Prices are reasonable, but breakfast menu is very limited. The decor probably hasn't been updated since the 1980's. Food comes quickly, I ordered an egg and cheese omelette, it came with shredded cheese that wasn't melted all the way and a square slice of american-cheese on top. The biscuits are phenomenal, but that was about it. Everything else was..meh. I get it, there's not a lot of breakfast places in St. Cloud and the locals have been going here for 5 generations but at some point the bar should be raised. read more

If you want a decent diner breakfast, this is your place. No frills, no fuss, no muss. Coffee is hot. Eggs were cooked sufficiently and every meal offers a lot of food. The biscuits honestly were the equivalent of KFC, no complaints there, but they & the gravy came out cold. I'm not particularly a fan of cold gravy, but the taste was decent. Jimmy Bear's was some of the worst BBQ food I had ever had so I was scared to try another St. Cloud spot, however, Fat Boy's changed my mind. I had the beef sandwich, ribs, corn, okra and Greens. All of which were great! My only complaint is that this place is in dire need of some TLC, the inside looks like something out of a 70-80's Georgia cop movie dining scene. The meat is always great but it's the salad bar that sets it apart for me, great options, amazing chicken salad! I found this location while I was in St. Cloud on business and I asked where I could get some barbecue. I arrived around 12:30 PM on a Thursday and the place was packed. I was seated at a deuce booth that had a pocket divider so that the four top booth adjacent to it would make it a six top instead. Pretty clever and it looked like it might even be handmade. Glancing around the room I can tell this place had been here for quite some time. Although I will say that everything looked clean including the carpets, this place could really use a makeover. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries and a side of beans. I also ordered lemonade to wash it all down. My server was incredibly friendly and very efficient. The food arrived extremely fast. This particular sandwiches a 5 ounce large steamed bun sandwich, that resembled more of a "man which" and less of a traditional pulled pork one. It was tasty however, with the right amount of sauce mixed in to the meat. I got a heap of fries however they were soggy and not hot. When she came to check on me and I told her about them she immediately apologized and went to go get another batch she brought it out another huge bowl filled with fries. Second batch was extremely tasty they use crinkle cut and the second batch was cooked to perfection. You get a very small plastic ramekin with about three bites full of beans in contrast. The beans I found to be quite tasty and slightly above average. They should have a better balance in their portion size, between beans and fries in my opinion. The lemonade also seemed like it could be homemade. She served me and a to go cup which was probably due to the fact that I was wearing my work uniform. I found that to be extremely convenient and she even brought out more for me to fill up before I left. Really the only negative thing I have to say about the service is that it would've been nice for her to mention that I pay upfront. I sat in my chair for a good five or six minutes until I figured out that I needed to bring my check up to the counter to pay. Continuing the good service, the woman at the counter was very nice as well. They have Andes mints at the counter for five cents. I gave her a quarter and only took two paying it forward. Lunch with tip came to a total of $12.81. This is relatively average for barbecue lunch in Florida. Overall I'd say that I probably visit this location again and try something else on the menu based on the great level of service I received, but the omega little work in order for me to call this anything other than average. read more

This has to be one of the worst BBQ places I've ever been too, except Sonny's. I'll start from the very beginning. Once we sat down, the service was prompt. I'm not writing this to complain about the staff. I ordered my sweet tea and proceeded to glance at the menu. I happened to see the drink menu and noticed that they charge $2.39 a glass. For tea. It's half water and I know that lemon wedge wasn't grown by the gods! On top of the drink prices, their sides were very limited. Yes they had the staples, but definitely not anywhere near as good of a variety as many other places. Not to mention, they want $2 or $3 extra if your single 4 tablespoon sized portion the meal comes with isn't enough. I had the coleslaw, and I've had better from Bojangles. For half the price. Next, let's talk about the fact they don't have pulled chicken. I understand this, as I've seen a few places with this issue...but some of us BBQ fanatics don't like pork. I was really disappointed. I was really excited to try this place out because a few friends recommended it...but I will never eat here again because of their outrageous prices. On the upside though, the other food was okay. My prime rib was med to med well & I ordered med rare. The manager/cook argued with me that I didn't know what I was talking about. (When I sent it back the server said they don't have anything more rare). It had ZERO flavor and refused to do anything. The other meal was a cheeseburger about an 1/8" thick and mushy. Horrible service! Shannon was my waitress and I'm not sure if it was just because it was me and my daughter and she was assuming that she wasn't gonna get a tip or if it was the fact that she was overwhelmed with the amount of tables that she had. But she made the experience completely horrible. when she arrived to my table the first thing I ask for was stuff for the already cold coffee I had sitting there for the hostess. Five minutes later I went ahead and asked her again for a for these items since she didn't bring them and she stated that she was busy running food I had to wait. Annoyed at this point! Food came out my daughters food was great. Shannon didn't bring all of my food. Even dropped the bill off 10 mins later as I was still sitting there waiting for my food to be completely brought to me as everything else got cold. Needless to say there was another excuse why she didn't fully bring out my breakfast order and it was because she got stuck at a table. No