    Garlic fries
    Ellie S.

I've been to farm a few times and I think there are some highlights that do deserve 5 stars: 1. Their garlic fries - hands down some of the best fries I have EVER had. They're incredibly unique and their appetizer portion is HUGE and great for a group of people. 2. Their drinks - also unique, and really good. If you're looking for a good cocktail this is a great option. 3. Vibes - the space is cute, the vibes are fun - great for a dinner with friends or a date night. (Or a girlie brunch!) I give 4 stars because sometimes their menu feels boring - not much changes and it's a pretty small menu. I have to be in a very specific mood if I'm going here, and there's usually only 2 things I'll order. Id love more seasonal menus or just more options. Their service can also be hit or miss. I've been and had wonderful service, and I've been and felt like they forgot I existed. No one wants to be waiting around to order a drink, or to get the check. Overall - I'd definitely go. Make a reservation because they do get busy.

Delicious steak dinner for my son and me. Filet for me, NY strip for my son. Both perfectly cooked, seasoned and delicious sauces. We tried each others. The sides were really good too. Mashed potatoes for me, creamed spinach with crispy onions for him. Highly recommend. Oh and of course the garlic fries are amazing. Good service too.

My husband and I stopped in for brunch. We were sat in the bar area the inside was very cute. Our waiter was kind and attentive. I got the steak and eggs which was pretty good, My husband got the poutine which was absolutely fabulous. I got a latte it wasnt nothing to write home about. If im ever in town again I'd definitely go back for the poutine.

My entree was super good! I got the catfish fry and my girlfriend had the salmon which she really liked and I enjoyed too. The most popular thing on the menu was the garlic fries which we got, but I wasn't blown away by. They were solid but I tasted more lemon than anything, not that they were bad but they didnt live up to the hype for me. The ambience is rustic like an old farm house which is cool, and it's pretty intimate as far as seating. The service was a 7-8/10 for me, I have no complaints.

We were able to snag a 9 am reservation to Farm Bloomington at the last minute for a breakfast with our IU student. It was a pleasure! We dined inside, but there is also a sizable patio in which you can dine and bring your pup (which I am also a big fan of). I had a macchiato that was delicious and a Greek parfait that was absolutely scrumptious. My son had a bacon breakfast pizza. Everyone's food was fresh and beautiful. The wait for the food was very acceptable. There also was very low noise level and the decor is adorable. Don't miss this wonderful breakfast spot when coming to town to visit your student or just in town visiting Bloomington!

OK, the food is great, the service is wonderful and the ambience keeps you coming back, but you really have to try Mariah's smoked bacon. No matter what you get. So good.

This spot has all the hip brunch vibes--industrial chic décor, latte art, the works--but the food didn't quite live up to the aesthetic for me. Everything was tasty, but the calamari appetizer and the fries were seasoned and dressed almost identically, which made the menu feel a little one-note. It's clear they're aiming for elevated brunch, but for the price point, I was hoping for more creativity and contrast.

We were so fortunate to find this place right in the middle of the action in Bloomington. Kirkwood St. is mostly blocked off to Cars, and many restaurants including this one set up outdoor dining. The outdoor area is charming and shaded, the service was impeccable, and the food was incredible. I got the Hoosier Poutine and my husband had the Babe Ruth steak and eggs. We highly recommend this place.

Went for dinner on a non-football weekend night and had great service. Helpful guidance on menu choices and super attentive without being a bother. The room and bar are handsomely decked out, with comfortable, well-spaced tables and banquettes and booths. Makes for a fun setting. The food is seasonal and local -- lots of corn and squash this time of year. The chicken roulettes are excellent, as was the beet salad with Calabrian honey and whipped feta -- a nice sweet/hot combo. The steak frites was perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested, and accompanied by scalloped potato fries. Don't miss the desserts, either. The sweet corn creme brûlée with popped sorghum was totally new to me and delish. The chocolate medley was also excellent. Kudos for well-made cocktails too. Great experience and 100% different from everything else in town. A little NYC in IN.

