My local business has ordered Favela's for various conference and executive meetings throughout the years and have always been happy with the service. . . . until today. My admin assistant went to pick up Favela's for an executive meeting using her own credit card. The card didn't go through. I told I would provide her with a credit card number to pay over the phone. The girl ringing up the order said we could not pay over the phone. I asked to speak with her. I explained that I had a group of 20 executives that are scheduled to eat in less than 30 mins and that we do not have time to drive back to our office to get a different credit card and then back to Favela's to pick up the food. I explained that are a long time customer and have paid by phone many, many times before and that I really needed her help here as to not cause a huge delay for the guests were were hosting. She refused to allow my to pay by phone and also stated that it was "ILLEGAL".It is one thing if the restaurant has decided that they no longer wish to accept payments over the phone but it is an entirely different thing when they are misinformed and providing untrue information to the public! I asked her what she does when she calls to order a pizza? Does she think that when they ask "will you be paying by cash, check or card" that they are doing something illegal?! I am completely furious at their inability to help us in this predicament and insist that paying for a pick up order by phone is illegal. My business has spent thousands of dollars over the years with Favela's and will NOT be using them again the future! Local businesses to the Fairfield area: steer clear! read more

I love Favela's Fusion. I have now been there at least 12 times and each and every time (all lunch except once for dinner), the service was excellent, the food is great and I haven't had anything that I could complain about. I love asking for guacamole with a kick and just yesterday was in after a time away and ordered a Chile Colorado Burrito. It was seriously the best burrito I've ever had. Not too spicy and finger lickin good. The lunch specials are all good since I've had them all, and I love the Chicken Tostada Salad. Pleasant pricing, easy going atmosphere. I've been here 4 times now over the past 2 years and have had a great experience every time. It's a great half-way mark between Sac and the Bay Area so if you're meeting folks halfway for business or personal reasons, this is a great spot. The atmosphere is nice, and the food is great. I am really picky when it comes to eating mexican because there are so many in this area - I can afford to be choosy! The things I test for are :1. chips/salsa, 2.guacamole and 3. carnitas. All three of these items at Favela's are amazing. Their guacamole is actually the best I've ever had in a restaurant - I rave to people about coming here just for the guac! I've a number of other dishes from here as well, and they've all been delicious. The only downside is at night they sometimes have a mariachi band.... this sounds like fun, but the band plays literally for hours and they are LOUD. They came to our table and played like 3 songs. I was really wanting them to finish after one, but they played 3. How does one tip on something like that? Other than that, this place is great. Highly recommended if you're in the area. read more

Second time to this restaurant. The food is good the ambiance is good, except some loud folks at the bar towards the end...The wait staff needs training though. It's awkward when you walk in, do you seat yourself, do you wait to be seated. We ordered water and drinks from the get go, never did get the water and the cocktails came out at different times...The waitresses and the busers just seemed overwhelmed and confused. My BF's plate came out a full 5 minutes after the rest of our parties dishes were served - We had to ask for dessert menus and then remind our waitress that we we're still waiting to order...Again food is/was good, but I won't go back because the service is so poor. $145 for 4 for dinner I expect that we at least receive water, especially when it's requested and that all the dishes are served together. read more

I stopped in here for lunch because it was in the same parking lot of a store I was at. It was a pleasant surprise. The inside is nicely decorated and modern. The menu is also modern with a good selection. The service was very good. Our waiter was attentive, as was the rest of the support staff. I had the carne asada tacos. They were very good. The meat was tender and tasty. They were not shy with the meat either. My tacos were not just stuffed with lettuce like many other places. The complimentary chips and salsa were also very good. The chips were thicker than I am used to, but tasted good. The hotter of the two salsas had a better taste. I also tried their desert pastry. It was delicious. It was a hard chocolate shell with a sweet creme and a piece of short cake inside. The only issue I had was that I ordered my tacos without guacamole and they showed up with guac on them. They quickly fixed this and were very apologetic so I was happy. read more

Food is excellent, but don't come here if you want the same regular burritos and nachos you would get at the other two Favela's. This has a little more of an upscale feel to it. The food is... well, fusion. You don't even feel like you're in Fairfield. (I know, sad to say, right?) I would have given this place four stars, but I was not thrilled with the happy hour. Used to be very good. Not anymore. I had dinner tonight with a couple of friends and nobody thought that the food was good. Bland beyond belief. I had a carnitas quesadilla and the pork tasted old. My friend had shrimp that had probably been frozen in a thin tasteless sauce. Thé marguerites are thé best in town but the food is not good. Even the chips tasted old and stale. Truely too bad because it used to be good,never great, but good. Not even that now. I will not ever be going back unless it's strictly for a drink. read more

