The room was so cute and quaint. It had clean (wooden floors eased the mind) and spacious. The wall had a nice welcome sign. The beds were plush and comfy and the linens were clean. The bathroom had all one would need. The shower was clean. The water hot. The room was warm all night. Just outside the room were chairs to enjoy the catwalk and just outside our building some Adirondack chairs to take in the ambiance/atmosphere. It was close to anywhere we needed to be. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's the first time we have ever stayed in a motel, we usually stay at high end resorts but, this place was awesome. This is a great place to stay in Paso Robles if you're looking for lodging near downtown. The rooms are grouped in bungalows of 2-5 units, each room with its own outdoor seating and fire pits in each area open until 10pm. The rooms near the front of the property might feel busier next to the road, but the rooms toward the back are quiet. The property appears newly remodeled with open ceilings and new bathrooms. The basic King rooms have a comfy bed, a small closet, small bathroom, bar setup, tv and chair. You'll find Waterworks Studio and new towels in the bathroom. Don Julio silver, Basil Hayden, wine and mixers, Compartres chocolates and decent snacks in the bar, a portable speaker in the room, bikes for rent from the front desk, and breakfast from 8-10am. They definitely make an effort to give you a decently upscale experience in essentially a motel property. There's one iron to the property that can be requested from the front desk so be prepared if you're in town for a formal event. The shower is tiny and the water pressure was just okay. The walls are a bit thin but with no pool on the property this didn't seem like a party or family destination, so it was never loud. Property is well-maintained and clean. I highly recommend this boutique property if you're looking for something hip and modern. I noticed a review mentioning mosquitoes. No doubt there are mosquitoes in the area. We left the door open for just a few moments to retrieve something from the car and a few mosquitoes got in right away. Definitely keep your door closed. Beyond that, no issues with pests. read more

I stayed here for 1 night and found this place absolutely charming and perfect. The room was immaculately clean, bed was comfortable, the esthetics were perfection.I even enjoyed the fire pit the night I stayed there. I cannot wait to return here. It will always be the place I dream of returning to. And, although the walls were a bit thin and I could hear the guest in the other rooms it was not intrusive and parking was limited. I had the good fortune to stay at the farm house in Paso Robles while driving north on 101 from San Diego to San Francisco. The facility has been recently renovated, and my room was well appointed, and its powerful air conditioner was virtually silent! I was surprised with the quality of the breakfast, which included a variety of local croissants, and quality yogurts, as well as a selection of coffee and teas. Absolutely adorable! You will want to stay here! Easy check in with a very friendly welcome. Room super clean with a wet bar and refrigerator. Nice porch to sit outside the room. The fireplaces were fantastic to sit by after an evening in town. The free breakfast was simple and good in their darling lobby and patio (Not many super expensive resorts even offer a continental breakfast anymore). Sure wish we would have taken advantage of the free bikes to ride into town, but for sure will on our next trip to Paso! read more

From the moment we walked in we noticed the attention to detail that this special little surprise had to offer. The tasteful and current style was comfortable and practical. Each room has a private patio and fire pit that is lit from 6-10 weather permitting. The bed was super comfortable and the products were nice. Again, the attention to detail and classy little touches make The Farmhouse special and unique. The rooms feel like individual bungalows so it doesn't at all have a typical motel feel to it. I won't give away all of the special touches; you will need to come experience them for yourself. We will be back for sure. Room 12 is particularly nice, I think. read more

This motel is a blessing. We stayed here twice; both times as an overnight pit stop driving from Roseville to Goleta. It's not easy driving with two little ones, so we drive during their bedtime, stop at this motel, wake up and finish the last hour and a half of our drive. Comfy beds and pillows of plenty make up for the small shower. Everything is in working order, clean, charming and cozy! Fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, TV and AC in the rooms are really all you need. Think fictional Rosebud Motel from Schitt's Creek meets actual, adorable, farmhouse Paso Robles, complete with friendly staff. Tracy and Krystel, the front office staff, went above and beyond through their excellent customer service, responsive text messaging and just overall understanding of our travel situations. But more about the grounds and rooms! The wooden beams on the ceiling makes the room feel bigger. The two swans made out of towels was such a delightful and unexpected touch that really made my kids so happy! My son even slept with his towel swan instead of his stuffed animal we brought from home. LOL! The location is perfect with Heidi's Cafe and Twisted & Glazed Donuts a hop, skip and a jump away from this motel. There's a great seating and garden area in front of room 24 that's perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. The only down side is based on your personal preferences. I'm not a light sleeper but if you are bring earplugs and ask for room 8, away from the main road. If you're wanting top of line, fancy everything or a restaurant inside your hotel or you don't want to walk a block to get donuts, don't stay here. Otherwise what are you waiting for? Just call them and have peace of mind that you found a great, safe place to lay your head at night without the Paso price tag. read more

