Let's start off with the location. There is no menu for you to look at when you arrive to the location at the drive thru. They made us wait 30 minutes under reserved parking just to tell us they haven't started on our drive thru order due to them being "busy". I only order chili cheese fries , chicken strips and the cali BLT, and one grilled cheese. Some how after waiting 30 minutes and my wife having to go into the establishment to check on the order to later find out that they messed up the order by forgeting the grilled cheese and than screwing up the chilli cheese fries. Who eats chill cheese fries with only cheese?this is the worst farmers I've ever ate at. And I will never eat here again the food is cold and the building is swarmed by homeless people. I've never been to a Farmer Boys but my experience here was great (for a fast food joint)! My friends and I decided to stop by for a quick lunch and we were greeted by a large menu and a friendly staff. I got the $5.99 deal which included a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. I opted in for half zucchini fries and half french fries. The zucchini fries were literally a zucchini cut into quarter pieces and they were super huge! I liked it! The burgers were a-ok. My friend ordered the Farmer's burger and it was the size of my face. So big! Parking was pretty easy to find in the lot even though the restaurant was busy. Food came out pretty fast. Good food and fair prices. Breakfasts are excellent and the burgers are top notch. Ask for coupons when you walk in if you do not have any, they will be happy to give them to you. Also, you can go on-line before you go and find a coupon for just about anything you want to eat. You should never have to pay full price to eat at Farmer Boys........ This place made me laugh. It looks like a fast food joint, but the menu repeatedly mentions the "farm fresh" ingredients and there are little cartoon images of lettuce decorating the establishment. Wow, healthy fast food, right? Wrong. C'mon, people, how stupid do they think people are? They serve enormous burgers and deep fried side dishes, among other things. Are there actually people on this planet who order up a double burger and a single order of fries (which could satisfy a small country) and think, "Yeaaah, baby, there's lettuce on this burger, and it's farm fresh so it must be healthy." As to the food, I hated the onion rings and found them to be slimy and disgusting. But the "Farmers Burger" (double meat patty, cheese, fake guacomole, bacon, lettuce (!!), tomato, and maybe more stuff) was really, really damn good. Huge, juicy, and delicious. My friend and I usually come here for lunch once a week. Typically, the food is great as well as the service. Today it was horrible! My friend ordered chili cheese fries (her usual order) and it was horrible. The chili was watered down and made the fries extremely soggy with absolutely no flavor. She took them back to the counter and let them know what was wrong with them, and they gave her plain fries in exchange for them. Most of the fries were undercooked and hard, and a few had a green tint! Not sure if they recently hired a new cook, but they really need to check their quality control. Ho hum, that's always been my perception of this chain. They offer some advantages over the Monsanto - saturated McDonald's, but I am not certain they are free of fake and GMO products either. Why? I have a chronic inflammatory disease, so I am like a canary in a coal mine. If something is not right, or food is on the edge, my body will react negatively before anyone else. I have felt lousy more than once after a meal at some Farmer Boys location or another, which shouldn't imply food poisoning, rather, poisoning by stuff that should not be-- Be in our food, such as undisclosed chemicals, ingredients, preservatives and so on. My recent visit to this location occurred because at 6am no other breakfast spots downtown were open. I got the French Toast combination. My over-medium eggs came out over-hard. That sucks! I guess the cook should have paid more attention to my order, the only one they had at 6:10am, instead of talking? The toast was good, however. The tube wrapped syrup tasted fake and lousy though. The sausage patties were okay, better than McDonald's, less salty, spicy or fake-tasting. I am pleased to report that my guts survived this encounter, but I couldn't help but wonder if I should have kept driving by to go to Denny's or IHOP up the street? I had a job site inspection with a co worker across the street at the new fire station so this was convenient for lunch. Took advantage of the large free parking lot while we did our inspection. I went with the chicken club combo - wheat bun, chicken breast, bacon, onion straws, provolone cheese, lettuce & tomato, guacamole and ranch dressing, The sammie was tasty and the french fries were crispy and firm. Chased my fast food with fresh brewed ice tea. This Farmer Boys is very busy for lunch due to the location and service was solid. My only gripe I had was the the men's restroom was always occupied! Absolute worst service. Unattended drive up window took 15 minutes for anyone to come to the front. Then they help the people that walked in, because they were tired of waiting from behind me in line, first. Called ahead and ordered. I visited this location this afternoon. I could not locate a speaker for the drive-through, and, therefore, decided I need to go inside. I asked the person taking my order if they could dispense the drinks from behind the counter, as I have had an aversion to filling drinks from a soda fountain machine used by the public since the onset of the pandemic. I thought they were going to honor my request, however when I specified one of the drinks I wanted to order, they seemingly declined my request, as they said they would give me cups to fill the drinks myself. When I inquired with the person taking my order as to where the drive-through speaker is located, they indicated there is not one, and that anyone wanting to order would need to "roll up to the window". (A drive-through without a speaker is unheard of.) There is every appearance this location is low rent, which is ironic, given that it is located next door to Farmer Boys' corporate headquarters. I would strongly not recommend this this location, as it lacks proper convenience and hospitality. read more

