    Mushroom Wellington
    Scarlett H.

Spacious and classy place inside the Academy Museum. No need to pay for admission to visit this restaurant but you get to see the lobby area of the museum and you can visit the museum store. Interesting menu, with many items named after movies, quite appropriately! We ordered their hamberger -- good size patty and great fries; we also tried the Mushroom Wellington -- a fantastic dish and great choice if you are vegetarian. Service was very attentative. Food took a while but we came on a very busy day so that is understandable. Great location as you can visit the Academy Museum store right next to the restaurant (no need to pay for admission); and if you like to walk, the LACMA and La Brea Tar Pit grounds are both beautiful and interesting places for strolls after the meal!

I went to the Academy Museum to see the latest exhibits and decided to stop at the restaurant while I was there. I did not have a reservation and was surprised to learn that the wait was about 30 minutes. We were told we could sit at a table in the bar area, but we would need to order directly from the bar. A table had just opened, so we grabbed it. The bartender who had just cleaned the table offered to take our order. I was impressed by how genuinely friendly everyone was. I always think it says a lot about a work environment when the employees act as though they truly enjoy their jobs. The restaurant has a great old-Hollywood atmosphere, with photographs of movie stars covering the walls. Both the food and cocktail menus were fun, with plenty of references to films and movie stars. I was tempted to order the Darth Vader cocktail but ultimately went with a classic martini. We ordered the flight of fries, stuffed squash blossoms, crab cake and burrata. The presentation was impressive, and everything tasted very good, with bold and interesting flavors and the portions were generous. Honestly, I went in thinking that since I was already at the museum, I might as well eat at the restaurant, but that I probably would not return. I also did not expect the food to be nearly as good as it was. I was wrong and came away very impressed. It is a little pricey, but I would definitely go back.

A fancy place inside the Museum of Motion Picture Academy is ok. Try to order the salmon and hamburger, but they were out, so ordered the KFC sandwich, which is simply a bbq chicken sandwich. There is a side order of fries. The bbq sauce is very good. It has a little kick to it. The sandwich was ok. However, the fries were very good. They coated the potatoes before frying them. The fries were light golden brown. It was crunchy and fried to perfection. I had a $9.00 bottle of Asahi beer. The lunch was $44.00 with tax and tips. An expensive lunch in deed. Ray out.

I can only speak on the coffee side of Fanny's since I recently went there several times while I was working nearby. I got a latte each time and was extremely satisfied. They made an actual latte, not a capuccino, which is something that happens to me at a lot of cafes. They use Manufactory coffee. The temperature was perfect and they even made a foam design on a takeout cup with lid! Service was friendly and quick even when there was a line. They also make drinks for the restaurant, so this was impressive. One of the days I also got a Heath Bar cookie which was huge and delicious. It lasted for several snacks and I like the texture and flavor choice.

Had a great experience at Fanny's at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures! The ambiance was classy with a beautiful touch in lighting that made the whole restaurant feel warm, elegant, and cinematic, especially being right next door to the Academy Museum. The service was excellent, and our server had such a great sense of humor that made our lunch experience even better! We started with The Good, The Burrata, and The Ugly, which was super fresh and delicious. It was so good that I saved the remaining beets sauce to dip my fries lol. I ordered the Lobster Cobb Odyssey with a side of fries, and my +1 had the Fanny Brice Burger with fries. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and we left very happy and full. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're visiting the museum area!

Amazing experience! The hostess and our waiters were so kind and welcoming throughout our entire lunch. The restaurant itself was beautiful, airy, and had such a nice atmosphere. You absolutely have to try the focaccia bread with butter. It was delicious! The steak was incredible as well. Highly recommend!

Iconic atmosphere , enthusiastic service, and a good place to have a bite while visiting thé museum. Food is beautifully presented. The mushroom Wellington was a nice change from the usual beef, but a tad lukewarm. Thé Brussel sprouts were a huge portion, well cooked, but the dressing was a little sour. The Asian chicken salad was good. It's on the pricey side, but worth the experience.

Located inside of the museum, however, you do not need to be a guest to dine in here. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. Service was impeccable. The food was incredible, plated beautifully, high-quality, and well worth it. They also have a variety of baked goods and desserts available for dine in or to go. The prices are fair, considering the quality and presentation. We tried a variety of their foods enjoyed all of it. Highly recommended, especially during a day touring the museum!

Burger & Fries - why were they confused about how to add avocado and pickles to a burger? Who wouldn't need more ketchup and some napkins?
    Susan L.

