Would I go here if I weren't staying in the hotel and had long days? Maybe not. However I was extremely grateful it was there and good. First night I had Caesar salad with grilled shrimp - the shrimp was perfect actually. I liked the dressing. And yes there is bad Caesar dressing. Had a lot of croutons so if you wanted a lot of carbs, he would be set, but I'm not a huge crouton person so I mostly ignore those. The tanquerey and tonics were delicious.l lol. The next night me and my friend had smash burgers and fries. We liked them. Was glad To have a lot of calories bc I really hadn't eaten all day. Heyy everyone let's all go down to the lobby restaurant and have some breakfast because why not! So our coming here was because the hotel messed up and gave us breakfast vouchers to come here and let's just say I wouldn't pay for what they call a breakfast buffet! Well let's start off with the orange juice they gave me I don't know why but it smelled and tasted like metal so bad that I couldn't drink it nor wanted to drink it thankfully there was some V8 in the refrigerator so I was able to enjoy that! The breakfast options were your basic sausage bacon eggs and bread pudding so it was what it was everything was ok nothing to write home about. The bacon was the best part as you can't go wrong with it so I grabbed a few slices and then when I went back to get a few more that's when I found the sushi bacon which turned me off to it so I just got over it and had another piece of their bread pudding which was actually kinda yummy as it was mixed in with chocolate. Our server was very nice and friendly so that was a plus but let's just say that I would have been very disappointed had we actually payed for this. Overall if you get it for free don't complain but if you pay for it by all means don't save your money and go somewhere else because they breakfast buffet was not worth $25 per person! read more

We had 6 nights in Le Meridien for a conference, and had to eat at Social numerous times. It's not terrible, but it's not great. The service was mostly great every time, with a special shout out for the bartenders who all do an excellent job! The food was mostly miss and heavily salted. Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings were inedible, they had so much salt. They do have a surprisingly good smash burger that I'd recommend. For breakfast, the wrap (more of a burrito) was tasty. As hotel restaurants go, you could do worse. read more

Solid 3 stars. The food itself (smash burger) was a 4 - delicious - but missing the dressing on the side I ordered and the server never came back until we finished. I may have ordered another drink but by the time anyone returned, we were ready for the check. Cute spot but pretty empty though it was sort of filling up - seemed more people wanted to sit at the bar than eat. Confusing spot as the entrance to another restaurant is also nearby so I wasn't sure which restaurant was which. Friendly service, slightly pricey but it is in a hotel so it's to be expected. Good place to grab a bite if you are staying in the hotel. We grabbed an appetizer and sandwich. The bartender was friendly and we enjoyed talking to her. Lemon pepper wings are pretty good, ceasar salad good too. Dinner menu is much better than breakfast menu. I will probably go elsewhere for breakfast. They have a buffet, or you can order off menu. I ordered off the menu, will do buffet next time if I do return. Bread was not well toasted and omlette was coated in grease and the filling was scarce. The food was top notch amazing. I had the salmon entree which was by far in my top 3. My wife has brussesls and fried cauliflower which neither of us have ever had and we ate it all. Then the manager Felice came over, greeted EVERYBODY. Not just the birthday girl but she checked in the entire party by table. She was professional, very hands on and added so much value to our evening. Then we headed to City Lights . I had no desire to eat here after reading the previous comments but an afternoon thunderstorm made it convenient to stay in and grab dinner at social. I ordered an IPA on draft but the bartender said he had run out. Tried the ale. It was warm and ruined the flavor of the craft beer. Unacceptable for a place that promotes beer. I ordered the burger and fries. It took over 30 minutes to arrive and the meat and bread tasted very bland. Luckily I ordered the burger with arugula and mushrooms that made the dish edible. Not a fan of their fries either. Other nearby customers ordered salads and those looked a lot more appealing. If I had to eat here again, I'd give one of their salads a shot. Social offers amazing food and cocktails in a great venue! For a starter we ordered the shrimp and chorizo appetizer which was hands down the best appetizer I have ever had. The tomato broth was divine and served with a crusty baguette perfect for sopping it all up. For our main courses we enjoyed a burger and a mushroom melt. The foraged mushrooms were served on warm focaccia bread, with perfectly juxtaposed sweet fig jam and bitter arugula. Bit the french fries were the star...crisp, crunchy, and addictive! Dessert was churros with chocolate cookie crumble, salted caramel tequila ice cream, and mango. I did not taste much tequila in the ice cream, but I didn't much care. It was heavenly! As for cocktails, the list was creative and exciting. My favorite was the Honeysuckle Mule--literally, Springtime in a glass. Local honeysuckle vodka, ginger beer, lime and basil. So good. Ask for Heather! She was a killer bartender with wonderful conversation and a strong pour. She was knowledgeable about the menu and made wonderful recommendations. When she found out that we were celebrating our anniversary with a staycation at Le Meridian, she nonchalantly gathered our names and room number, and when we back to our room we were surprised by a gorgeous spread of Prosecco and chocolate strawberries. That kind of service is so rare these days and was such a delight for us! If you are in the Charlotte area, and ESPECIALLY if you are staying at Le Meridian or The Sheraton, do not pass up dinner at Social Bar & Kitchen. It was wonderful! Five stars! read more

