They had the best price on the 2006 Giant Rincon that I found after calling around. Their store isn't very big but is crammed full of bikes of all shapes and sizes. They've got BMX bikes to cruisers to full suspension downhill mountain bikes. I like their bike mechanic - he was able to bring about a sort of life into my bike that some other mechanics haven't been able to reproduce. I was involved in an accident where I bike got banged up and didn't shift properly, and the people at REI didn't fix the problem, but the mechanic here did. The only complaint I have is that bike service is exceedingly slow - It's almost as bad as taking your car to the dealer for service - you need to bring it in during the morning and pick it up either in the afternoon or even the next day. However, they must be doing something right with that level of attention because after the service, it bike seems to be rejuvenated. One other complaint, though minor, is that they don't have a very full line of accessories. They do stock forks and brakes and such, but are pretty sparse on lights, locks, racks, and such. well i hate to give such a low score. but here's why. i have seen this place from time to time but never been inside. when i thought of buying a bike i thought of here. so i went there and got helped out. the person(dont remember his name) who helped me out was really helpful. he let me know certain things about the bikes and recommended what i should do and why. so he let me go outside and take it for a test ride. and what he said was true about the bike. so, because of that i bought that bike. the price was high but i thought it was worth the buy. after a while it started to make a rattling noise. then i took the bike back to see whats wrong. thats when it all went south with this place. the young guy there looked at me weird when i entered the store. so i ignored it and asked for help. I was un able to get help for a while. then when i asked him to help he didnt even ask what the problem was he said " first come first serve. we are to busy right now". i explained that i have a busy schedule and requested to leave it and pick it up later. then again he said " you have to come in and wait. i cant tell you how long just come early". So with having two jobs its not easy just to sit around and wait for a unknown amount of time. after waiting the the second time he looked up my account and we found out the IS ONLY A 6 MONTH WARRANTY????????????? so i spent $500 on a bike there to get treated this way. so i ask "ok well how much to fix it". then after more waiting the tech came out and told the guy" its a quick fix " and " i'll fix it". long story short :) if he would have asked the tech days ago it could have been fixed in mins. that tech is the reason for 2 stars. read more

I recently got back into riding...stopped by sun bikes for chain lube, helmet pads, and some other small items. They tried to tell me they didn't have helmet pads...after a little prodding the guy pulled out a huge bin and let me pick some. Yeah...strike 1... After I paid I inquired about a tune up and he starts rattling off that it might need replacement parts, even before he saw the bike. Strike 2 and a major red flag in my mind. Strike 3 was the fact that they had a sliding scale for trueing wheels...so after they struck out, I decided to try fast bikes. I used to go there all the time back in my BMX days and they were always fast and reasonable... They performed the tune up for a reasonable price and didn't try to upsell. They did a great job on it and stuck to the price. Will definitely be back again. Also had them install bar ends which they were also reasonable on as well. Took my specialized tarmac in to have my front derailleur cable changed. I live in evergreen and had taken my bicycle to mikes bikes in Los Gatos which is quite a drive and typically repairs require that I leave my bicycle. I saw that the price for doing service here was rated $$ but I don't think it's that bad, but then again I haven't taken it anywhere else since I live close to this place. They haven't ripped me off and the prices seem fair to me as well as they have fixed everything that I needed to fix on my bike for a reasonable price. Great bike shop. I bought a bike from bikes direct online and needed it put together right away. I called one place and they were charging me $100 to put it together for me. So i called Fast Bicycle and they quoted me $50 which was perfect. I went there right away in the morning and gave them the bike. I asked them when it would be done and they told me in two days. Which shocked me because i was hoping for it to be done the same day. So i stood there debating if i should leave and find another place. They realized i needed it done soon so they immediately told me, that they can go ahead and finish it for me by the end of the day which was perfect. The shop opened almost 20 minutes late but service was fast and not to $$ ($9 to replace my flat tire's tube took 7 minutes).

This is by far the best place to buy a bike.. I brought two bike from these guys back in May and needed an adjustment.. They were very helpful in getting that done for me.. A couple months ago, I took my mountain bike in to get them to fix my gear shift. I couldn't shift down to 1st gear. They fixed it, but the problem came back just a couple weeks later! I wasn't able to take it back to them for about 6 weeks or so, I was pleased that they were still willing to fix it again for me. Jose is very knowledgeable and reasonable. They technically could have charged me for the repair, but I'm glad they had a "customer first" approach to the situation because I would have felt that it wasn't fair to me to have to pay for the same problem all over again in such a short period of time. Every bicycle needs to be customized for a particular rider. For a given rider, some bicycles need more/less adjusting than others, but finding a perfect fit, out of the box, seems really rare, at least for me. Tom and Jose understand this in a deep way. Tom took time with me to determine what I wanted, and then helped me find the best fit, and then continued his assistance in customizing the bike. He spent a lot of time and effort with me. Jose executed very quickly and well on Tom's instructions. I felt very taken-care-of. We went through three stems, new cables (twice!), the works. My comfort and happiness were their chief concerns. "Whatever keeps you on the bike! What good is a bike that just sits in the garage?" Tom said. Tom told me the story of a friend of his that had hand-numbness after a ride that they took. His friend was embarrassed to say anything and just accepted it as "part of riding". Tom told me how foolish this was, and encouraged me to come to him with any comfort issues or concerns I had at all with the bike. We ordered new parts (sometimes we had to wait for them to come in, Tom or Jose always called and followed-up), and they always patiently stuck with me, kind and friendly. I really appreciate Tom's way-of-being and he treats me very well. I am glad that Jose is so very talented with a wrench. Thank you, Tom and Jose. read more

