My family and I were craving ME food. We usually go sit down at Olive Restrobar but we decided to order and stay home for convenice. To our surprise, we had the worse customer service experience. They got our order wrong. No big deal, we'll go back. I ask the guy who took the order if we needed to take back the fries they gave us by mistake. He said, "no, don't worry about it". I send my son back to get our correct order. The owner, Ali, then asked my son where the fries were. My son specifically told him we were told to keep it. Instead of apologizing for "their" mistake he rudely asked my son, "you just want free food?" That of course bothered my son so he called me. I ask for the owner and advise him that we were told not to take the fries back. Ali then proceeds to say, "my employee said he never said that." At this point I have driven there twice and now been accused of being a liar. I corrected him and assured him the employee had suggested we keep. So he asked me if I was ok w him getting fired over his mistake? NEVER, did I imply the gentleman should get fired and he continued to threaten that he would fire him. At this point my blood is boiling that a business owner would act so malicious over a wrong order to threaten to fire his employee over that small mistake. I decide to go back at this point to return his order and no longer want his business as unfortunately we as consumers don't know what happens to our food in the kitchen to customers who upset employees or in this instance the "owner" enough to want to fire someone. I ask him for a refund to the cc used. I was upset that it was our THIRD drive there so didn't even bother check for a receipt. He then refused to give me a refund on the credit card used to purchase said food. Basically trying to bully me just like he had over the phone and in person about firing his employee. Little does he know that as a consumer I know all he had to do is swipe the cc or look for the receipt he had there. Ali is arrogant, rude, and perhaps should consider hiring someone to do his job as he's lacking customer service skills and business owner skills if he wanted to fire his employee for providing wrong information. Like I asked you last night, Ali, "perhaps YOU need to properly train your employees before being so readily to fire someone?!" What were you planning on doing with the fries you were so adamant about getting back? Throw them away? Instead of compensating YOUR customer for having to drive back. Which would had been fine if YOU hadn't been so rude and arrogant. Or perhaps you're just quick to fire a Latino? PS you could have had a new customer as I was going to share the fries w my brother. As a business owner you may want to incorporate the following: *Creating an atmosphere where employees are treated with dignity and respect-not threatening to fire them over fries. *Helping to ensure that employees conduct themselves in a professional and safe manner-inclusive of yourself. *Encouraging open communication between you and your employees-did you truly ask your employee wether or not he suggested we keep the fries or you just wanted to insult my son and I? *Ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and that they follow the same rules-not threaten to fire him while on phone with me or while I was at the cashier area with many many people standing behind me and sitting down. *"TRY" to keep a customer happy *"TRY" not to threaten and imply to your customer that they are lying Your food is definitely not worth the insult and inconvenience last night! Had to drive to your establishment THREE times and then to be harassed about my receipt when you have a very state of the art payment system. All you did was insert the card I offered from the get go. Finally, after reviewing prior reviews, I notice I'm not the first to mention the rudeness at your establishment. Most specifically about the "owner", YOU! Remember without customers, there is NO business! This place has some of the freshest meat in the area and I think it's also kosher (I might be wrong). I only stumbled across this place because of Yelp. I would have never found it otherwise. It's located within a tiny strip mall so you could easily pass by it without knowing it's even there. Friendly staff is just another plus to this place. read more

Moreover they have really good coupons from yelp and that gives you pretty much discounts too. The guy on the counter just gave me free water bottle too. Let me start by saying that my view of Fatima's Grill wasn't what I expected when seeing advertised on Instagram. I mean it looked fresh and delicious. I recently just visited there yesterday and bottom line I was disappointed. Me and a friend of mine dined there. The service was okay but the food was not so good I ordered the shawarma and chicken. The chicken was burned and the beef shawarma was over cooked as well. I've been to the Bell Gardens location before and had the best beef shawarma ever. When they moved to downey I was extra excited because they it was closer. This is my go to halal food and I love it. The owner is always there to make sure quality is of both food and customer service is on point. Entrees are rather expensive at $13-14 per plate for an average portion. I visited 4/2/2017 for the 1st time. Ordered a plate of Sawarma and a plate of Kabobs and 2 can beverages, paid $32 I frequent these restaurants 3-4 times per month. I don't mind paying the high price, BUT For the prices, Fatima's falls way short at: FOOD - No traditional small cup of lentil soup - Not serving Basmati rice, but just long grain. Rice is not the typical light fluffy Mediterranean. - No roasted tomatoes served as in most places - No roasted jalapeño pepper as in most places - No salad or tabbouleh option for your plate - No shaker with Anardana, the traditional pomegranate seed spice found at EVERY Mediterranean restaurant PRESENTATION - What is a kabob without the stick, right?... It takes away the expectation and emotion for them. - Pita bread is placed on top of the serving orange plastic tray without a paper, napkin or plate. - No forks, knives or napkins or straws provided. Neither available at the table or a bar. Even the straws and napkins are kept behind the counter AS FOR "TACO TUESDAY" Don't want to anticipate the worst, but sure hope the left over Shawarma & Kabobs don't get streamed out to the Latino Community via $0.99 tacos.
