Very very ordinary Thai curry. I've been eating and cooking my own red and yellow curries for a long time and this one wasn't pleasant. The potato wasn't peeled, it felt like it had been cooked in the microwave and was all wrinkly and shrinking. Gross. Also, the curry had slices of tomato in it. I've been seen that. A fruit doesn't belong in there IMO. It was barely edible. No love at all. Upside, my kids PB&J and fries were great. read more

This is a tough one to rate. Let's start with the positives...the food is amazing!! We've been 3 times and ordered different items each time. All of them have met or exceeded our expectations, and we set the bar higher than most. The pineapple fried rice, panang curry, kale and dill curry, garlic green beans, and mango sticky rice are especially delicious. The downside is the service. The staff is friendly, but really, really slow, and forgetful. You can see it on the faces of all the customers. Twice we've watched a table sit there for 15-20 minutes waiting to put in their order and clearly getting frustrated. I hope the owners are reading this because we want you to stay in business!! The inconsistent service will keep people away. Also, just a side note for greater appeal. The patio could really use better upkeep - weeds pulled, roses watered, and plants trimmed up some. read more

FAV has become my boyfriend and I's go-to restaurant for date nights (or any night, really). After a couple visits, we have become regulars. The always friendly staff basically knows our order (for me, chicken pad Thai without bean sprouts). They also know much we love boba, and trust me, they have THE BEST boba in the valley (can't go wrong with taro or avocado!). The food and service is always consistent. The restaurant itself and clean and beautifully decorated. The best part is that the owner is often there as our waitress, so you know she's super involved with her businesses. If you want more recommendations, I recommend the massaman curry, pineapple fried rice (served in a pineapple), or the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. read more

I have to agree with some of the other reviews on here. If you are in a hurry, avoid coming here! The food is always good, and I love that they have lots of healthy, vegan options, but the service is slow. Tonight it was PAINFULLY slow. This place is an unsung hero. The neighborhood doesn't have many restaurants so I'm glad that fav is here. We have done brunch and dinner multiple times. Brunch is a unique experience, they offer classic Asian breakfasts like egg and rice porridge with chicken as well as yummy American cuisine with an Asian flair; ie amazing coconut milk pancakes. Dinner is a huge menu all of which has been yummy but it's definitely the Asian food not the European that shines. My "favs" at fav have been the soft shell crab and the scallop green curry. I went there with some of my family recently. We really liked it. I got the Thai Fried Egg. It probably wasn't my favorite breakfast but it was really good and it was different and I appreciate that. But even something as simple as the pho was super delicious. The spring roll appetizer was very delicious and so was our other dish. Hidden jewel, My first time I had the Creamy Seafood - WoW loads of seafood, some tempura, some curried in a coconut! ( became my take home box. Fantastic flavors, best curry I have ever had - I like it on the mild side. Everything fresh. Good service, some of the waiters are a bit newer and don't know the menu as well. Overall, satisfying and tasty. I had the yellow curry noodle soup, and the flavors of the curry were definitely reminiscent of tea rose. I didn't know Anny opened this restaurant until reading other reviews, though it makes sense now why the flavors were so similar. My friend ordered the rice/veggie/egg dish, and though I can't remember the name, it was also delicious. We both ordered the kombucha--which definitely tasted homemade--totally worth it. We both ordered soup, beef pho and Tom Kah. The Tom Kah was almost $20. While the components were fresh there were chunks of coconut shell that were tough and left sores in my mouth. We went here last night because we have a Wasatch Savings card. They were pretty busy considering it was 8:00 PM on Labor Day. The service was very good and the Pho was excellent. Sitting on the patio is the way go, provides a very nice atmosphere. Will come back again. read more

This has become my favorite restaurant. My husband and I have eaten here several times. Each time we've had something different from the menu. We've tried items from the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Every time it has been fantastic! The ingredients are so fresh and the flavors so vibrant. The taste differences in the dishes are so diverse, I could eat here everyday and not get tired of eating here. They are very accommodating to our vegan diet. They've gladly made everything we've ordered vegan for us. The servers are gracious, the service is quick, the restaurant is very clean, and the atmosphere is peaceful. They even offer kids plates that are unbreakable which meant our baby could feed herself and she loved it! Four of us dined at Fav last night and we're all fans now. The suggestions from our server (the owner?) were delicious and spot on. The service was perfect and dishes arrived in a timely manner. We ordered the red curry crab, shrimp and grits, and the coconut soup over rice. Coconut 'meats', milk and coconut juice all simmered with tasty veggies over rice. We loved the roast cauliflower appetizer too. Three entrees and an appetizer shared amongst 4 people and we still had lots of leftovers so the portion sizes are perfect for sharing. My mom brought me a salad a few days earlier with fried tofu and I'd never order that, but everything else and more, I'd love to try. They have a decent selection of wines at not outrageous prices. This was my 3rd visit to FAV and I have to say I was disappointed. My first 2 visits were so great, 1 for breakfast and 1 for dinner. This time it was dinner with friends. There were two of us waiting for a third for about 15 mins and except for water and menus we were basically ignored until long after our friend arrived when our server finally took our orders. My first disappointment was with the menu which seemed to have changed into mostly Thai dishes, which is fine except the former menu was so much more innovative. Our server was pleasant enough but never offered any specials. We ordered the popcorn pork appetizer which looked so good online but was kind of a disappointment when it arrived. It was basically fried ground pork with a boring sauce. Not a lot of flavor. I ordered one of the few non-Thai dishes, Shrimp and Grits, which was very good but very rich and very filling. I left half of the grits. My friends both ordered Pho which they seemed to enjoy. While we were eating our server came over and admitted that she had totally forgotten our drinks, which we hadn't noticed either since we were deep in conversation. An honest mistake, but she wasn't very attentive anyway. We were never offered dessert and someone else brought our check before we even finished eating. She did however show back up to take payment and did box up my friends' leftover Pho. We checked out the dessert case before we left and several items looked very tempting but we all decided to pass.
