The guy at the counter was cleaning the ice cream area and let me stand at the order area 3 min (6ft away) and never spoke to me. Guys in the kitchen came out to help me instead. The oldest employee was about 22 - no adult manager. Burger: Ordered bacon cheeseburger with double lettuce and ketchup. Total fail - mine was the only burger to cook in the entire place!!! Had mayo dripping off the sides, no bacon, no ketchup. Sent it back for a total remake. Instead they simply replaced the lettuce and top bun. Ketchup was skimpy - only covered 1/2 of bun - in the center. Meat was ok, nothing special and no salt or pepper. Skinny Fries/extra crispy: Good but unsalted. Atmosphere: Little retro vibe, small but plenty of seating. Only have Pepsi products, tea - but a really good lemonade! (That's what to get!) Overall: So-so and definitely not worth the $20 I spent. It's not bad. I won't go again because there are better options nearby, but it's okay. The burger I got, "The Original", is basically a single patty with lots of high-calorie sauce at about $8. It's much pricier than a double-double from In-N-Out, and worse on the waistline at almost 800 calories. Again, it's not bad, and tasted good, but two hours after eating I still feel weighed down in a way different from other burger joints. The location itself is a good one if you've got a group of friends who want to eat a burger inside rather than at In-N-Out, which is just down the road. So if you're walking around the Firewheel shopping area, it might be a convenient option. I just wouldn't go there expecting the best burger in the nearby area. read more

If you've read any number of my past reviews you will see I have eaten quite a few hamburgers in my life so I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of sorts and I don't take my position lightly when I say that one of the best hamburgers I have eaten was at this Fatburger location. I've only ever eaten at the one and at the time of this review, I've only eaten there once so I can't say that all locations are the same or the same quality but the one I ate was amazing. I'm not going to lie it is a bit pricey and in the past, I have ragged on hamburger places for being expensive but in this case, I believe it's worth it. It's been pretty cold in North Texas, yet we had to feed the monkies. The regular stops were not calling us, so we looked for a new family place, so the call was Fatburger. The first thing to think about is the actual location and parking, which is hard to find due to the set up of the shopping center. You enter and place your order at the counter. The place was dead, so you would expect effective customer service. The cashier was nice and a bit helpful. I asked her what she liked to eat since it was our first time there. She recommended the Western BBQ burger. The wife was not feeling the burger thing due to the KETO vibe, and my boys just asked for the traditional burger set up. The bathrooms were well kept, and overall, cleanliness was ok. After a while, remember only one other family was there, our food arrived. The little monkey kids' meal reminded me of the 80s Wendy's commercial "Where's the Beef?!" My others son value meal must have also been on a KETO diet. My burger had missing onion rings, burnt meat, and just no bueno. The cashier would later bring the onion rings on the side. The wife's boneless wing meal added a strong exclamation mark to a poorly prepared meal, especially for $52 dollars. Terrible service - the guy had his ear bud in and was on the phone, asked for Ranch and didn't get it, dude did not want to be there and it showed. Food is just ok, but not worth the price. The sweet tea is disgusting and doesn't taste right. Might have lemons in it, but some fruit flavor overpowers it. I'd rather drive over to Freddy's, but even In and Out is just as good as this if I wanted to stay in the area and it has a drive thru. Wouldn't come back here. read more

I don't want to give them a bad review but it can't be helped. We came in at 12:30 on a Saturday. It wasn't super busy, but I could already tell service was slow. Found out there were two employees working - one cook, and one sweet girl doing everything else. They tried, I'll give them that much. There's simply too much to do for two people to handle a whole counter service restaurant. The girl thanked us for our patience and comped our whole order since we waited for 45 minutes. Even then, food was cold. She came later to give fries that were hot. Again - service was good. They tried their best under the circumstances. But the food was barely warm and this is not a way to run a business. Manager should have been here at the very least. read more

It was a beautiful day and Firewheel center was poppin when we stopped to eat at Fatburger. A couple of other places were too crowded, but Fatburger wasn't too busy. It didn't take us long to realize why. We got in line behind two other people and waited. When we were next, a girl behind the counter who had been there the whole time walked up to the second register and said "next." She said it in a tone that suggested she'd rather be anywhere but here. As we ordered, she kept having to ask us to repeat. It's because she had been listening to her AirPods and only took one out to take our order. With our food, I also ordered a draft beer. I guess she wasn't old enough to serve it because she called someone else over to pour it. He filled it with half beer, half foam Our food took longer than it should have, and was just ok. We had wings, a burger, and fries. The wings were ok but we ordered the "hot" flavor and they were instead the flavor of garden variety grocery shelf wing sauce. The best thing about the meal was the fries that weren't soggy. About half were, but the ones that weren't were pretty good. They offer skinny fries or fat fries, and we got skinny. There's a place to put your trays on the trash cans, so we cleaned up after ourselves and went over to the trash can. There was no way to push the door open without getting someone else's sauce on my knuckles, because they were so dirty it made me regret cleaning up after ourselves. This place could probably be decent, it's in a good location. But whoever owns it doesn't care enough to have sharp, friendly people working there, and isn't pushing cleanliness so it will probably go out of business. read more

The food was good. The cashier did mess up 3 orders in a row which caused delays. I will give it another try in the future.

