It must have been an off day for them since it was recommended by our hotel desk clerk as a locally owned restaurant and not a chain. We ate a late lunch at the Farmhouse today. My wife had an omelette $13.99, and said it was one of driest ever and not hot. I had an average burger $13.99 and redskin mashed potatoes that were good. Total with tip was $35.82, so a bit pricey for average quality. They pushed cobbler for dessert, but it didn't look great either for $7.99 + $1.99 extra for a la mode. It was not large enough for me to share for sure. I did see a plate of open face beef come out with mashed potatoes/gravy and bread that I would call Beef Manhattan. Great food great service. This is definitely a restaurant to revisit. Selina was our waitress. She was great. One of the best waitresses we have had in a long time. I got the fried chicken, half a chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra. My wife got the hamburger and my daughter got the grilled chicken breast burger. Edger got the chicken fried steak with brown gravy. There were no complaints and no leftovers. There is a gift shop upstairs, small and quaint. In my opinion one of the best cafe's in Branson is the Farmhouse in the old Branson downtown. It's a small cafe. It's not fancy by any means. The parking is plentiful ( if you are the only car in town). Otherwise curbside parking is scarce. The service is friendly and professional. They keep check on your needs. My wife ordered Ham & scrambled eggs with country style potatoes. I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs with country potatoes. Both meals came with fresh homemade biscuits & gravy. This is the go to place 15 min wait at 10 am was well worth the wait. Seated in Jordans area. He is a great server and very attentive to all his tables. 2 eggs cooked perfectly. House potatoes and a biscuit that covers 1/2 the plate. OMG what a meal. Everyone impressed us. A local came in and they all stopped by and said hi and wished him a late birthday. We got a late start and we were by downtown so we went to Farmhouse Restaurant, which we have been to a few times before. They were a little busy for 10:20 in the morning. The service was pretty quick for the restaurant being full, the food came out perfectly cooked and hot! I can't stand eating a cold biscuit or eggs! The bacon was just the right crispness! (If that's a word) the biscuit was at least 2 inches high, hot and very fluffy. I used gravy on one side and jelly on the other, it was delicious! We had to wait 30 minutes for a table in the crowded and chaotic dining room. The server was very nice but it honestly took another 30 minutes after ordering to get our food.