Other guests were frustrated with the poor planning and left, but we stuck it out because the weather was bad and, well, we figured a reservation should actually mean something. There's a bar side and a less bar side, but overall it does have a bar feel. The menu however, is elevated bar food. Not quite approaching Gastropub level, but more than what you're going to find in a dive bar situation. They were smashed potatoes. Loaded with butter, salt and pepper, and boy were they delicious. We had excellent service from Morgan, who was very attentive. A random Yelp find, we ordered the blackened salmon and a burger. The salmon is the best I have ever had. I feared the seasoning as I am not a pepper or spicy girl. It was neither. Whatever they use, it's perfect. The grilled seasonal vegetables that came with it were unique and top notch. On my second visit, I couldn't bring myself to order anything but the salmon - doubt I ever will. The mozzarella sticks were HUGE and filled with cheese. The wings were great too and our server was kind and prompt. The hostess took time to answer our questions about the history of the location and is the one who recommended the salmon. We later spoke to a manager who relayed it is fresh salmon that makes it so good - so much so that IU sports team request it frequently. The inside of the pub-like setting is spacious with different levels and sides. There is small outdoor seating where dogs are welcomed. The only negative is parking. There is very little street parking nearby and no adjoining parking lot. This can be a problem for this with mobility issues and in busy downtown days. I wish they could fix this issue. Highly recommend this enchanting restaurant.

The second visit was okay. First, the best parts: the cocktails were delicious and I loved trying a few of the different spirits when our server brought us samples to try. Also, the patio atmosphere was lovely as the weather was perfect for both visits. The bingo was also a lot of fun! Overall, the food was good, but on our second visit the service was incredibly slow. Our server told us that the kitchen was running behind, but our friends were at the table next to us (with a different server) and they ordered when we did and had finished eating before our food even arrived - and I had to go find someone to inquire about it as our server never returned after dropping off drinks. She did apologize and take an item off the bill and hand us a few drink coupons which was appreciated, but the experience had put a damper on our enthusiasm (especially after we told the rest of our party how awesome the place was). Will I go back? Yes, but maybe with tempered expectations.

Without the patio open though, I can see it filling up easily. The atmosphere is fun (board games!) and bright but somewhat industrial with the distillery next door. The staff was friendly and very enthusiastic but just a little overbearing for me. The samples they brought around of two of their spirits (a gin and amaro) were very good and much appreciated. As appealing as the cocktails sounded, I didn't feel like drinking, so I got the Last Call mocktail. I couldn't pick up much 5 spice, but it was still a pleasant and refreshing light drink. I had a sip of my parents' old fashioned and Smokin' in the Girls' Room, and those were both really good - I was really into the lapsang souchong tea-infused rum in the Smokin' in the Girls' Room and would've ordered it for myself if I'd been drinking. To eat, I had a mushroom melt (the veganized version with vegan cheese) with the OMG fries. I really liked the sandwich; I loved the giardiniera and the jus, and you usually can't get that sort of thing in a vegetarian or vegan sandwich, so I was really happy to have it here and thought it was done well. The OMG fries were also really good. I don't like fries if they're plain, but these were heavily seasoned with a delicious spice blend. The vegan version of the fries omits the truffle aioli that they normally come with, but they were plenty flavorful with just ketchup. We shared a Thai tea creme brulee for dessert. I am crazy about Thai tea so I expected to like this, and it was everything I hoped for. The tea flavour was nice and strong, and the tapioca pearls were a nice little enhancement. They do an auto-gratuity of 20% no matter the party size, which I'm not completely opposed to, but I think if you're doing that you at least need to have a note on the menu rather than have the waiter tell you as they're giving you the bill, or better (in my opinion) to just raise the prices by 20% and sell yourself as a no-tipping restaurant. But it wasn't a huge deal in this situation; our waitress was good and we would've left a good tip anyway.