The food was great. The service is just depressing. I was a walk in - found myself surprisingly hungry before JAWS. I sat at the bar and received my menu quickly. Then, everything fell apart. I overheard the guy I ordered from asking another guy how to add my request for ketchup to my burger order in the computer. No one has ever asked for ketchup before? I received my iced tea rather quickly, but it took a long time before I could catch someone's eye to ask for sugar. (Usually sugar packets are a given.) My order took so long that another diner asked me about it. I watched at least six other burgers go out before I finally received mine. I received my plate, and then had to wave my arms to flag down someone to ask for A NAPKIN and silverware. Maybe they thought I didn't need silverware, but I really think they should have anticipated my need for AT LEAST one napkin. I received a very tiny cup of ketchup with burgers and fries and had to request more. The weirdest part was the strange sculpture they put on my plate made out of the pickles and avocado I requested. It's California. Avocado is not an unusual request. Look - the food is great, but the service felt like it was everyone's first day at the bar and in the kitchen. Also, this joint is too expensive to serve such a small burger. Will not be back.

Went to Fanny's for 1st time for a birthday & hardly no one there. It was a Saturday afternoon. So it felt like we had the restaurant to ourselves for most of our visit. Ambiance is very fancy. I love it! Parking is either street or LACMA. The food was good ($$$) and the latte was ok. I always have to add sugar to mine! The staff was friendly and good service.

Food was absolutely delicious after our trip to the academy museum, but I don't think the service could have been more unfortunate. We came around 1pm and it was noticeably understaffed that day as we were sixth in line at the hostess stand where no one was attending for at least 3-4 minutes. Someone finally came and eventually put in our table request, told us we would be seated within 10-15 mins. We saw multiple empty tables that had not been cleaned. About 20 minutes at least went by before we were seated. Eventually our very nice and friendly server came, took our orders for drinks, and after they came, took our orders for appetizers. After about 10 mins, the manager came to say there would be a delay in the kitchen as they had to turn something over and then after that he came back to say the chef had to make the paste we ordered fresh. Everything just moved very slowly. Ultimately the meal took at least 2+ hours from putting our name down to leaving around 3:30pm. Ultimately we were hoping this was a one off service wise but the food was pretty fantastic! So I would definitely give it another try

Great customer's service and ambiance! It's inside the Academy museum of Motion Pictures. I have not visited the museum yet, waiting to go with the kids. Food wise. There are 2 sections. One sit down dining room and one for quick bite and go cafe. I got the food from the cafe as I was short on time. Got the lobster bisque and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The soup was a bit too watery. I did not taste or got any bite of lobster. It comes with crusty bread. Not worth $15 when it is watery bisque. The pizza was ok, thick slice. Not that impressive. They do have other bake good items.

The place is so cool and oh, so fun! The Aviator is a magnificently decorated and themed airplane bar which has a first class and coach section seats that are exactly like being on a real airplane along with seat belts, trays and movable arm chairs and a Flight Attendant bell to request service! Food: we were treated to fries which were delicious! The Aviator offers a nice appetizer menu along with specialty drinks themed to the bar. We ordered Aperol Spritzes and they were delicious and refreshing! All reasonably priced too, yay! They have "cart" service too which added to the airplane themed experience! Service: Splendid! The Bartender and Flight Attendant were attentive and friendly! My friend and I had a blast of fun and plan to visit again soon! If you haven't been to The Aviator yet, plan to do so! You'll be glad you did!

Parking can be a little challenging, but valet service is available if you prefer the convenience. The seating is outdoors, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket or sweater, especially in the evening. The ambiance is perfect for a first date or a romantic date night with your significant other. If you can make it Monday through Thursday, don't miss their happy hour--it's one of the best deals in town. Everything we ordered, from the appetizers and entrées to the desserts, was absolutely delicious. You can tell the chef takes great pride in every dish. Overall, I give this place 5 stars. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

The outdoor space is still beautiful, but , unfortunately the LOUD music ruins the ambiance. People have to scream to hear their table mates. So we asked to be transferred indoors. Music still loud but less people screaming. the indoor space has been poorly maintained, floors are worn out, everything looks, well, old. Food: fried calamari... well cooked, tender, totally flavorless. Caesar Salad with chicken... VERY little dressing (we had to request more as well as salt and pepper, the chicken... dry as cardboard. The only good thing about this experience was the attentive waitress, unfortunately I didn't ask her name. What a disappointment!
