I ordered the pork burrito and it was not very flavorful, but over spiced instead. The churro sundae was not very cinnamoned or sweet. We came to the restaurant five minutes after the rest of our group but everyone ordered food separately. We ordered our entrées after the rest of the table got their food. For me an alright spot for Mexican food. As expected for a spot near a convention center and airport, this spot can get quite busy on any day of the week - especially during the main dinner hours. The process of being seated by the host and getting service from the waiter can be a bit slow, though this isn't too bad for a restaurant of this type. But it is quite loud inside, which makes it difficult to hear one another for a conversation and make louder by celebratory sounds for birthdays, graduations, and other events. The food itself is alright for me. Not super expensive for a restaurant in this area, but also not too cheap. Portion sizes are fairly generous and the food does come out hot. I found the meat to be a tad overcooked on different items I tried, and the seasoning to be a bit underwhelming. In particular, the texture on the quesabirria tacos was nice and crunchy on the outside, but the meat itself was a bit firm and lacked having depth of flavor. The al pastor burrito had a good amount of rice, beans, lettuce, avocado, etc. but combined together felt a bit indistinct in its different elements -- making it not as enjoyable as it could've been. The best item I had was Rosie's Churro sundae though it wasn't amazing either. The churros were nice and hot and did mix well with the chocolate ice cream, which drowned out the flavor of the candied pecans and dulce de leche, but was still fairly enjoyable -- but an item like Uncle Julio's Chocolate Pinata is better flavorwise. Overall, this is an acceptable spot to enjoy Mexican food with a group. The food is alright due to ingredient quality, but i feel that the flavors and textures could be a bit better -- which can be hard to be consistent with, due to how busy this place gets. If you want a festive mood, definitely come here to be surrounded by celebration, but if you're trying to have a conversation with others-- it'll be challenging given the noisy environment. read more

We visited on a quick stop in Chicago while traveling. First time visit. It was a very early afternoon maybe noonish on a Sunday and the staff greeted cheerfully and with warm reception and seated us quickly. Very few other patrons in the place. We ordered from the brunch menu. I ordered the avocado on bread deal (can't recall specific name) it came with salsa and another sauce. A little different from conventional avocado toast but decent. My daughter wasn't so lucky. The first entrees she ordered were not available. Both were from the brunch (fairly brief) menu so a bit odd but we kept going and she ordered the same as I did. My biggest disappointment was being told no coffee drinks at all were available. Only alcoholic drinks or mocktails. Because we were traveling caffeine was a must and I imagine many in the brunch crowd would appreciate at least an Americano! Overall cheerful place to visit. Beware: There is a life-sized talking male mannequin when you enter the ladies room (LOL) Party festive music playing. My friends did enjoy their meals. I had a beer in a large class that ended up having 'something' in the bottom of it. I'm not sure what it was (possibly corn, mango, fruit, some other mystery ingredient). A table near us got a tequila flight, which is presented on a wooden airplane. Second time I've been to this location. Food is decent, drinks are good but the service is terrible. Specially if you sit at the bar, bartenders are busy flirting with hosts and not watching the bar tops for guest needs. I just pictured an over-hyped, cheesy tourist trap with bland, overpriced food. I was mistaken! Big time! My impression wasn't helped by the crowd size, the noise and sitting inches away from the table to my left. I was hoping for a nice quiet evening to catch up with my friend and not have to censor my conversations that were in earshot of the table over. But once the first rodeo erupted: sparklers and singing, staff parading the aisles around the restaurant, I realized this wasn't the place you come to chat about first-times-with-the-new-guy and gripe about things you can talk about on the phone. This was a place to be a part of the action! Bussers filling waters, food runners shuffling plates, servers checking in, managers touching tables...this wasn't a restaurant so much as a well-oiled machine. I couldn't even turn my head around to admire the interior, catch the sparkler spectacles or check out a cute staff member without someone rushing over and asking if I needed anything. That level of attentiveness and sense of urgency is what shoots their stars to 10! Not to mention, the staff all genuinely look like they are having a ball! My family and I were finally able to check out the new fat Rosie's location and I think it's a great addition to the Parkway Bank Park in Rosemont!
