The biggest influence while growing up when it came to donuts was Dunkin Donuts. I never liked it as a kid and to be honest, didn't think any of the popular donut places were anything special. I came here one day just to check out the local shops and had a gigantic donut with chocolate frosting. By far it was the best donut I've ever had in my entire life. It was fresh, soft on the inside but nicely fried on the outside and it wasn't super sweet. My opinion about donuts went front "eh, they're overrated" to "hey, this is ok." read more

I've had really good donuts here before and really looked forward to getting a couple to share today. Unfortunately, the person behind the counter was not practicing good hygiene. No gloves, no mask and handling food after coming from outside without washing hands. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked why he wasn't wearing any protective gear and he laughed and said that it was fine because I had on a mask. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything there. In general, I'd expect better food handling practice, but during these times, you need to go the extra mile. read more

Showed up right when they opened because I'd seen comments that they sell out of flavors and wanted to make sure I got some goodies. Problem is, when you show up right when they open, they don't have fresh doughnuts made and tell you Jelly will be ready in 1/2 hour. No thanks. Wanted to try something new but I'll just stick with Dough. EDIT - I see that the owner responded. All of the doughnuts were most certainly NOT lined up except Jelly. No Nutella. No Oreo. Multiple flavor trays empty. So I was inclined to believe what was there was from the day before. Especially with the flavor you're most famous for being unavailable for another 1/2 hour. read more

Incredibly delicious and inventive donut shop. The portions are massive so bring an empty stomach or a friend. Surprisingly smooth espresso as well. Would definitely return to try the dulce de leche next time I'm in town. read more

My husband and I ordered the club and the BLT Panini...so so so good! Extremely flavorful and all round delicious. We've also had their glazed donuts that are really really good. I'm not from Brooklyn. Stayed at the Hotel RL down the street and needed something good in the morning before departing back home on the train. This place didn't disappoint. The guy who runs it was very nice and accommodating and it has a very small-town feel. Nothing too flashy or extra, just good, delicious donuts -- exactly what I had hoped for. Lovely donuts at a reasonable price. 2.50 gets you a huge donut that was refreshingly fluffy. We had a cinnamon donut and I loved that the base of the doughnut wasn't extremely sweet like a normal donut, most of the sweetness came from the cinnamon sugar. Great way to start your day. read more

So ready? Listen to this. We went to my grandma's place in Brooklyn (all the way from Long Island!!!!) for dinner. And we thought, "hey let's go get some dessert." Now I know doughnuts are usually eaten for breakfast but we decided F*** it, let's try them. HOLY COW! these are the best homemade doughnuts we've ever had! So good. Really great local spot. I like their doughnuts because they are huge but not super dense making for a pleasant treat. The staff is very nice and their croissants are really well made too. It looks like everything is meticulously made by hand including the decorating of the doughnuts which is an art in itself. Personally I like their doughnuts WAY better than dough since they are lighter and not coma inducing. The place is unassuming but it's definitely one of the best places to get pastries in the area. It's super unpretentious and a great deal for what they have to offer. They also have fresh juices and everything is relatively cheap. I'm glad they opened up on the block. Amazing doughnuts at a little old-fashioned-looking doughnut shop. I love their total lack of pretentiousness and total emphasis on the product and service. I've tried many of their flavors and my favorites so far are cherry frosted and glazed (can't choose between butter glazed and maple glazed). But they've all been delicious. Once I was lucky enough to get there as the latest batch was coming out of the oven. Nothing better. Service is always nice and friendly. Prices are good and portions are huge! They also have other treats including pierogies and sweet or savory crepes. So happy to have found this neighborhood gem. read more

No need for a dunkin' donuts when this guy makes them way out of their league. They could offer better coffee and a variety of coffee. These donuts are great and obviously made with care. They're also huge but light (not dense). Think DOUGH sized (maybe a little bigger) but fluffier, and more flavorful. The price can't be beat either: $2.50 each $3.50 for filled. I just greatly enjoyed the cinnamon frosted and wished we got more flavors!
