I stopped by today to purchase 4 new tires. The price per tire 8 months ago was $35 each, $5 less than the best online price. Today I was quoted $99 per tire. When I brought this up with the owner he told me the price of rubber went up. I checked online and the price is still $40 per tire for the exact same size and brand of tire. I guess I was dressed a little to nice so they took me for a sucker. The morale of the story: make sure you price check so you don't get ripped off. Was helped the moment I arrived. Picked out my replacement tire and it was done before I knew it. These guys are the fast food of tires (and I mean that in a good way). From the time I pulled in to when I drove away, the whole thing took maybe 20-25 minutes. I've seen some of the one star reviews, but this was not my experience. I didn't need new tires, I didn't want any free burnt coffee or had any desire to sit in a waiting room for 2 hours while my car was being worked on... and I found the perfect place. My Camry was pulling heavy to the right side, the steering wheel was shaking at speeds less than 40mph (and when braking). So my Dad found 4 used tires at various shops around the bay area and I handled them over to Fat Cat tires today for inspection and install. They didn't try to sell me an alignment or any new tires, they just jacked the car up and started working on it immediately. I dropped the car off at 3pm, checked out the flea market for 30 minutes, and came back to a job well done. He took every effort to place the best 2 matched tires up front for safety and now my car drives perfectly straight with no shaking at all. I saved hundreds of $$ and I have no complaints. read more

Pretty bad service. They charge the same as any other tire shop but use very outdated equipment. Just paid $80 to have four tires mounted and "Balanced". The way they balance is by using an old bubble balancer (Look it up) as opposed to using a newer machine that rotates the tire to make sure it's balanced. After using the balancer the eyeball where the weights should go then don't even bother double checking. Once you complain they all talk to each other in Spanish even though they were just talking to you in English. Next time I'll definitely be going somewhere else. read more

I purchased a few sets from Fat Cat Tire Salono Flea Market, First set was for my Dodge Durango, The tires I wanted were BFG All Terrain Mud 32-12.50-15 I had done the search from Goodyear to America's Tire, Big O....on a whim I did a drive by these guys beat the price and had me rolling down the road in very little time (like fast) on the way home 8 miles away I get a blowout front tire, I call the guys up and say WTF, come back and we will get you a new one. AAA changes tire drive back to flea market and 5 minutes later I am driving home...Great Service! It wasn't their fault I got a blowout but it was under warrenty. Then I got a set of four tires for my tricked out mazda RX-7 EagleGT VR4 great deal in and out(sideways) in minutes Next time I went to Oakland Coliseum and I am not sure but some spanish guy comes over looks at me and my Mitsubishi Montero and spits out a quote that is no different than I could have gotten if I went directly to Goodyear on a non sale day offering me a lesser quality tire! I said come on you gotta be able to do me better than that- he turned and walked away as if I wasn't worth his time! I Got a better deal from Big O that day I am going to check with them tomorrow on a set of tires and this time I should probably dress down! read more

100 bucks two tires - drove right in and they handled me within about ten minutes. You just pull to the end of the parking lot and they have guys come out and change tires right there. Some maneuvering is required when you exit (I could have just missed the right way to go..) but I am not complaining. Fast, great price, no complaints whatsoever. read more

I had a tire blow out on Easter Sunday. Not only were they open they were fast, courteous and had a decent stock of new and used. The blow out took my tailpipe with it, and they cut the bent part off for me. Excellent service: Al really took care of me. read more

Ive personally been dealing with Al (owner of fat cat tires) for approx 15 yrs and have always been satisfied with their work. But I will tell you that in all this time he's had the same employees working for him and all seem to still enjoy working for him and I believe that says alot for a business and the owner and Al isn't just an owner he's there everyday working along side these men. He has quality products and fair prices and Always a friendly smile. Unlike big name places he can work with you if you need it. Try and get big O or whoever to go little lower on a price good luck pal. read more

I used to go to American Tire all of the time, but as a whim tried Fat Cat, now we buy all our tires from Al at Fat Cat. Great deals and they turn it around really quick! We have had them put tires on our Tahoe, Chevy Silverado and he even special ordered some Goodyear tires for our Pontiac Vibe. I am not sure about others experience, but we highly recommend Fat Cat all the time to our friends and neighbors. read more

I went there based upon previous positive reviews. I learned the hard way. They sold me two used tires for nearly the same price as I would have paid for new. Being in a bind, I had no choice. I realize that its buyer beware, but it seems to me an honest dealer wouldn't try to take advantage of their customers. On top of that, they refused to compensate me for marks on my wheels that I know happened while they were installing my tires, denying they had anything to do with it. I don't agree that this is a good operation. I think they will try to get away with anything they can if they feel a customer is vulnerable. read more

should't even give em a fn star!!! Ok so I got my suburban (265/75/17) tires here and crap they are fn big tires and paid $300 for all four brand new. I went back today for a lexux rx 300 tires (225/70/16) all four brand new and dude went up from 400 to 700 in like 5 minutes! wtf seriously did i have booboo the fool written on my forehead? seriously so bigger tires are cheaper than smaller ones? shit i think they we're just trying to scam us cause we had no man with us! never again will i ever get tires from them again! beware...but the bbb will hear of my compliant! oh i also forgot to mention that a man there was buying tires for a big ass truck and they sold him it for 300...so come on now! read more

If they think you are a sheep, they will try to fleece you. Was feeling a bit pinched this month and thought I'd try my luck. Was quoted $170 for two USED off-brand tires. YIKES! New tires in this size run from $60-90. Businesses are free to set their own prices and I don't usually post reviews based on that, but this is a pretty brazen attempt to hustle and deserves to be called out. read more

I want to Thank Al and his great crew for the excellent service I received from them today. I was searching the web for new tires for my 2001 Ford Ranger. When I got on Yelp to search for good tires at a great price, Fat Cat Tires came up in the top position. Yelp also listed at least 10 more businesses​. So I checked all boxes to see where I could get the lowest price. I received quotes from almost everyone. As I returned information that was needed such as tire size they all came back with decent prices, but they all seemed to not care if I used them or not. When I got the quote back from Fat Cat Tires they let me know the total price out the door. Also asked when I would like to have the job done. I replied today if possible. It was already after 3:00 pm. They told me to bring my truck in and they would take care of me now. Low and behold I was there by 3:30 and was back on the road by 3:50. Mounted, balanced and installed in 20 minutes. The will have all my business from now on.... read more

We absolutely trust Fat Cat Tires to 1) find the right tires, 2) give options and prices and 3) treat our cars/truck and SUV with personal care while installing two or all four tires. They advise without making you buy more than you need. They are quick and efficient and I don't mind that there isn't a fancy shop with lots of fancy equipment...and I'm pretty sure that's why their prices are so good for the same quality name brands! We've now used them for all of our cars in the last few years and when our son could only afford two tires, they treated him so well, gave him a loan of a used tire to keep him safe until a couple weeks later when he could get the other two new tires. That's like family! We happily and confidently refer them to everyone! read more
