This is my second time ordering PIZZA from here and I absolutely LOVE it! Ordered wings and fries as well and they both were great. It's a little expensive but you definitely get your moneys worth in food. The deep dish works pizza has everything on it and weighs like 6 or 8 pounds! After one slice I am stuffed. First want to say they were very pleasant. The quality of the meat they use is very good. Unfortunately one of the pizza's were over cooked. We ordered the thin crust due to time constraints. The deep dish takes 50 minutes so be aware you are sitting waiting for a long time. They did not have enough sauce on the pizza for our liking. read more

We ordered two pizzas on Sunday to be delivered. They told us it would be about an hour-which was fine. We had called them at 5:15, we were still waiting at 7!! Just ordered from them and when they say 45 min to an hour they mean it, even if it's just a hamburger, cheese steak and fried mushrooms. All and all it was ok. Mediocre food for a decent price. I love reading all the reviews about this mysteriously good Fatman's Pizza and Grill... the smell of the pizza, the amazing Chicago style deep dish...you would think that with my one star rating- I have already tried Fatman's. But, NOPE! And I won't. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after driving by one day, and we thought.... that HAS to be good pizza with a name like that. One day, we called and placed and order for pick up, for ONE medium pepperoni pizza, that's all.... just one pizza, and they told us the wait was going to be over an hour!??! That was ridiculously long in our book and at that point were already hungry so we opted for something else, no big deal we thought, they are probably just super busy. We called back a week later, thinking we would give it another try. My boyfriend got put on hold for 10 minutes. TEN. In the mean time, he could hear the waitress taking other customers orders. Finally someone got back with him to only to tell him that they hadn't forgotten him and would get to me soon. He mentioned that he had been on hold for a while and asked when he would finally get to place our order, which the employee replied "Well, I'm getting to you right now" in a very rude and impatient tone as if he had no business asking why it was taking so long. He asked if the manager was there, which she said yes. He asked to speak to them, and was again given an attitude and she said "What can I help you with". He asked if she was the manager, and after a brief, incomplete sentence that again showed her unprofessional demeanor, handed the phone to the manager. He explained the situation, and surprisingly he was very rude as well in his explanation that apparently he had to "wait his turn" (apparently that takes over ten minutes) because they are "the busiest pizza place in town". If they are so busy and as popular as they let on/seem to be, perhaps they should hire some more employees to manage the busy times. They just lost two customers, who didn't even get to try the actual product- all because of poor customer service. And trust me, word travels fast, and I will be very happy to let others know (if they ask) about just how terrible the customer service is at this place. read more

Very good pizza for Arizona. It is a Chicago style place, I am from NY so I am a harsh pizza critic. I paid $24 for an 16 inch thin crust loaded with toppings, sounds pricey huh? Well me and my buddy ate 2 slices each and were full and we are not small guys with small appetites either. I have ate twice there and my only complaint is it is a bit slow to get food out but well worth the wait. Oh, one more complaint, get a location in Tempe, AJ is too far from me. ;-) read more