My husband and I come to this farmer boys once a week, but not anymore. They get our order wrong EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I'm not sure why we kept going for so long. We order To-go sometimes, a few times they have forgotten to put our order in. We wait the 20 mins to go pick up food and when we arrive have to wait an additional 25 minutes for our food. The last time we waited that long, they still got the order wrong. They've never offered any kind of compensation, we had to ask for our money back the time it took over an hour. They never apologize or update us about our food. I work in food service and I'd much rather have them apologize and let me know what's going on. read more

Outside was crisp, the inside was sufficiently tender, but retained just a touch of the vegetables crispness and flavor. Not over cooked & mushy. Quick, casual atmosphere. It is always clean, even the restroom. Cheerful, friendly staff. Each time they seemed attentive. I get my order as I customize it. Calories are clearly posted near most menu items. Breakfast review only: This place is great! It's the perfect mix of fast food efficiency and prices, with diner food, atmosphere, and coffee refills in your coffee mug brought by a waitress. Dining companion, who was very familiar with the Farmer Boys set up, was a bit bewildered by all of the praise I heaped on this place, but as someone who eats at a lot of diners and had never heard of Farmer Boys, I still think it's genius. You order at the counter, from a brightly lit fast food style menu board, but your breakfast options are basically anything you could get at a diner: pancakes, french toast, hash browns, omelettes, egg and bacon combos, etc. You get your coffee mug - yup, a mug - and go sit down at a booth that has jams in plastic packets, ketchup, two hot sauces, creamer, etc - just like a diner. Server brings your food, and coffee refills. And it's cheap. Really cheap. Two of us ate far too much food for $14. When's the last time two people had exactly what they wanted to eat at Denny's for breakfast, for $14? The food itself was good, but not amazing. The eggs were fresh, as were the vegetables in the veggie omelet. The bacon and toast were both especially good and crispy. Hash browns were just ok. In fairness to the hash browns, however, they are listed on the menu, per state law, (thank you, Senator Padilla, for making us all feel badly about ourselves) at 327 calories. I think they'd be crispier and more delicious if they globbed on the usual 200 additional calories of oil. Bottom line: Great, cheap breakfast option with good food and excellent, friendly service. next time I'm in Riverside, I will definitely be back. read more

Called to complain asked for a full refund was told I have to physically come back to get my refund when I don't live close by. The staff was really friendly, prompt, and genuine in providing their opinion about the different entrees. The food is okay, but rather overpriced for what it is. For example, the fried zucchini was undercooked in the middle and did not have much texture or flavor and the cheese on my burger was not melted. The site has ample seating and the servers come up to your table to serve you, which I would expect by the prices. Perhaps, I ordered the wrong thing (Farmer Burger), but I would probably only visit if it was the only joint open or I wanted to get a breakfast at lunch time. My daughter brought me a chicken salad. It was horrible, the chicken was hard and burnt. I returned the salad only to be treated as though we stole the salad. I received another salad and this chicken can only be given to the dogs as a chew toy. How hard is it to cook chicken for a salad. After being hung up on while placing an phone order, I finally got my order in 9:32am. I was told 10-15 minutes. I fully understand that they make everything fresh and I appreciate that. Upon arrival of 9:45am, I went to the usual takeout register. Nope. Even if you place a phone order, you must wait in the line with the rest...I was told. So.... what's the point of even calling it in? After paying at 9:52am, I waited as other orders went out. No smiles, no thank yous for being patient...nada. After finally receiving my 2 breakfast burritos after 40 minutes (10:10), still no apology from the shift leader on duty. Listen... this is not a one time occurrence. You can expect this lack of friendliness and disregard all the time and at every store. I can forgive bad food... what I can't forgive us a consistent lack of care for the customer. My wife and I ate a leisurely late lunch on Saturday while participating in Pokemon Go's Community Day, and from our seats we could get 3 or four Pokestops! This is a chain restaurant and this location trains teams for other locations. On the plus side is that they move a lot of food and can get your meal together quickly, however they sometimes forget to deliver it. On more than one occasion they have forgotten my order or its been really late. That said, it can be quick, its clean, they make up for their mistakes and I like the hot dogs. My meal of choice is their kids hot dog as a combo. You get everything, fries, dog, trimings and drink for under $5. Overall a good place to stop in for a bite. Parking is a bear. I usually go at 1PM and its not to bad, rear parking is available and if you wait a few minutes something clears up and its free! read more
