Just stood there waiting forever until someone finally came out. Prices are already kinda high, but the experience was terrible. Service was slow even though there were only a few tables. Took forever just to order, and the waitress didn't come back at all until after we already got our food. On top of that, staff were loud, cussing, and just acting unprofessional. We checked in and the cashier told us our order wasn't ready yet. We didn't receive any additional information regarding how long it would take and proceeded to sit down and wait. The to-go area was pretty packed with people waiting but the sit-down restaurant side was pretty empty. The restaurant was clean and the host was very kind. However, our overall experience was not super pleasant. We didn't receive our online order until 5:28pm and by the time we got home to enjoy the food it wasn't piping hot or super delicious. I had an issue with an order I placed Sept 8th, and I was contacted by Jesus to make it right. Jesus wasn't available and I spoke with Angel and that was one of the best customer service interactions I've had in awhile. She was very apologetic with what happened, & not only offered to make it right but genuinely was concerned about getting it right for me. She offered for me to come in same day we spoke but that wasn't convenient for me, and she said i could come anytime. That time was today haha and she was just as sweet in person as she was over the phone, & remembered exactly who I was when we began our conversation. She again was apologetic and vowed to get it right and let me tell you she definitely did! My meal came out hot and fresh AND FAST. I was expecting to wait which wasn't an issue but she got my order out in about 10 mins and again it was hot and fresh! She offered me a dessert as well which was nice as I've never had any from famous Dave's and it did not disappoint....the banana pudding. Ordered take out Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, and a slice of pie. Not the best meal I have had from Famous Dave's. Pulled pork was just OK, not much taste. But the beef brisket was dry and tough. I've had Famous Dave's at its best and at its worst and honestly, it's been a mixed bag over the years. One thing that never changes though, the cornbread muffins. Those are the real champs here. Sweet, soft, and always on point. It's not all bad, the service is consistently good, and the staff usually keeps things moving. But the ribs this time were overcooked, dry, and not what you expect from a spot known for barbecue. I've seen this place completely packed and I've also seen it nearly empty, so I guess it just depends on the day. Still, you can't hold the BBQ crown forever. Portions are all good sized. The corn muffins are really good. Brisket is good but could use more smoke IMO. Salad was very good and was the coleslaw. Famous fries made me wonder why they are famous. St Louis style ribs were rather tough and dry. Server was the only one and ran around like crazy. The Cabernet is of poor quality. It's a clean and comfortable place. It took her about 15 minutes just to take our order, and then another 15 minutes for the food to arrive and this was when the restaurant was nearly empty, with only two other parties there. During that same time, the man sitting next to us even went looking for her because he had been waiting a long time for his check as well. Seeing another guest have to track her down while we were already waiting made the situation even more frustrating. The lack of attentiveness during our visit was shocking, especially for a first-time experience. We didn't see Macy at all until the very end, when she finally offered water, and we had to ask for the check ourselves. I give the pulled chicken 8/10. Better than fast food, but not the best. I give the ribs 6/10. Not the worst, but nowhere near the best I've had by a landslide. The coleslaw I give a 2/10. Coleslaw is always hit or miss with me, but when it's good, it's one of my favorite sides. I would never order this again. The service I give 10/10. Angel did my takeout order and she was lovely. No part of this review is a dig on customer service -- that part was excellent. All in all, I don't think I'll come back. It came with fries and pickled onions and a pickle chip. I ordered the Texas Brisket and my kid ordered the Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage. Both were really flavorful and the portion size was not overwhelming. The Brisket had a good smoke ring and was very pliable. The Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage was cheesy good! The restaurant was not busy at 11 when I came here for a work function. The whole 2 hours we were there there were only a few other people besides us. We were a party of about 15 people. Our waitress was the only one waitressing when we got there. Thankfully, a couple more waitresses trickled in later. The restaurant was fairly clean but there was a strong smell of rust. I ordered the Texas beef brisket with a side of coleslaw. I was again disappointed in the food. The brisket was so dry and almost like jerky. I had to put about half a bottle of bbq on it to be able to eat it. I was surprised that it was almost like it was pulled instead of slices of brisket. The coleslaw was great! The bun was hard like it had sat out for a long period of time. You don't get very much meat anymore. The sweet tea was very good! Well my $100 was spent and the corn was considered a new order go figure. I asked is that why all those people left. "Yes". I couldn't understand why it wasn't announced and they wouldn't have waited. Why didn't they prepare for the 4th revenue they knew it was coming. This time the ribs were tough I added broth and BBQ baked in air fryer until tender. It's a hit or miss the small containers for the bake beans was not full nor was the mac and cheese. I've paid for the conclusion that they're unable to meet and deliver during peak business and weekends. It wasn't worth my 100 dollars plus tip. I just have to cook when I want barbecue and sides.
