We started going to Fatburger at the Sherman Oaks location a few weeks ago and really liked it, but then today...my husband went online to order lunch for the two of us. I was running errands and according to the site it would be wise to give the restaurant a twenty-minute delay time between placing the order and pick-up. I called him to let him know I was about to begin my final errand and would be arriving at Fatburger in twenty minutes or so. When I got there they had no knowledge of my husband's order. I called him and he was surprised because he was confident he had done everything correctly to get the order through. He told me that to mention to them that if they did find his order to please cancel it as I was now going to re-order and pay in cash. When I mentioned his name they re-checked only to find the order had been placed and someone had forgotten to fill it. Then, they informed me that certain menu items we had ordered were not available and had to be revised. The food was not good. We were disappointed because we pay a premium to buy Fatburger rather than In'N'Out. So, after having to wait because someone dropped the ball in regards to our online order and for whatever reason the food was sub par we have opted not to return. I have no idea if others have had similar experiences at the Sherman Oaks location or in fact any of the others but I will say this. There seems to be a certain amount of apathy on the part of the staff in regards to service and we are sorry to lose a dining choice we had grown fond of. read more

I know everyone comes here and goes crazy for In n Out and they do have a patented taste... but not only do I believe that Fatburger has healthier options (turkey, chicken breast, boca burger, whole wheat, no salt, on the char) it tastes great and real close to home made. Place is open late, and this particular location has great friendly staff and they still have a charbroiler. Most fatburgers have free music too so I always make sure to pump as much Curtis Mayfield as possible. read more

Worst customer service I've seen, terribly slow no matter what the time, and they always ask for tips (which where I come from is rude and insulting). They ignore the phone if you try to call ahead. I hadn't been to a FB since the 80's; and I was taken back instantly wondering why I'd stayed away for so long... Check out the burgers, a bit higher than thirty years ago, but not by much... great service, great atmosphere and you have to check out the cool automated soda fountain. While the food is still a great non-traditional / traditional burger, the cool soda machine actually produces perky soda. I had fun!!! Only reason I'm giving three stars is because I like burgers from here but customer service is terrible. I was eating here and found a hair in my burger, not a small piece of hair, a nice dark long piece of hair that I was about to bite into. I called over an employee and didn't want to make a scene because I frequent this location so all I said was a burger replacement, which I came to use today. First they tried giving me a single patty for my XXXL replacement, then after convincing them to give my same order, they started charging me extra for my bacon, cheese, mushrooms and guacamole that I always order. Their excuse, "how do I know you ordered that before?" Authentic fatburger that I had as a little kid back in the 80's! I moved to florida for most of my growing up life and there was NO FATBURGER THERE. Very sad. But now I'm back and even got to introduce my girlfriend to these amazing hamburgers and milkshakes. Service here is excellent! The guy who runs the store runs a tight ship, and makes sure the quality of the experience as a whole is perfect himself by coming out and asking all the diners how everything is. The burgers are great and carry a hefty price BUT still worth it. The sandwich is big enough IMHO for 2-3 meals. Don't be in a hurry to get your order as it seems like you wait 20 minutes even if you are the only customer in the place - but worth the wait. read more

Bad experience all around. My first and last time here! The guy at the cash register when I walked in the door was unfriendly and did not even say hello. I ordered the veggie burger and fries to go. It took 15 minutes to get my order and I was the only one there. The place smelled like it has not had a good cleaning in months if not years. Bigger than your average burger. Whenever I'm feeling really hungry and need a juicy and savory meal I will stop by Fat burger. Always leave very full and satisfied. Their turkey burger is delicious and their fries and larger than McDonalds or Jacks. Almost like potato wedges. Definitely get more for your buck here. I did not like that their soda fountain tasted a bit watered down. Sometime slow service and some times fast. Just depends on what time you go. I think the burgers here are great but actually like there turkey burgers even more. The Patty's are thick and juicy and the toppings are fresh. I am a big fan of veggie burgers as well but I think the one here kinda sucks. I know you people are saying why would u go to fatburger and get a veggieburger? Well I don't anymore cuz they always have this really nasty burnt taste to them that is pretty gross. (Ive had it more then once it always tastes burnt) Def do not recommend it for veggie peeps. Love that there open so late though. Def takes awhile to get your burger. Sometimes up to 15 Min's if there busy. More expensive then IN N OUT that's for sure so expect to drop around around 9 bux or so for a combo which I think is kinda steep for a fastfoodish type burger. read more

I'm not quite sure what people see in Fatburger. This is the 2nd time I've eaten there and the burgers are just sort of boring. And expensive. I ordered a larger burger with cheese, bacon and all the fixings along with a banana milkshake. All I could taste was the fixings... mustard, relish, cheese, mayo, and pickles. As for the burger? It was pretty tasteless. Maybe they put too much mustard/relish? I'm not sure but for the cost of the burger (almost nine bucks) I expected better. I just had lunch at this fat burger with my girlfriend. The burger was predictably good and was up to other fatburger stores. What really detracted from our experience was everything else. My girlfriend remarked that when she moved to Studio City in 1995, she would go to this fat burger store and remarked that it was newly renovated then. Clearly there have been exactly zero repairs sense, much less another renovation. The inside had the unmistakable smell of mold, extensive use of duct tape throughout, and was dirty just about everywhere. The outside was a disappointing complement to the interior with cracking stucco, and incredibly dirty concrete at the ordering window.
