I was like okay perfect, I will do that instead. I put the order online and I finally got to pick it up. It was ready go and when I finally get into my car I was super disappointed on presentation. I thought I was going to get a burger that was lettuce wrapped but instead I got a munch of shredded lettuce, relish, diced onions and a full patty right on top of everything. It's not much too look at because they have kept it real and no frills. The building is original...and old. The building is so old that the restrooms are located around the back of the building. I ordered the large Fatburger, Fat Fries and of course, a Diet Coke. The restaurant wasn't super busy but they had a steady flow of folks coming through. It took a while to get my food, but it was worth the wait. My Fatburger was huge, and the fries were bomb! This late lunch/early dinner HIT THE SPOT! I've been meaning to write a review and since it's temporarily closed (FINALLY) it feels appropriate. This chain is not only the dirtiest restaurant/fast food joint I've ever been to, but the staff are the most incompetent. I am gluten intolerant. I also do not eat meat. 5 out of 5 times in the past year they've gotten my orders wrong. I used to have it delivered, but the orders were always wrong so I had to go there myself -- which was terrifying!! I even tried simplifying it by ordering separately from my family emphasizing GLUTEN FREE Impossible Burger. It got to the point where I had to walk in that disgusting dining area (likely vermin infested) to review everything. One time they even put real meat and still labeled it "Impossible". Last time I went, in early March, after checking my burger I saw they used regular buns. I approached the cashier and she had the audacity to tell me the buns were gluten free because she put that on the order -- I had the burger in hand said, "I know what gluten free is -- this is regular" and showed her. She saw that I was in fact right (surprise) and had their cook re-do it. Considering people with gluten allergies or celiac disease consuming gluten can cause a serious reaction, this is a major liability. Let's hope this place get their shit together read more

This particular Fatberger at this address in Sherman Oaks on Ventura Boulevard is superior. They are a franchise so they're not all the same. I've been to the one on Sepulveda and it had a skinny greasy patty. This particular location across from cadillac County quarter to Whole Foods on Ventura Boulevard. Is really great. There are more expensive hamburgers, places, and there are cheaper hamburger places but at any price this is one of the best burgers ever! The meat is good quality. They are plump and tasty not greasy. The staff is always extra nice. The fat fries are amazing and it's kind of cool. They now offer buffalo wings. They recently renovated and it looks as cute as ever. But yes, also their veggie burger is really delicious. I don't know about other fat burgers except a couple. I returned because after the last fiasco the senior manager sent me 4 free burgers to apologize, and waited this long until I started using them which has been about seven or eight months. Tried calling ahead, they have a phone that if it's busy tells you that it's not working, rather than just putting you on hold on another line. After three attempts I get through to someone named SHARON who without even checking says please hold, and puts me on hold for about four minutes. I take another call, call back to place my order so I have a chance of it being ready by the time I arrive, and again she starts put me on hold and I tell her I've already been holding, and would be grateful if she can take my order. She responds "give me one second" - which seems to be the millennial shorthand for "I have no idea how long I'm gonna put you on hold so I'm just gonna use the term one second... And keep you holding as long as I wish" After two minutes I hang up, because I'm already at the restaurant ... so now of course I have to wait for my order. When I try addressing this kindly with her saying please don't tell us one second, please tell us a couple of minutes or ask us to call back so we can be productive, she argues with me. She then defends her argument by saying she's "being polite" about it. As if she gets a gold star for being rude- but "being nic about it. It occurs to me that I've only had Fatburger once, the Beverly Hills location - it wasn't much to my liking, so despite that I have a Fatburger that's literally two minutes from where I live in Sherman Oaks, I've never tried it, which is astonishing when you think about it, which I just did. So, a little while ago, needing a late-night snackaroonie, I ordered via Door Dash the thousand island burger and onion rings. It arrived a mere fifteen minutes later, still nice and hot and I must say I liked it a whole lot. Just the right size for a late-night snack, very fresh and tasty, thousand island is always my favorite thing to have on a burger, and the bun was also very fresh. Who knew? But the big surprise were the onion rings, which were really good. So, now I suppose I'll start getting burgers from there. I mean, when you have meat that isn't frozen it really makes other fast food places taste like things you wouldn't want in your mouth or stomach. Now, I've just been told that this review is looking pretty epic and nice - but let me continue because older people don't know when to shut up. I always read with amusement the bad reviews for places like this. And they're usually the same - someone didn't talk nicely enough, the order wasn't ready fast enough, they were put on hold for too long - well, everything under the sun except, you know, the FOOD. And when it's the FOOD, we get "the burger was very plain." What does that even mean? Did they want the burger to sing a Puccini aria, to do an clog dance? No, they don't season it to death, it's a burger on a bun with lettuce and tomatoes and however you choose to have it dressed. I found nothing plain about it. It, in fact, tasted rather like a burger to me. That same person informs me that there are much better fast food options. Having recently had very mediocre and/or bad experiences at the local McDonald's and Burger King, I'd say no, other than In 'N' Out, there are NOT much better fast food options that taste as fresh as these burgers. The thing about Fat Burger is they allow you to customize your burger with all sorts of different toppings. Mushrooms, bacon, an egg, chili, different kind of cheeses, etc. They also got options to get stupid with the patties, add 4 if you want to challenge your arteries to a life threatening dual. I'm really bummed about this burger joint. It's very upsetting when you're craving something as simple as a turkey burger and it becomes impossible to get what your craving. This joint is not the place to go if you want a burger or anything really because you will leave extremely unsatisfied. I've tried this company's food twice and after the first time I swore I'd never go back and here I go today craving a turkey burger that I would normally get at Carl's Jr. But they've taken them off their menu and In-n-out didn't offer it so I thought hey I'll give this place one more chance and I'm really regretting that I did. The prices online are wrong if you're on the yelp app and it says "explore the menu" this locations prices are off by at least 50¢ each item. That's not a huge deal but it adds up. Especially when they charge you a $1 extra for a single slice of cheese it's ridiculous. I asked for my turkey burger with no pickles and although the pickles were taken off the relish which clearly contains pickles was not. Eddy could have clarified when taking my order but he didn't because he clearly doesn't give a sh*t about his job. I never said anything because my blood sugar was low and I needed to eat immediately and I didn't want to give the staff any more reason to spit or defecate in my food. Bottom line is go literally anywhere else for a burger I feel sick after eating there I honestly think they did something to my food it just didn't taste right. Upon leaving the establishment no one said "have a nice day" or even acknowledged that I was exiting the building even though two staff members eddy included were right there refilling napkins at the table.