TLDR; Bad service, crazy prices, kinda dirty, and really mediocre food at best. The burger was dripping with grease and way over seasoned while the onion rings had no seasoning at all, a huge disappointment. The Carolina sauce wings were crazy dry, not crispy, and the sauce was bland. Honestly, the spice level was mild which was even more disappointing. The hot dogs were absolute trash. Avoid of at all possible. *EDIT* my whole family had terrible stomach problems later in the day. Here's my experience - My wife and I discussed what we wanted with nobody in line behind us. Our kids both said they wanted a hot dog, and my wife told me what she wanted. I placed my order. The girl taking orders had an air pod in one ear and turned the monitor to have me sign. I ordered the small wings and onion rings and my wife got a burger and onion rings. The whole thing was about $50. I started to walk away, two cups in hand and turned back to ask where the cups for the kids meals were. She started cracking up and said, "you didn't order kids meals. I heard you and your wife talk about it but you never actually ordered it." I was already annoyed with the service and the prices but she didn't even bother to mention it. We could've been sitting there for ten minutes waiting on the slow service and had no food coming. Another $17 later for two hot dogs with some fries and tiny little drinks our orders were in. The people who walked in behind me saw this happen and left without ordering. The food was bad. If you're going to charge a family $70 for a meal there needs to be some justification, be it great service, a good clean eating experience, premium quality meal, or other. Fatburger! I was ready to get fat this Saturday evening and had been craving a big juicy burger for a little while now. The restaurant is situated in firewheel mall , across from Gloria's and and Champs sports. As a garland native, I like the addition for the mall itself and for the food community. The restaurant is pretty spacious with seating throughout. Menu is easy to read with some great options to pick from. The staff was courteous and friendly and made sure the order was correct. Got the Large which came with Fresh, ground, 100% pure lean beef, grilled and built-to-order. Served on a freshly toasted sponge-dough bun. Sweet potato fries and craft lemonade to complete the combo. Total for two large combos was $35 sheesh. I know for a fact I can get better for less elsewhere. Burger itself was about a 7.5 , medium well with some good flavor. Sweet potato fries were a little over cooked but still tasty. Lemonade was sweet but good. Nice dine in restaurant overall, but I wasn't full from the meal. I will revisit and will try the XXL burger next visit and the wings. Pricing could be better and ok experience but nothing too entirely special . read more

Tried this place out for thr 1st and LAST TIME. The food was overly expensive for the quality and taste. I got the regular burger with cheese, and literally all I tasted was relish. EWWW I got the Red Hot ranch wings. Nothing hot about these. Banana peppers are hotter than these wiings. Not to mention they tasted just like WALMART store bought TYSON wings. This place is not clean and serves overpriced subpar food. I took my husband's cup to get his fountain drink while he finished paying; he asked me to get him iced tea. I took one look at the tea dispenser and thought better of it, as it was caked with something sticky and brown. Strike one. Got him a Pepsi instead. Then I went to get a little cup for some ketchup and noticed that the plastic organizer they were in was grimy and covered in spots from multiple previous spills or splashes. Upon looking around the restaurant, I noticed a layer of grime on virtually every surface; windows, tile walls, napkin holders, the floor... strike two. Also, the ketchup dispenser was empty. My husband's burger came out and the bun was stale and the patty was so salty, he ate less than half. Strike three! We won't be back. read more

Not worth the money at all. My husband and I decided to stop by and try this place since we were walking around in firewheel anyway and wow... Now we get why it always seems empty. Not only was the meal - two burgers, fries, a drink, and a shake - overpriced ($45), but it was just mediocre. We just expected better quality for the price. The shake was almost $11 and tasted like cardboard and it took 20 minutes after the food was at the table to get it and I had to remind them that I had ordered it. That young girl who's the waitress and cashier is probably the worst waitress I ever had. We walked in and she was on her phone. Then slowly walks to the cash register. No hello or welcome. No biggie. Ordered food ok cool. We sit down eat. We say thanks for bringing our food she just walks away. Then we see that they have a burger challenge and I was like can you tell me about it cus my boy might wanna try it. I was first exposed to Fatburger from the 1975 film Dolemite and when they were also on Undercover Boss so I was excited to see them open here in Garland. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I grew up with Fuddruckers so I have high standards as far as burgers go. The food was very fresh, hot and tasted very good. My wife and I went in today just to get some fries and a shake. As we walk in the door, the lady who is supposed to be behind the counter, taking orders, start cursing at the man in back, making the food and telling him "I've got to leave, I am effing out of here." He tried to get her to stay, and she cursed him out when in the back got in his face and was cursing at him as an elderly couple who were there eating look down and shock in my wife and I walked out of the restaurant for the final time.
