While visiting family my wife, we went here three times last week - and it was excellent every time! From French toast through cheeseburgers the quality of the food was excellent, and the portions were good sized for the price. I have always been a big fan of Famous Toastery as we have one in Charlotte. My family and I were in Myrtle beach and I convinced them to go here. 3 weeks ago today I ate there with my family for brunch, long behold a couple hours later I felt really sick. For 10 hours straight I was vomiting and couldn't hold fluids down after eating their eggs Benedict. I sent an email out to the company expressing my concerns, not one manager or the owner responded back to me. That's terrible customer service and I will never be back to that location and I will make sure to never recommend them in the future. read more

Very surprised in a positive way . High quality food, friendly owners and staff. It had the feel of a little bistro. The place can be a bit hard to find and it deserves a pretty locale. Not impressed. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Staff was very pushy, the waitress who took our order wanted us to order it her way not ours and continued to push her ideas even when we said what we wanted. Had the most amazing yummy California salad with grilled chicken and delicious homemade dressing. I think it was worth the $12 price tag for size and amoint of ingredients. We just LOVE this place !! The Toastery has become our 'go-to' spot on Sundays when we are out and about and want a delicious lunch. Our daughter was campaigning for a chain burger spot at the mall, but service as well as quality is SO hit or miss over there, not to mention it is SO crowded... we quickly talked her out of it in lieu of something she CANNOT resist - FT's amazing blueberry pancakes...which is of course what she ordered, along with eggs and a fruit cup... she cleaned her plate and even voted FT as WAY BETTER than the spot we'd talked her out of (VERY high marks btw)!! For my own meal, I decided to deviate from my 'usual' Spinach, Bacon, Blue wrap - which is SOOO good, and I went for the Black Bean Burger wrap instead... which, when it came, I was - I wouldn't say 'wary' - but more or less, had an 'oh... well, ok then' reaction to the appearance of my wrap... instead of layers of discernible ingredients... corn salsa, avocado, cheese, bean burger, it all seemed to have been mixed/mashed/married/delightfully combined and contained within the spinach wrap itself... I dug in... I always attack these wraps with a fork... the wrap came with a salsa, but I always try the first bite unaccessorized. The mixture was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be... expertly blended so that I had hints of each of the components I was previously unable to identify individually with a deliciously seasoned black bean burger as the carrier for said magic flavors... and lets not forget to mention... that every other bite or so also awarded me with a slight crispiness in the texture of the burger that made sure to let me know that this baby had spent time on a grill !! I went back and forth between using and not using the salsa, and it was just as good with as it was without... veggie style burgers can be dry and taste like little more than warm cardboard, but the one I enjoyed here was exactly the opposite and is what all veggie/bean burgers should aspire to be !! Now, on to my fiancés entrée... he had a burger... a #5, maybe... it had chili on it, I remember as I joked with him about how quickly he would regret that choice... upon his first bite - I watched as meat and chili juices oozed out - and down over his hands... he turned the burger around to show me the perfect medium rare the burger was cooked to... and then just like that - it was gone !!! He ordered potato chips as his side, which he drenched with Texas Pete and munched on while little miss and I continued on for 2nd and 3rd place, during which time Tim came over to see how we were enjoying everything... thumbs up came from our daughter, while fiancé told Tim that twice in a row now, he has ordered and enjoyed two of the best cooked/tasting burgers he has ever had. We are a burger loving family, so I may have to try one for myself next time/next weekend... which ever comes first... We left full and happy and for the first time, without any leftovers... which WAS actually kind of a bummer. :-) read more

Unfortunate I can only give two stars. Came in for breakfast with my mom before a doctors appointment one morning. I ordered an omelet with well done potatoes and toast. My food was great except they completely disregarded the "well done" request. I still ate them without complaint. My mom got eggs toast and potatoes. Asked for over easy eggs and potatoes also well done. Her eggs were extremely extremely extremely runny (the white, not the yolk) and had the egg boogers everywhere + butter. Her potatoes were a lot worse than mine as they were hard to bite, so hard you couldn't cut through them. Nobody came around to see how we were until I flagged someone down for the check. She asked what was wrong as my moms plate had ALL of her food except the toast she could eat. The girl spoke with the manager and we got our check, with absolutely nothing removed and not a single word/apology from the manager who rang us out at the front. Definitely won't return. And I think they're overpriced for what you get. The all hands on dEck approach seems nice until you realize 1 out of the 4-5 people working the floor care about your visit but she's vert busy doing the same for others. It was ridiculously difficult just to get refills, napkins, and a listening ear about the food we couldn't eat. read more

Well they need to save there time doing that because it was no better then a WHOPPER!!! the only difference is the price it was $10.99 and it came with a tablespoon of potato salad. The food is good, but the service--yikes! We are locals and understand that summer is busy; all 3 of us have restaurant experience, so waiting for a table is understandable. But waiting to order; no server checking on you after your food comes; and then having to find someone for drink refills is below par. Our last visit we even had to get up to ask for our check. Come on, Famous Toaster!! They're are too many brunch restaurants in MB to endure bad service. We're tired of coming by to see if things have improved! read more

We came to Myrtle Beach for our anniversary and everywhere we are was superb! However, the service coupled with the menu made The Famous Toastery was easily weekend favorite! We liked how we weren't assigned JUST one waiter but that the staff acted as a team and worked at waiting on tables, together. The flapjack is shareable as are the grits and hash browns. This place is tops! I had one of the fluffiest, filled to the brim omelettes of my life! The western omelette, and it had chunks of ham, not deli shaved ham, chunks! With all the pancake places in Myrtle I wasn't overly excited to have another one but WOW this is not like the others. Everyone is your server so you never lack for anything. My gf got a ham omelet so stuffed with ham she couldn't eat it all I got French toast casserole OMG is all I can say. It was the best breakfast ever!! The coffee was hot delicious and kept full. If your in Myrtle and tired of all the cookie cutter restaurants this is a must do! Can't wait to go back for lunch if I can pass up that casserole!! read more

First time coming here and the food was AMAZING!!! We came and the hostess at the front was very nice and we only waited literally a minute on a ten minute wait which was great. All the servers that came to our table were so friendly and they checked on us numerous of times, I'm so glad that we decided to come here. The wait time for our breakfast was over long. When it came out, my daughter had ordered soft scrambled eggs when I said they looked dry, the waitress told me they looked plenty wet to her. I was served cold Eggs Benedict. When I complained, the waitress told me that since the Hollandaise sauce was homemade it could only be served warm but however, since my hash browns were also cold she would bring me some fresh hot ones. I managed to eat the eggs by stirring them into the hot potatoes. Last trip for me. read more
