Split a chicken fried steak and eggs, with some fried okra added on. Was enough for two adults (although one of use felt like being more of a pig). Everything was good. The chicken fried steak was a little grease soaked, and could've been crispier, but hey, no big deal. I think the gravy may have been canned, but it was still good. The cubed potatoes crispy. The tea was nice and strong just like you expect. Good stuff. Service was attentive, friendly, and as fast as possible given the post-church rush. I was satisfied. The overall ambience was clean, efficient, not spartan, and comfortable. It wasn't kitschy though, which a place called the Farmhouse might be (think Cracker Barrel). Anyway, solid grub. Great food great service. This is definitely a restaurant to revisit. Selina was our waitress. She was great. One of the best waitresses we have had in a long time. I got the fried chicken, half a chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra. My wife got the hamburger and my daughter got the grilled chicken breast burger. Edger got the chicken fried steak with brown gravy. There were no complaints and no leftovers. There is a gift shop upstairs, small and quaint. In my opinion one of the best cafe's in Branson is the Farmhouse in the old Branson downtown. It's a small cafe. It's not fancy by any means. The parking is plentiful ( if you are the only car in town). Otherwise curbside parking is scarce. The service is friendly and professional. They keep check on your needs. My wife ordered Ham & scrambled eggs with country style potatoes. I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs with country potatoes. Both meals came with fresh homemade biscuits & gravy. It must have been an off day for them since it was recommended by our hotel desk clerk as a locally owned restaurant and not a chain. We ate a late lunch at the Farmhouse today. My wife had an omelette $13.99, and said it was one of driest ever and not hot. I had an average burger $13.99 and redskin mashed potatoes that were good. Total with tip was $35.82, so a bit pricey for average quality. They pushed cobbler for dessert, but it didn't look great either for $7.99 + $1.99 extra for a la mode. It was not large enough for me to share for sure. I did see a plate of open face beef come out with mashed potatoes/gravy and bread that I would call Beef Manhattan. There is a cute store area to hang out in while you wait. The food here is plentiful and very filling. Drinks are served in cute mason jars and cups. Service was top-notch. This is a wonderful place to eat. Our group of 4 arrived at 11 am and had a bit of a wait but well worth it. Breakfast all day if you prefer. We all went for the breakfast and had a super server in Shawn. One of the things we do when eating out is to ask the server if we can pray with them and if they have a particular need. Shawn accepted Christ a week ago and was struggling with outside pressures and was so relieved to pray with us. Food was wonderfull. Biscuits and gravy exactly like make them. If you are wanting a casual dining experience, move on. The Farmhouse is a diner and has the diner sounds you expect. We loved it. Be sure to stop by, you won't regret it. Ask for Shawn. This is the go to place 15 min wait at 10 am was well worth the wait. Seated in Jordans area. He is a great server and very attentive to all his tables. 2 eggs cooked perfectly. House potatoes and a biscuit that covers 1/2 the plate. OMG what a meal. Everyone impressed us. A local came in and they all stopped by and said hi and wished him a late birthday. We got a late start and we were by downtown so we went to Farmhouse Restaurant, which we have been to a few times before. They were a little busy for 10:20 in the morning. The service was pretty quick for the restaurant being full, the food came out perfectly cooked and hot! I can't stand eating a cold biscuit or eggs! The bacon was just the right crispness! (If that's a word) the biscuit was at least 2 inches high, hot and very fluffy. I used gravy on one side and jelly on the other, it was delicious! I was really happy to see a chain restaurant with fresh food and the prices were great! I didn't know if the ribs were going to be good at 1:00 lunch. They were as good as dinner ribs. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table in the crowded and chaotic dining room. The server was very nice but it honestly took another 30 minutes after ordering to get our food. The meal was not worth the wait. Oatmeal: basic and a bit cold. Pancakes: tough and tasteless. Omelette: not much flavor and overcooked. Biscuits: dry and not worth eating. Very disappointing. We walked in, stepped up to the counter, and were greeted by a nice young lady with a great smile. The lady advised us it would be 15 min wait for a party of 4. She told us the upstairs store was open for shopping and sitting while we waited on our table. The decor was vintage, down-home rustic, and very welcoming. It made you want to kick your shoes off and just get comfortable. The best part of this 2nd experience here still remains the same "Moist Pancakes" with just the right amount of brown butter edges. I can understand this place is busy and it's the Christmas season but that doesn't mean you should be disrespectful to the elderly that are waiting to dine at your establishment. We were trying to stay lined up by the wall but she wanted by handicapped husband to go upstairs to get out of the way!!!
