Stopped here for lunch around lunchtime. They had a good amount of choices of pizza flavors ready. I normally try a regular cheese slice but the just ran out and I didn't feel like waiting. I went with a Margherita and garlic slice with broccoli. The garlic slice was decent. Nice and crispy like I like it and nice flavor. The Margherita was much better. The sauce was a bit sweet but I liked it a lot. It reminded me of a Utica tomato pie sauce. This slice also had a great crunch and was cooked nicely. Stopped here because our girls have lax practice nearby. Was hesitant because of Yelp reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Lots of pizza options ready to buy by the slice including what looked like a good grandma pie. My daughter liked the pepperoni pizza, nice crispness to the crust and she enjoyed the garlic knots. I had wings and really liked the sauce. Small bits of garlic in it and nicely fried. The sauce was a mix of hot sauce and butter and I enjoyed the combo. I've done business a few times with Familia and was very pleased with the service and the food. Even gave a 5 star review UNTIL i recently ordered delivery from them. Was told 1 hr but ended up to be a hour and a half. When I called to inquire The guy on the phone said "It's on the way" with his abrupt flat affect. Where do I start? First off the pizza and wings are absolutely amazing. Especially when you order them fresh I say that because I go in for lunch a few times a week for slices and the slices are very good especially if you get there closer to when they open or around noon. The only problem I have. Is that I've spent thousands at this place because I like them so much but recently I ordered a cheese pizza and wings with extra blue cheese. My blue cheese, was put in the box with the wings upside down and the wings were so hot. It melted the containers and the blue cheese spilled all over the wings. Normally I do not care about this, but I was eating with a few other people that do not like blue cheese, one that cannot eat blue cheese. Because of the great experiences I've had I felt confident enough to call and ask politely if they could refund the money at least for the wings onto my card. At this point I was too far away to turn around and go back because the manager offered to make me another dozen wings. By the time I would've turned around I would have lost an hour of work at the house I was working at and my pizza would've been cold by the time I got back to it. Usually the staff is very nice and I'm not sure which person I talked to on the phone but they made me feel like there was absolutely no chance of me getting a refund for the wings that were ruined by whoever prepared them. Like it was going send the business into bankruptcy or something. Ever since then I've found it hard to go back in there and have actually ordered from other places in the area which I like less just because of this experience. To me refunding a less than $20 order of wings would be a better option than losing hundreds if not, thousands of dollars from a repeat customer in the future. I would understand not wanting to refund the entire order which I never asked them to do but to be told I had to eat a cold pizza and waste my time in order to fix the problem that wasn't my fault just made zero sense. Also, on another occasion I ordered a sheet pizza and 30 wings for delivery at around 2pm. I was told that it would be about an hour which made sense because it was a lot of food, but it was also very close so delivery should not take that long. I ended up waiting almost 2 hours for the food to be delivered to my employees which some of had to wait when they could've been on their way home since the job it been completed. I called a couple times and was told it was on the way and then I found out through someone who works there that they do not deliver until 4 PM so instead of telling me they would not be able to deliver it until after 4 PM they decided they would lie I'm assuming because it was an order over $100 so they would not lose the order. The worst part is I would've gone to pick it up considering I was 2 miles down the road. This would be a 5 star review other than that. Horrible service, the last 3 times I ordered delivery. 1st time 2 and a half hours, the 2nd time the brought me a small instead of a large after waiting 2 hours. Now I call to let them know there's no blue cheese with my wings and my pizzas stone cold, basically said F you I don't care this has been his attitude for each situation. If you want your pizza made right this isn't the place to go. Instead of helping or caring I'm told that I cannot order from them anymore, let me get this straight you can't make a pizza right to save your life, but I can't order from you anymore. I keep wondering why a year goes by before I order from this place until I order from this place. The foods not bad regardless that just about everything has way too many spicy spices. It's that they nickle and dime you. Tonight I was charged $1.00 to split an order of wings from their 1 Large 1 Topping and 20 wings Special for $24.95. I have NEVER in my life been charged to split up a wing order. I've ordered pizza and wings for 20 years and never even heard of it prior to this but I was told that "everyone does it." No, no one charges to split up a chicken wing order consisting of more than one order. You don't even charge for it as it's not ever been listed in any of your your menus you've produced that you charge for it. I would think you'd be too embarrassed to charge a customer $1.00 to split 20 wings into two 10 wing orders. Boy was I wrong.... And It's the reason yet another year (at least) will go by before I order from this place again if I ever even do. Year 1: I went in to pick up my take out and the girl forgot to put my ticket up to be made and then acted like it was no big deal that she forgot so I didn't go back for over a year. Year 2: I was charged for something (I honestly can't remember but I remember walking out because of it and had I remembered THAT I wouldn't have ordered from there tonight.) Owner thought I was a jerk for my opposition in Pizza Shops now charging delivery fees to customers but once he heard my explanation that it's because sad pizza shop owners think they have a right to any % of that charge, that smirk on his face disappeared real quick. We all know that drivers are lucky to get even 50% of that money. It's just an added bonus for shop owners to rake it in because SOMEONE decided to charge the financial responsibility to their employee and no one thought it was "scumbagish." You know, the the people that make your business even possible being they deliver your product should totally pay for the wear, tear and gas out of their pocket, right? I order a "pizza combo deal" that averages $25.00 at least once a week. That's about $1500 a year in sales you loose from a customer like me because you nickle and dime people.
