Came to this Farmer Boys about a month ago. I thought that Farmer Boys was normally good, but this one disappointed me a bit. The line wasn't very long, but it took a very long time to get our food. We were on the way to the airport when this happened, and I was a bit disappointed that it took so long. Once I got the food, it tasted a bit stale. The chicken wasn't the best; I'm pretty sure I would have received better chicken from any other fast food place. The staff was nice, but the food was really pricey for what I got. I Iove their bread bowl soups and would usually order it first unless it's not on the menu (I think it's a seasonal item). I love getting the bread bowl with the soup separate because it tastes better when you pull a piece of the toasted bowl and dip it in the soup and the lid is toasted with garlic spread! I was around the area for work and was looking forward to a Farmer Boys lunch. I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl, paid, and settled in a booth, eagerly waiting for my food. Unfortunately, one of their cashiers found me and told me they were all out of bread bowls that day and the only soup available was the tortilla soup. I appreciate that they were super apologetic about it and helped me order something else. I got the sourdough chicken avocado sandwich. The sourdough is toasted and is overfilling with chicken, bacon, avocado, and fresh veggies. My co-workers both got burgers, which were a steal at $5 and a huge burger at that, larger than your typical fast food burger. Too bad there's not a Farmers Boys closer to my regular work place. First time trying farmer boys tonight. As a fast food joint I didn't really feel the need to write a review but am doing so because I appreciated the staff that came out to make sure the order was right. The young lady who took our order was sweet and trying her best but we could tell she was a little confused. We waited for our order, my driver and I both noted that she was confused. As we pulled up to the window, a gentleman came to confirm the order. Which confirmed to us either some is paying attention in the kitchen or they just have good procedures to double check things. The food came out hot, tasty and well packaged. Great first experience. Love the extra crispy fries, certainly a different type of fry as to other fast food restaurants. The meals received today at the Irwindale location looked like they were thrown together. The sourdough avocado chicken sandwich was messy, bread overly wet and avocado oxidizing so not appealing to eat. This is the first time I've had a disappointing meal and for the prices charged & claiming freshness is very disturbing. Good food. I really like their onion rings because they are cut thick and very tasty (sweet). The zucchini pieces are huge. I can eat one and that's it. The burger was cooked well and very good. I am returning here often. As I have posted before the fries here are the best. Also when you go to the chain burger stores the hamburger patties look like they were cut out of a sheet of paper. I want to thank the hiring manager here because all the employees from the front clerk to the cooks in the back are the absolute most nicest, polite, and well trained people ever ! Nothing special. It works but after finally getting over there, I probably will never return and will go elsewhere. Burger is what is; nothing special or anything like that. But what a hefty price to pay. Basic double cheeseburger combo (no bacon, avocado, or any of the special Farmer Boy burgers) was around $14. Absurd for fast food. We've been camping a bit more these days and on our way east along the 210 Freeway, this Farmer Boys branch seems to be one of our favorite stops for a relatively healthy lunch before hitting the campsite. My wife and daughter, who usually opt for the cobb salad and chicken caesar salad are not disappointed with the quality of their salads. On our previous visit we noticed that the bacon bits were a bit burnt and hard, which I also noticed was an observation from others who reviewed this restaurant poorly. Aside from that, we felt that the salads are quite generous in portion and the produce is pretty fresh. I decided to try their veggie burger, which appeared to be the only vegetarian option on the menu. I have to say that the burger was quite tasty with the sauce that they add to the patty. While some garden veggie patties can be high in salt, this patty seemed pretty balanced and is something I would get regularly. We also didn't observe any negative aspects of the service here. However, regarding the cleanliness of the place I think the restrooms could use a bit of improvement there. read more

