Like uncomfortably hot and sticky, couldn't even order coffee because I needed ice water to stay cool. I enjoyed my breakfast combo but it wasn't anything special. I think the food is overhyped in these reviews lol The service was great as they all seem to work together. We didn't have to wait for a table although it was a Saturday around noon. This is the best restaurant with a variety of food options. We started off our experience withMichael, who was also the bartender. Extremely personable. We ordered a cheeseburger and a Ruben. We also ordered a Cold War Russian and a screw driver to drink with our meal. My boyfriend greatly enjoyed his beverage but my screw driver was good except I got it at the very end of our meal after we had to ask twice. We actually received the check before i got my beverage. We really enjoyed our trip to this diner, even though we got lost through the back entrance and ate in the cave. We'll definitely try again through the main entrance and finding seating in the upper deck! I liked the wall art, and we were a bit overwhelmed by the choices. I got a hot chocolate, which is the only thing I regret ordering. I ordered two main plates--a BYO omelette and a Benedict. Both were delish. My counterparts had the flavored waffles. Apparently the blueberry was fabulous. The apple, not so much. The prices weren't too steep and it was nice to be able to flag down any server. We weren't sure if we had to take the check up ourselves or if someone would take care of it for us. We asked, and a server answered that she could take care of it--but in a way that we couldn't tell if she was doing us a favor or if this was the standard. She took care of me. I was sat in a corner by the window it was a lovely view of the street. I had a chance to people watch while eating alone. I ordered way to much food for myself. I didn't realize the portions were huge. I ordered stuffed french toast, side of eggs, and side of sausage. I also decided to get an morning cocktail. It was strong and delish. It was just overall very sad. I went with my friends on a Saturday afternoon expecting a cute and good brunch place, but it just turned out to be very disappointing. I got the classic eggs benedict (seen in the picture) and do I even need to say more. It looks so depressing. First, the hollandaise sauce is bland, flavorless, thin, and broken. Just look at the way it's washing off the egg. Second the circular bacon was too small for the english muffin. Third, the english muffin wasn't crispy. I cut into it and the middle was soft and soggy. Fourth, the potatoes were also super bland. Do not be deceived by its appearance! I originally thought the potatoes were gonna be super tasty, but only the outside is seasoned. When you bite into it, it's hard and the inside is literally white. Fifth, the egg itself was not seasoned. I had to add a LOT of salt and pepper to my egg and potatoes. The saving grace was that the egg was poached perfectly - the whites were cooked through but the insides were still nice and runny. But if I just wanted a poached egg I can just do that at home. If you're going to come here, save your wallet and don't get the eggs benedict. read more

Super friendly staff, but the food is lacking. We had the crab scramble and two breakfast combos one with French toast and one with a waffle. All the food was lacking in flavor. The eggs tasted like carton eggs, the bacon was weirdly lacking in any semblance of flavor which seems like an impossible feat, fried potatoes were orange with seasoning that you couldn't taste, and the waffle wasn't even that good. Today was my first day getting to try this place out for breakfast. Getting here might be tricky because it is on the lower level of an office building, but they do have plenty of signs to get you there! We went with a group of 15 for a work breakfast and made reservations beforehand. But we went on a Tuesday at 8:30am and when we walked in there was no one. So plenty of seating! A few couples came in while we were there, but again no wait from what is saw! When we all walked in the staff was very friendly and were there for us right away. They were quick to get our drinks out and checked in on us regularly for refills. I order the pancake combo with a side of toast. I do wish that combo came with the potatoes, but it was still very tasty. The syrup is brought out warm and thin. My eggs were cooked to order. It's hard to mess up pancakes so mine were tasty. After seeing what everyone else ordered I wished I would have branched out and tried something different like the Eggs Benedict. I've never tried it but it looked tasty. Overall it was a good breakfast. If I were you I would branch out and try something different on their menu. Either way a solid lunch/brunch spot! read more

Wonderful breakfast/brunch option in Uptown Charlotte. Three of us decided to give them a try on a busy Sunday morning. After seeing quite a few folks waiting in the cold on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, we decided to enter on the side door and found an indoor waiting area, with complimentary coffee and a friendly host who entered our name into his tablet, which obviously communicated with the host at the main entrance. Not a bad system. After a 15-20 minute wait we were seated in the lower dining room and offered drinks by our friendly server who informed us that every server was there to take care of us, so "feel free to reach out to any of them". Mimosas, please! They were excellent! For breakfast we had huevos rancheros and biscuits with sausage gravy. The food was very good. The huevos rancheros were loaded with black beans, avocado, scrambled eggs, etc. The only huevos I've enjoyed more had fresh corn tortillas on the bottom, rather than the tortilla strips in this dish, but still a solid option.