I came in because I needed a freewheeling gear. I didn't want a fixed gear anymore. I had to wait a little bit because the worker was taking care of a really indecisive asian dude, but when it was my turn he gave me good information to my question and gave me the parts I needed. I just bought an Electra Townie. Tom , the owner, had to special ordered it and he gave me a great price. When I picked up the bike I added a light and bell that they put on for me. I needed to load the bike into my car and another staff member helped me put it in my Prius. We had to remove the front tire to fit the bike in so I got a quick lesson in how to disassemble and reassemble my bike. Which worked like a charm when I got home. I got a free six month maintenance so that as the new bike gets broken in I'll be able to keep it in top notch running order. They have the best prices around. I bought a Raleigh bike there and am very pleased with the quality of the bike and how easy it is to shift gears. I called ahead for a emergency bike repair to race the next day, he said yes I can do it". drove 30 minutes cross town got there and all he said was "NO". I have seen some tore up wheels come out looking pretty solid and riding been longer after he got ahold of it. Best tech I have seen in a while. Went in for a quick purchase of about a dozen small parts. While they didn't have the bars or caliper I needed in stock...they had all the other stuff...housing, freewheel, seatpost clamp among other things. Was done in about 10 minutes. They got various bikes, different prices, different colors, etc. I used to buy my tubes from Target but they usually don't have the size that I want, until my cousin suggested me to go here. I always pay for a replacement for about 10-11 dollars, they also do it for you in a couple of minutes. They've known my cousins for a couple of years now and also me. I recommend you to go here. This place is a rip off. Be careful on what you buy and the components you get on your bike he's a switcher. Also, he disrespected me by being rude and unfair. When I had pointed out when I noticed a nut that wasn't put on 2 days after I purchased and paid for the installation of my 3pc cranks and my new 24in cruiser bmx he said that it was on there and also said that its common to fall out. I know it was never on there, I noticed it missing when I got home that day but didn't have time to go back and don't even ride them yet. His explaination was " its like when you die you die it happens." I was like what, what are you talking about? Anyhow he told me to go buy one at OSH down the street! I told him that it should had came with it and that he go buy it for me. We argued for a bit. If its common for this part to become loose then he needs to apply locktite or stop selling it to the public. He lost my business that's for sure. I called Fast Bike and the first thing that came out of the guy's mouth is "you must have broke it" we are the expert, we are the best, whatever!! We have four bikes in our family that have been collecting dust, because they all had flat tires and were no longer riding very well. It was time to make them all work again so I turned to YELP for help & guidance to find a good bike repair shop. Based on all of the reviews I read, I chose Fast Bicycle. I took two bikes in one afternoon, picked them up the next afternoon and dropped off the other two. Within 2 days, I had 4 bikes with new tires, clean, and tuned up so well, that they all rode nicer than the day we bought them new. The price was far lower than I had anticipated! The place is crowded and very busy. The owners are rushed, but helpful. Overall, I was very impressed by their business, their prices, and the quality of their work. They are confident in the work they do. They are obviously proud of what they do. And they know their prices are very competitive. A lot of locals usually have bad things to say about this place, whether the prices are too expensive or the staff is reluctant to offer a good salesman ethic. Fortunately I experienced neither the former or the latter during my 2nd visit to this place last week. Every time I get a flat tire, I always turned to Target to get my bike tubes because the word on the street was that Fast Bicycle was over priced. I took their word for it because at Target I got my tubes for usually $7 - $8 and to me that seemed like a very reasonable price. Last week I went to Target again to get a new tube but they didn't have it so I was forced to go to Fast Bicycle. To my surprise, the person working there was very helpful and knew the answers to all my questions off the top of his head. Even more to my surprise was the price of the tube that I have been paying $8 for, was only $5.40 at here! I couldn't believe it! " Why haven't I been coming here every time I needed a tube?! After purchasing 2 bikes from this business I brought a rim in for repair and got the rim and hub back incomplete. The quick release was missing. I went back for my quick release and got treated like I was lying. He put on a new quick release, that does not match or work very well. I thought we had a good relationship, but I suppose not.