I should've read these reviews before stopping in. It was my first and last visit. Spent 14.10 on a combo only to leave without my drink....didn't realize it until i was a mile away on my way home from work. I fell for the commercials. The burger was dry, the bread was stale and the fries are coated with some weird, unnatural, terrible tasting coating. I cannot see how they were voted best burger in the Inland Empire.....there must not be much of a choice out there but when i'm in the IE, I go to Baker's. This doesn't even deserve a 1-star. Came in to get food. Got the chicken fingers meal ... upgrade fries to zucchini. They came, we took a bite and they were raw inside. Showed them (Natalie). She didn't even show any concern. I told her I would switch to bacon and eggs but she proceeded to try to charge me more stating that meal was more money. I told her just to refund me but she still charged us for the zucchini (which we kept). Poor customer service, awful food quality. Won't be back. I like the concept; they call it a "fastaurant" sort of a hybrid with restaurant food, and fast food prices. While you do wait on line to order; they are fast and have enough staff to keep everything moving. the stars are awarded for the food though; these guys know what they can do well and don't put other items on the menu. Other places try steaks, chops pasta and other dishes too complicated for short order cooks (imagine expecting a decent meal at Denny's). Farmer Boys goes the opposite direction; the menu is smaller than a full-serve place but by no means tiny. I have had Burgers, omelets breakfast sandwiches, fish and chips, and onion rings on different visits and all were outstanding. yesterday, I had a club sandwich. they serve it on Ciabatta rather than toast, but with fresh ingredients, actual crispy bacon, and just the right amount of mayo; this is pure comfort food. with a very-large Diet pepsi; it was a little less than 9 bucks. read more

So I stopped by Friday morning craving some French Toast and boy was I disappointed, after waiting about 15 minutes through the drive through I get my breakfast and drive off, get to the office about 2 minutes away and I open it up and it's so gross, it's all watery, I didn't have time to drive back so I dried off the sausage patties and eat most of them (gross ) take a few bites of the French Toast and can't even touch the eggs really. I called them up and let them know what was wrong and the women who answered said she didn't know, put me on hold and asked the cooks who then said it was butter. Portions at this locations are always smaller.... Also they use the cheap thin bacon and other locations use the thick applewood bacon.. makes a huge difference. Older Asians I believe are the owners aren't the nicest and the staff follow as them. read more

So I went to this location twice in 2 nights I'm not exactly sure what the girls name is first night I ordered keep in mind I pay 11$ for a combo and she tries to send me off without my drink that was first incident yesterday!!!! Then today I go back only because I was rushing and it's convient for me close to my job pull up to drive thru order the 1/3 bacon avocado cheese burger combo same girl she told me they were out of fries if I wanted to have onion rings Or zucchini she wouldn't charge me for the fries so I said onion rings she still charges me $14 plus change and did not give me my drink I noticed on the way to work I didn't have my drink I called and spoke to her and she saids that all she can do is comp my drink next time so not only did she two nights forget to make my drink she charged me for fries that she said she wasn't charging me for I had to stop on the way grab something to drink eat cold food i refuse to backtrack for a drink!!! I've been to this place quiet a few times and the quality of the food seems to go down from when this place first opened up 10 or so years ago. The prices here are typical and standard. The food choices are somewhat plentiful... but also limited at the same time (depending on what you are looking for. Like they don't have a lot of salads or wrap choices). The service is semi- friendly and acceptable. The tables inside and outside are fairly clean. The restroom (women's) is fairly clean as well. The food comes in generous portions and is definitely high in calories, fat and salt (but that's what most people like right?). Coupons often show up in the mail from this place and your receipt also has a 10 or 15% off coupon for next time. Overall, I'd only come here if I was in the mood for hearty American food and don't want to travel far from home. read more

Chicken avocado sandwich on sourdough, combo with onion rings and a medium drink. Nothing wrong with the taste, however the chicken breast meat didn't cover but half the bread, giving me mouthfuls of just bread with lettuce or tomato. Then the onion rings - count 'em: FOUR. And not giant onion rings like you can get at other take out place; just one small and three almost medium sized rings. So I ask the busboy as he passes about the 4 rings and he says 'yes, an order of rings is four and no more.' Well, I had paid for a few of my friends as well, so I start to study the receipt and see that I was charged $8.39 for the sandwich, $3.99 for the rings and $2.09 for the drink. After the 18cent discount for ordering the combo (woop) I paid $14.29 for a sandwich combo that I could have easily had for under $10 at most full service restaurants. Here I paid about five bucks too much, had to stand and order, fetch my food when it was ready, fill my own drink and then get attitude from the cashier when I expressed my dismay at the overcharge for what I received. To make matters worse, I've called corporate several times to share my experience and two weeks later I still haven't been called back. I got the Bacon boy burger and the breaded zucchini and fries. I really liked the zucchini and the ranch sauce that came with it. I also got a side order of fries and they were nice and crispy, really enjoyed those as well. Main issue was with the burger. The two patties were burnt, especially on the edges and i was only able to eat the inner part of the patties as a result. The bacon and cheese in the burger was good. I will give them a second chance on the burgers in future, i suppose it's possible they're not normally that burnt and this was an unfortunate one off.
