to Labor Day- tho this year it was lengthened. The fish tacos ($14) were OK. The salsa was fresh. However, their lobster roll (about $15) is one of the better lobster rolls around. No wonder a customer from Newburyport asked for it to be specially packaged for him to take home (and they obliged) The service is somewhat slow. In the summertime, there are great views of Falmouth Harbor&Marina for outdoor dining. The views are priceless, watching the Island Queen ferry and the various boats and yachts. Pleasant. read more

Great spot along Falmouth Harbor, right across from the Island Queen. Great seasonal joint w a decent size menu and great drinks and entertainment at night. They do a killer steak n cheese egg rolls as well as a delicious chicken sandwich(I have a shellfish allergy, go figure!). My friends and family love their seafood and the kitchen staff seems pretty top notch. They got a jukebox and a great patio for Harbor side dining. Prices are pretty good to for the area. All cans and mix and frozen drinks. No draft beer. Better vibe and crowd than Boat House. Cape Cod local band favorites Flydown every Wednesday night and a dj on weekends during the season. Always plenty of staff and attentive for the most part. All chicks working which is what bring in the money and the crowd and they do great. Definitely a regular spot to hit up. read more

The ONLY this restaurant is receiving one star is because of their help. They are caught in the middle between management, the chef and the customer. We just experienced the WORST experience; however, the Manager did comp the entire meal, as he should have! They are named "The Raw Bar" for a reason. Today, they didn't have calamari (fried), little necks, crab cakes, and Ahi Tuna. Ok, it happens! The waitress took our order, which consisted of a spicy lobster salad. She suggested we order a fried platter, in place of the calamari (however, it did not have calamari in it) as it would feed all five of us! We ordered a second round of beers, and one of them was warm. When I brought it to the bar to ask for another "cold" beer in it's place....I was told they were out of the beer! I asked to speak to the manager. The bartender said there wasn't any on the premises, which I found very difficult to understand on a Sunday afternoon on the Cape! I explained I was not angry with her but needed to speak with someone above her. She told me she could take my name and phone number, and he would call me - to which I told her if he didn't I will hunt him down! At that moment, a customer stood up and began to question me....I did loose it, and told her to sit down and mind her own business. In the meantime, the people I was with at the table were told the spicy lobster was not available as the chef refused to make it, and the fried platter came out - it would have fed one person - it was sent back! At that moment, miraculously, the manager appeared. He ended up comping the entire meal. We did leave the waitress a tip, and I personally spoke with her on the way out to let her know it was NOT her fault. We will NEVER go back! read more

Took my two teenage kids to lunch at raw bar a few days ago. We ordered a variety of dishes and while flavorful, not all were what we expected. Service was friendly and fast. Nice staff and very helpful. Steamed mussels were the best dish, lots of mussels, sprinkled with fine garlic, and my kids still talk about them and compare other places. Salmon poke is ver flavorful but isn't really a poke dish. It's lots of marinated salmon with some greens. We liked the taste but the dish isn't a traditional poke bowl with rice. I order a seafood ceviche which was all shrimp and no other seafood. It was very flavorful but should be advertised as a shrimp ceviche. Steamed mussels were the best deal. Salmon poke and the ceviche are way overpriced for what is served. We would go back and we would ask more questions before ordering. read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I went after labor day this yea, and I think I got the b team cooking for sure. The clam chowder was sour and inedible, and while they took it off my bill no questions asked, I watched them serve it to the table sitting right next to me. The lobster roll was no tail meat, and lots of rolled out legs. I loved this place for keeping the pieces large and not too mayo-y, but this was not what I've come to expect. The Raw Bar in Mashpee has always been a traditional must stop for me when I'm in Falmouth. The monster lobster roll was a pricey but "worth it" extravagance. For years it was $25. This time we decided to check out the Falmouth location and I'm sad to say that the price has now well surpassed the "worth it" level, $40. It was still a tasty pile of lobster but I think you can do much better getting your lobster at any number of places in the area. The oysters were also overpriced, very small and sandy. On top of this the service was slow. I'm not sure the prices are the same at the Mashpee location but if so then I think I'll have to find a new tradition next year. Bums me out to write this. Correction: I have been informed that the two Raw Bars have different owners so I will still try the Mashpee Raw Bar next time. I doubt I will ever return to Falmouth Raw Bar. read more