High season for accommodations in the town of Paso Robles essentially boils down to 1 weekend: the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Festival. Since I miraculously scored a ticket for that fabled event, I needed to figure out a way to stay in town without shelling out some serious $$$. The Farmhouse Motel was my solution. The trick was I reserved a room with free cancellation as soon as the event date was announced. Long before tickets even went on sale. Yup, I had my room set even before I had any idea I'd actually get a ticket. If I didn't get a ticket, I'd just cancel the room. For a place to crash during an epic beer drinking weekend, the Farmhouse Motel did just fine. The room rate was reasonable because I booked so far ahead. Parking was adequate. The room was small & somewhat minimal, but clean, cozy, & quaint. It was quiet & the bed was comfortable, so I slept deeply. The shower was tiny. For the weekend of the Firestone Walker Invitational, when I later noticed room rates in Paso Robles skyrocketed, the Farmhouse Motel was a good place to stay at a good price. If I'm somehow lucky enough to ever attend that beer festival again, I'll probably be looking into staying here again too. read more

If you're looking for corporate, standard fare lodging, keep looking. Each lavishly refurbished room in this 1950's motor court is filled with unique and handmade decorator items artfully placed throughout. Super friendly and helpful staff at every level. Breakfast features locally sourced gourmet pastries and coffee with linen napkins. The only thing that stopped me from giving five stars is the complete lack of in-room information. Not only are there no instructions on how to operate the very complicated in room, coffee maker - which, by the way, I never got working - there is no information regarding checkout times, TV operation, local food, options, etc. Apart from that, though, this is a win. Charming, sweet owners. Inexpensive, especially for the location. Just know you might have to rough it a bit. On the plus side, our room was small, which is good because we didn't want to pay for big. And clean! Especially the bathroom, which was recently remodeled to be modern but not fancy. On downside, ceiling fan didn't work, and shower was insane--changed from HOT to cold over and over. I couldn't get the heater to work, but oh well, that's what blankets are for. We didn't pay for the Taj Mahal, and we did't get it either. +1 for super friendly owners who really do care about their customers. The rooms will catch up, I am sure. Tell them Rob, the guy who offered to take linens and make up Room 19 himself in exchange for a free drink downtown, recommended the place. read more

I would give this motel a 3 1/2 but as you know we can't do that half stuff. Pros: Location - On Spring Street close to downtown if you want to walk or two minutes away to drive. Clean - The rooms were clean Staff - Everyone we talked to was very friendly Cute - Has some cute features like little outdoor areas to sit if you are inclined to do so. Design - I liked that the units were spread out and there was only two together. Cons: Dated - A little dated on the inside and out but they have worked to improve it so not as bad as some places. Parking - There is parking, but you have to be careful as it surrounds all the units that are spread out. Bathroom - Small and the shower was very small, reminded me of a cruise ship shower stall. Overall if you don't want to stay at a larger hotel because their rooms tend to go well over $200.00 this is a nice place to stay the night for a short visit. read more

What a gem! It's obvious this place is well cared for. The room was immaculate & the property was neatly groomed into little pathways and sitting nooks. The price was right, our pup was welcome, and Kevin at the front desk sealed the deal with his warm and cheerful personality. We were only passing through, but easily could've stayed the duration and enjoyed the town from this comfortable and convenient spot. On Kevin's recommendation, we walked the few blocks to Downtown and enjoyed dinner and wine tasting encircling the park. In the morning, our biggest choice was donuts on one side of the motel, or a breakfast diner on the other. (The donuts were divine!!!!) This visit was an accidental find, but next time we will seek out Farmhouse on purpose. read more

This place is fantastic. Beautiful, high quality renovation on a classic roadside motel style place. Breakfast is simple but delicious, I borrowed a bike to ride the 4 blocks into downtown, sat by one of the many fireplaces throughout the property at night, enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Its a very decent price for the quality of stay. Street was a little noisy at times so in the future I might request one of the rooms set farther away from the street. Will definitely be back. read more

A couple complaints: music is piped everywhere on the property into the night. Quiet would be more pleasant. Also, our bill included a $20 "amenity fee" per night. Really sweet and helpful check in staff. Our room was ready about an hour before check in. Plenty of parking around the property, and everything is close so no problem walking to the room. We loved the vaulted ceilings and fireplace heater- it worked GREAT on a cold night. It's a motel, so the shower is a little outdated, etc, but everything was clean and comfy. Location is right down the street from the main town. You can walk, or we just drove a few minutes since there's free town parking anyway on weekends. It is on the main road which I didn't realize at first, but we didn't hear any noise or have issues. read more