apologies just constant excuses and me having to wait. Don't worry everybody I still tipped her 20% on $13 even though she didn't deserve it. Went in for a very late lunch after a round of golf. We shared the BBQ platter for 4 and it was entirely too much food for only about $40! All of the meats were nicely smoked. It came with ribs, brisket, pork, chicken, and enough sides to feed an army. Ate so much we felt like we were going to pop. Contrary to what Wendy M. says, Fat Boys ROCKS!! I think they beat Sonny's by far. Their service was great (even on a busy day like after the St. Cloud parade). We were even seated right away (we were a party of 8!!) Prices were reasonable and had a really good lunch and dinner menu. Oh why have I waited so long to come back to have an amazing Sunday breakfast. This used to be a weekly Sunday event after church. Really happy to see things seem to be back to good old St. Cloud with minimal mask wearing and everyone wearing a smile. If I could give this restaurant a rating on management I would give it a 0... I've known people that worked here and they all have the same story and feelings about it. Christine the owner of the establishment is one of the rudest owners I've ever witnessed and all her workers have the same story to tell about her. Unfortunately all of the workers I've known have usually been very kind and professional,but there owner just treats them like garbage and I have witnessed her behavior first hand. She will yell at them over little things like spilling one bean on a dish or in front of customers yell and embarrass her workers which I find very unprofessional.The owners behavior is at this point out of hand and if she doesn't fix the way she is treating her employee's there will be none left. I will never support a business that abuses there workers like this one it's ridiculous and needs to be dealt with immediately. We stopped here late the other night on our way home from St Cloud. They were great about seating us, even though they were closing in 30 minutes. The food was delicious, even with the late hour. The meats were seasoned perfectly and moist. We got the plate for 2 and was amazed with each meat that was on the plate. We actually had to box up the rest of our plate and take home. I've been here twice and both times I had bad service and bad food. Both times the waitress treated us like we were not worthy of being waited on, like she was doing us a huge favor even coming to the table! Breakfast is good but the BBQ is lacking. We've eaten breakfast a handful of times and its been good, but it's eggs and hash browns- this is supposed to be a barbecue joint, right? We ate at Fat Boys a couple of months ago- I really wanted ribs and heard they were good there. Not. Very fatty and lukewarm...almost like they had been heated up in the microwave prior to being served. My husband had the special which was pork chops, and he said they were not that great either, but we did enjoy the salad bar on that visit which made us think maybe they were having an off night in the kitchen, and to give it another chance. We ate there again this past Thursday night and what a joke. The salad bar this time was not nearly as fresh, and the food was disgusting. This time I had the pulled pork-I wouldn't have fed it to my dog. It was mush, cold, and definitely was not fresh. My daughter had the kids ribs-also cold and very tough, and my husband had a burger-cold, most likely a prepackaged frozen patty and smaller than described. I wanted to take pictures but was too distracted by the prehistoric sized wasp flying around and nose diving just above people's heads while the waitresses just laughed and cracked jokes about it being there all day. It was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant, and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. $30+dollars for cold slop on a plate...never again. If I was rating Fat Boys based on where I live in downtown Orlando it would get 2 maybe 3 stars but since its in St. Cloud and other then Chillis there is nothing better to eat it so it gets 4 stars. The hostess, seater, cashiers were all very attentive and very friendly and very apologetic for their coworker's actions. This was our first time at fat boys. We will go back again. As I said. After she brought the food she never laid eyes on us again. We sat there with no tea for over half our meal. We would have ordered sweet tea to go. But never got the chance. The BBQ chicken was bone dry and cold, the fries were soggy and the sliced meat dinner was dry and cold, we barely touched any of it. We used to get great food from here both carry out and dine in. Can they really afford to give this type of product to loyal customers with all the good restaurants now moving to Saint Cloud? It was 7.30pm and they were busy so no excuse for the poor quality food being sent out. We live less than ten minutes away so travel time home was not the issue either. Been eating here for 25 years. Monday they changed their menu and prices are insane. Gone are the all you can eat specials and not a larger size order of ribs is $21.75. All I can say is WOW. The food is awesome especially breakfast. Moving here recently from NYC in Manhattan were's there's so many awesome resturant and also living in Lancaster PA were you find great homemade food. Fat Boys rates right up there. I live in the Sanford area of Florida so Fat Boys is 35miles away but will not hesitate to jump in my car. I have not found any mom and pop restaurant worthy of breakfast like them. Ok the decor isn't 5 stars but it's clean and service with a smile. Come dressed very casual and there is parking but fills up fast. Heading there today. This was my first experience with Fat Boys BBQ. My wife and I ordered take out and got the BBQ feast for two. I picked it up and thought the place could definitely use some work. Very plain building outside, and inside needs to be updated as well. This worried me, but when I tasted the food I was very surprised and relieved. The ribs were vey good. The sliced pork, beef, and turkey were delicious as well. The beans are not your typical red beans and were very tasty. The Cole slaw rocked. We got the hot sauce and the regular BBQ sauce, both were very tasty. Overall, a decent BBQ joint. I've had better and I've had worse. I will be returning to fat boys in the future. read more
