Incredible. Just incredible. The SD Burrito was out of this world. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of large tender shrimp with fries and angus beef. It came with two green salsas and both were spicy and flavorful. I liked the creamy verde more, but used both up quickly. I ate it fresh from the drive-thru and it was piping hot! I also had a side of chips and salsa and it was a perfect complement. I haven't had a burrito this unique and full of flavor in a long time. This is the kind of burrito that you dream about. I decided I wanted to try a new to me place. I normally would use Yelp for that, but decided to ask Google Gemini. And up came Valerie's Taco Shop. So off I went....after reviewing the reviews... Ordered a Shredded Chicken Burrito. I also asked for all their spicy salsas. I got 2 of a yellow sauce that I couldn't tell the flavor of, but the verde and rojo sauce...they were spicy and regular. Next time I'll ask for only verde. Haha. The burrito? It was MASSIVE! Almost a foot long and easily 3-4 inches wide if not more. When I got home (10 min drive), the burrito was still wicked hot! It was packed with awesome shredded chicken! I mean really LONG pieces of shredded chicken. And the taste was WOW! Loved it!! I'll be back soon! I see they are open 24x7 BONUS! Somedays I get a early morning or late night craving....nice to know I can come here for the fix!! Parking is plentiful here as it's in the Home Depot parking lot. read more

Fresh, delicious, and great service! Valerie's is quite popular, pretty much every time I pop in there for lunch there is a line. They serve breakfast, as well! The breakfast burritos are massive and absolutely worth sharing, but delish. Lunch is yummy, a tad expensive to come here often, but an abundance of options. Definitely try any of the rice bowls with chicken or carne asada. If you need something on the cheaper side you can get an entire order of their cheese enchiladas for under 10 bucks. This is truly a hidden gem in dallas! I got the Cali Taco, which was loaded with seasoned meat, fries, and their signature sauce. I also ate the Cali Taco with their green sauce, which had a nice heat to it. The restaurant was very clean and quiet. I was the only table. My food came out quickly. Overall, I would give the cali taco a 8/10. I also got the chips and guac. The chips were very hot and fresh. The guac was very smooth, almost like a sauce. I would give it a 7.5/10. Valerie, please come back and do some quality control. I just had a California burrito and the carne asada was about 3x beyond seasoned. Didn't say anything and offered my wife and bite and she was equally disgusted. And for some reason they added shrimp to it. Usually I would be ok with that mistake but since the meat was so over seasoned I was even more annoyed. I'll come back and give it one more shot. Very disappointed. read more

The food was good, and the portion sizes were, too. The service was also fine, a young guy took our order. The lack of stars comes from the lack of consistency across locations. My husband wasn't allowed to make a modification to his proteins on his fries that he is usually able to at other locations. Other than that, a pretty average experience. It wasn't great but it has potential. There was great flavor in everything I got but just seemed old and stale. The crispy taco was like taco jerky. Could barely chew it. The burrito was again, very flavorful but very cold and the fresh tortilla was stale and chewy. This is a great place and a great location to bring in tons of business but it seems like the folks there have no pride in what they are serving. I ordered a carne asada burrito for lunch and it was so salty. No flavor just salt. Salt is not flavor. I had a couple of bite and threw the whole thing away. The carne also was not cooked all the way. I dont really want raw or medium cooked steak for my burrito. read more

Can't believe that I've actually been here before but never left a review or any hype. Located just in the parking lot of Home Depot, Valerie's Taco Shop truly deserves all of the hype. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito on this time around. It was quite a flavor bomb. It is a bang for your buck, definitely rolled tight and filled generously with Angus beef, guac, and salsa. The sauce bar is absolutely a must. I sampled the green, red, as well as the creamy habanero. The last one packs some serious heat but also is loaded with flavor so you should consider yourself warned. I ate inside and found out it was a counter service. Restaurant was clean. Employees friendly. I have mixed reviews about the food. Pastor tacos were delicious. Rice and beans were mid, nothing special. Queso was good, but didn't come with chips. Pineapple agua Fresca was literally water. No taste at all. Cucumber agua Fresca was a bit better, but it had so many cucumber "flakes" in the bottom that it was gritty. This place is a little pricey! We wanted a ground beef taco, but was told it would be an EXTRA $3, essentially making it $7+ for one taco. No thanks. I pass this place quite a bit, but never had time to stop. I'm glad I did, but not sure I would be back. Or I would come at lunch time and maybe the agua Frescas wouldn't be so watered down. read more

First time here... ordered shredded beef quesadilla so my son can eat with as he loves cheese. The meat was dry and it was not a quesadilla! Hardly any cheese!!!! The best bean and cheese burrito I have ever had. I wish I had a picture but I inhale it every time I go. Their hot sauces are unbelievably hot (this is coming from a south Asian). They use cheddar cheese which I'm usually not the biggest fan of but it compliments the beans so well. The burrito is also the size of my head. I'm an Uber Eats regular and have even gone in a few times. If a bean and cheese burrito fan, you have to try this spot. read more

We went to the drive thru then sat in the parking lot at three am and destroyed the food. It was so amazing and we were really hungry. Sis got the breakfast burrito but didn't really like that. This place has gone downhill in the last few years. In the beginning this California girl was elated because I found a place that offered San Diego style Mexican food and it was reasonably priced. I feel like each time we went things just kept getting worse. Drink machine was always out of order, dirty tables and the hot sauce bar was always a mess!! We finally just quit going. Then the other day we decided to give it another go. Friendly helper ready to take our order, clean tables and seating and a new menu board with a BIG hike in prices!! I'm talking like a few dollars for each item. My taco plate with rice and beans is now $15.00!!! It would be one thing if the portion size was decent but my tacos barely had any meat in them and the serving of rice and beans was skimpy. This is what my $15.00 lunch looked like. Yummm! This restaurant has really good food and even a drive thru. Some reviewers said it took really long, but I was in and out in just a few minutes. I ordered a carne asada burrito, which comes with carne asada, guacamole, and salsa. The burrito was loadeddd with meat, and it was pretty juicy too. I like how they grill the burrito too, it adds some extra flavor and it smells soo good. I don't think it was wrapped evenly though since some bites were all meat and some were mostly tomato or guacamole. It didn't really matter to me though, it was still delicious ;) The green salsa is spicier than the average, and red salsa has a strong tomato taste.