A room in June within easy walking distance to downtown Paso Robles for a total cost (including tax) of $89 ($99 w/dog)??? The Farmhouse Motel offers clean, quaint, well-appointed rooms with sitting areas in front of rooms and a picnic area. The people at the front desk are so friendly, and there are lots of grassy areas (including doggie bags) to walk dogs. The towels are thick, and the house cleaners even leave towel animals and decorations. We'll definitely stay here on our next trip to Paso! read more

My sister left her scarf in the room and they called us up about an hour after we left and asked us if we were still in town! So nice! Great location. It is near downtown and the freeway. The room was about $90 a night (on a weekday) There is a microwave and fridge in the room. No breakfast options The shower was a bit dingy and there was some hair around the drain. Very cute Motel, the renovations seemed to be well done. The fire pits were nice even tho the days were quite warm. What keeps this from being a 5 star review were: 1)very limited storage space in the room for luggage & belongings, only one luggage stand & no drawers or space to put items away that didn't need to be hung in the closet. 2) Our room was missed by housekeeping (we were out of the room at 11:00 am) tho the front desk did offer to hand me fresh towels and clean coffee cups when I asked about the housekeeping at 8:00PM and 3) we booked this location in part due to the inclusion of a continental breakfast which we we able to access on June 30 but the next morning of July 1 we were informed that there was no longer a breakfast being offered starting that day. One would think that upon checking in, that information would have been shared with the guests. Or since the Motel uses text messenging to check in with you after your arrival, one would think that this same system could have informed guests of the change in an advertised amenity. We were told to go to the other hotel property & purchase breakfast there, which we did NOT do. 4) Our last concern for this property was the apparent lack of concern for the wasting of power/resources- there were several rooms on our 2nd night that were unoccupied & yet the lights were left on inside as well as out all night. Hopefully, once housekeeping addressed our room, they were able to recycle items that we purposely didn't put in the waste can as no place was easily found for recycling items. Not a very high Eco tourism friendly Motel. read more

It's a budget hotel. Clean, spacious, and under $80 bucks. It's a good deal, considering that all the other hotels ran about $200 more. However, some of the rooms have a funny smell to them. We asked to switch, and the lady at the front desk gave us a few sets of keys so that we could choose a room we were comfortable with(Room 12). Yeah, I'd stay there again, but I probably wont be back to Paso until I'm in my mid-50s. read more

My husband surprised me with a trip to Paso Robles for a brewery tour of the Firestone Walker Brewery. This was only 5 minutes away. I LOVED THIS PLACE! It was so cute and quaint. It didn't feel like a hotel or motel. It felt like a little private cottage. Each building has 2 little studios and they have a patio and everything with a little dinette set to enjoy a beer or your morning coffee. The beds were pretty comfortable with enough pillows and bedding. There was a little kitchenette with a coffee maker and coffee plus flavored cream! They had a pretty big fridge, apartment size. And a microwave. Great channels on the tv! Nice little closet, and the exposed beams on the ceiling just made it that much more homey. The bathroom is the only reason I knocked a star off. Well the shower. It was so tiny and very dated! But the rest of the bathroom was okay for our needs. When we checked out she told us to call for a better rate rather than book online. Good to know! I would have loved Farmhouse Motel much more if the heater in my room actually worked, therefore that's why I'm only giving them 3 stars this time around. Everything else was great here and I would definitely come again. The people who own and run this joint are super friendly and welcome dogs. They only charge about $10 per pet and the rates range from 59 to 89 a night depending on the day of the week you stay. The way they do business is very simple and uncomplicated. They don't have a boat load of rules concerning your pet and you pay upfront before they give you a rom key. If you have to leave super early in the morning they have a key slot that you drop your keys into, which is smart and convenient. The rooms are very neat and seem clean and they have a mini coffee maker, fridge, fan, and portable heater. The night we spent here was very restful and pretty darn quiet. Everyone else's pets were very well behaved, which was great! There are plenty of restaurant's 3-5 minutes away and the area seems safe and quiet. I love it here and I highly recommend this place if you need a pet friendly place to stay. 2 thumbs up for FM!!! read more

First time here and we will for sure return. Charming 40's motel with almost all the amenities of a larger motel. Friendly staff and super clean rooms. Hairdryer and iron in our room as well as the standard soap and lotion. Plugs to charge phones, watches, and laptops a bit tricky but bring plugs and longer cords and you will be fine. Can't beat the price and our bed was comfortable. Loved it! read more