Stayed at the Sheridan hotel for a week, and ate here often. The foods delicious! Their potato soup and vegetable beef soup are amazing! Their margarita pizza is so good, I'll definitely have it all again. The staff is friendly and efficient. Definitely a great place to eat. read more

What can I say about this place,but very slow service. We've been there twice while attending a convention and have had to wait in an uncrowded afternoon for over an hour. No one came by to refill our drinks . We had to walk up to the bar and request refills despite numerous restaurant staff running around. With a small selection of menu items , burgers , sandwiches and salads , it should not take an hour and a half to get served . Both times we complained and they took 50% of our bill. It took forever for them to get my water, and I was one of two people in the restaurant. The staff stayed busy with cleaning the place instead of paying attention to us. The restaurant is located inside the Sheraton hotel on the ground floor. The menu offers small plates such as sliders and side salads and sandwiches to large plates including a roast chicken and fish of the day. The meal started off with the right intent - prompt water service and greeting to take our order. I ordered a small salad with light dressing, emphasized several times, and the salad came out drenched in dressing (other than that it was a good standard salad). I also ordered the fish of the day which was awful and definitely not fresh - it was a yellowtail fish that had been cooked so long it was hard and dry in the middle. Unfortunately, one of the diners in our party didn't receive their meal until well after the rest of the table was done eating. They offered to comp the meal, which was the right gesture, but it was still really awkward to have one out of five people without a meal. read more

I'll give them two stars for the ambiance and wait staff. We did have to ask for bread after sitting for a while which by someone's mistake came out after the food. My medium rare steak came out medium well, and when I showed the waiter, he was very apologetic, offered to remake it and informed his manager, who came over to our table to inform us that since they were remaking our steak he would take my plate and eating utensils. The waiter brought my new steak out, that was completely rare, and when my husband showed the waiter, he was again very apologetic and went to get the manager. The manager walked out, 'heavy sighed' and came to our table visibly annoyed, where he tried to convince me that since the cooks use a thermometer, despite what everyone could plainly see, my steak was cooked correctly. Then he proceeded to take my plate again, even though I had placed the remains of my husbands medium rare steak that he was sharing with me because he could see how hungry I was, and when I said, "I'm still actually trying to eat that piece" he replied, " I need to take the plate and show my chef" once again taking my fork and the food I was eating!!! Completely rude and unprofessional. Very disappointed because the place is beautiful and we are staying at the hotel. I guess we will have to forgo the convenience of onsite dining and drive to a steakhouse in spite of a long, exhausting day. Highly disappointed! read more