We grew up in the East Valley/AJ and surprisingly last night (Wednesday at 7) was our first time in to this little gem, Fatman's. In short, the food we had was delicious and value is excellent - we left stuffed for under $20. Staff is very hard working and polite - you will be taken care of with respect. Facilities have a charming small business feel. It was after the rush, but there were still 6-7 other parties in there. Everybody I noticed (most of them seemed like regulars, which says a lot in my book) was enjoying their pizza. The Mrs. had the meatball sub - thick & juicy meatballs, the sauce was was great (not the cheap sweet garbage), & the mozzarella was piled on... my wife's highlight. I had the Philly - packed with tender juicy beef, peppers, onions, & mushrooms, & topped with that delicious mozzarella. Both were, hands-down, amazing. We will definitely be back! I'm excited to try that pizza! For you Yelpers, you will not be disappointed. Just temper your expectations that this is not fast food, but worth the wait. This Wisconsin girl is HAPPY! Once I bit into the cheese bread I had to ask and sure enough, the cheese IS from Wisconsin and the meat is brought in from Chicago!! WOW, I'm amazed. The pizza was the best I've had in Arizona so far and the Chicken Parmesan was just as awesome, not to mention HUGE portions!! 1st-time customer. This is NOT Chicago style deep dish pizza. Totally skimped on the marinara and the fLaVoR (NO zest whatsoever). Gave up pizza for lent (40 days!) and called to inquire about the lower-than-sub-par pizzas we received. Like others have said, this is a cash only restaurant, so beware. If they took credit cards, they'd rate 5 stars. The wait staff is friendly and the food is good. If you order the deep dish (delicous) pizza, do yourself a favor and spend the extra buck on additional sauce. It is a little spendy but it WILL fill you up and holds up well as cold pizza leftovers. Fantastic employees, they aren't just like any random business workers, they joke around with you and take time with you to insure you have a good meal and enjoy eating it. BEWARE OF PRICES!!!! This pizza is ok, but the prices are outrageous. I looked at their website, then thought it would be ok. When I got there, I was given a different price. Almost 25% higher. When I asked about the price, the girl stopped me before I could even say it all "oh you must have looked at the website, ya we just got a new menu and the website it wrong". I said that wasn't right, and she said "sorry, that website hasn't been updated in like 5 years". OK so did you JUST get a new menu? Or has it not been updated in 5 years? Or is this just all greedy bullshit? Too bad too, because the pizza isn't bad. If you like lots of cheese that is. Chicago style for sure. But not "Chicago Pizza" like their website says. I've eaten pizza in Chicago, even on Rush St. No comparison. And I just have to say, the responses I'm seeing on here seem to reflect that the original owner should have never turned loose. Ordered stuffed deep dish veggie pizza which took an hour to make. That wasn't a problem. It was however barely warm when we received it straight out the oven. The wife was fantastic and very nice! Discounted our meal due to cold pizza. The best part was the cannoli!! She makes it when you order and it is to die for!! My wife and I have been going to Fatman's for pizza once a week for about 15 years. I was born in Chicago. This place had an atmosphere of Chicago. It was fun, it was friendly and the pizza in my opinion was the best west of the Mississippi. Now the atmosphere is gone. The fun is gone and the pizza is lousy. I've ordered delivery from here before, and it had previously has been a pleasant experience. After a very frusterating phone call to order 2 pizzas on a what-should-be easy and slow tuesday night, I gave up and ordered pizza hut. The girl at the other end was completely unprofessional and was distracted by someone else talking to her, I even had to ask her stop listening to the other people and to listen to me. She didnt even notice I had ordered 2 different pizzas with two different toppings by the time I had her read me back the order. Then she said my one pizza was going to be burnt because they were going to go in at the same time? I was so frusterated that i told her to cancel the order. I always love the pizza. Tonight, we ordered chicken strips (pretty hard to eff up) for the kids & they were over done. A burger (which was fine if you like frozen patties). And a french dip (no complaints)..... The big issue for me, was that I live 2 miles away and it took 1hr 40min for delivery. The food was still hot when it got here, so it wasn't the driver's fault. Where should I start... First off they clearly don't live in the 21st century.. The hours listed on Google are incorrect I drove all the way there thinking it was open come to find out they only open at 4pm not 11am . Not exactly sure why but I decided to give them another chance so I went back after 4pm of course . I then learn once I get there that they only accept cash . luckily they have an ATM handy so I. Would spend money to get money out to pay them for my pizza... Why make the customer pay 15% of the total to an ATM machine to pay for the pizza.. If you had a credit card machine you can build the 3% fees you pay into the cost of the pizza... This is a huge turn off and not to mention a huge inconvenience. If I had to rate just the pizza alone I would give it 3 stars . it was decent but surely not worth all the trouble to get it . I would like to hope they would read this and learn to better serve their customers... But I know that won't happen based on the fact they neglect to update information on huge sites such as Google . read more