Worst experience ever! Dined at this restaurant a dozen times and this was the worst experience. There were a total of 6 customers and 2 waiters--pretty good ratio, you would think. However, our waiter was incompetent. We placed our order and after 10 minutes I had to remind him that my husband had ordered a strawberry lemonade. THEN the waiter brought us stale chips and with only a side of salsa even though we had ordered a side of guacamole. THEN, when I received my entree, he forgot to ask the kitchen to top the entree with salsa and didn't even bring a side of salsa. If there was ever a time to describe a restaurant as a "hidden gem" than this is the time! My partner & I met up with a friend in the Fairfield, CA, area as we came from opposing directions. We spent the day together and when it came to dinner time we wanted to go somewhere nice, not too fancy, where we could enjoy each other's company. Nowhere came up on Yelp or searching so we opted for Mary's Pizza Shack which is a longtime favorite for all of us. When we arrived to the very quiet shopping center in which Mary's is located, we spotted Favela's Fusion right next door. It looked very inviting so we decided to try it out. We soon realized this was a very good decision (but still love Mary's...). The waitress was friendly and welcoming, all of our food was delicious, the prices reasonable, atmosphere fun and overall we can't wait to go back. Please give this place a try and tell your friends; they're tucked away in what looked to be a deserted shopping center (the larger store was vacated). I hope more people discover this place and have the same good time we did. read more

Been going here for years and never yet disappointed ! They have a PREMIUM tequila bar, plus all your usual favorites in adult beverages. The menu is small, but everything is fresh and very well made. You haven't tasted guac until you've had one of their guac-bowls. A MUST TRY... get it spicy ! They tend to hire a lot of young people who are eager and friendly. Eager and friendly tends to annoy me, but I'll let that go. WARNING... although I love the place, and I love the food, drinks, ambiance and coziness, whenever they book a musical act, INVARIABLY the music is too loud. The name of the place really threw me off because when someone says "Fusion" in the rest of the restaurant world, it implies a fusion of cuisines, not the case here. I was part of a work lunch and there were several mix ups between the wait staff and the kitchen. We were a bit pressed for time, so several of us just shared what dishes made it to the table. Fine. But one of our party eventually complained to the owner and she did the craziest thing! She brought out her staff and scolded them in front of us! No joke here! She did not comp us dessert or drinks, but rather was really harsh on her own staff! Wow. I cannot recommend any place that is owned by someone who chooses shaming over some type of compensation. I did not even care about the money at all. That was just ludicrous. Food was fine. Bar staff was knowledgable. I have never felt unwanted in a restaurant, this would be my first experience in writing a bad review. If there was a visual definition on being labeled i would fit that definition at that time. This really needs to addressed to all overall the service was terrible, the constant being bypassed by other customers and not even refilling of my beverage. I was in the mood for Mexican food so decided to come here. I walked in and was impressed with the decor, lighting and art work. After being promptly seated I was brought chips and salsa and I placed a drink order. The chips were fantastically flavorful as was the two salsas - red and green. I have been to a variety of restaurants and these chips and salsas are primo. I had a strawberry margarita that was the bomb. The flavor was incredibly good. I ordered the Chile Relleno Con Carne with Spanish rice and refried beans. Upon taking my first bite I was overwhelmed by the succulent and enchanting flavors. I was thoroughly impressed by every bite thereafter. The flan was wonderful as well. This was a meal fit for a king! My son who accompanied me was thoroughly pleased with his meal as well. I met my GF there and thus have a special place for the restaurant, but aside from the Happy Hour [which even itself had gone downhill.....], I feel like the new owner truly is missing the sentiment and feeling it had before. I've been going to Favala's since it's was a hole-in-the-wall kinda place and liked it better that way! Don't get me wrong, I do -- or did like this new deal but lately, the last couple experiences have been HORRIBLE, specifically a certain waitress and waiter. And I can say I enjoyed going here and being waited on by Laura in the past, excellent. But I don't know if there's a new owner and/or management but something has changed?! I came here with a friend on a Saturday night, and they had live music! Very classy! The food was OK, we had the giant two person platter/bowl thing that had all of the different meats/veggies from the fajita plates. The shrimp was OK, not too overcooked, but not that flavorful, the steak and chicken were about the same, and the whole two person bowl thing really was just not that impressive besides the actual presentation. I would definitely skip this for something else. I tried to look for a menu to get a name for this dish, but that isn't on their website, but it's the only 2 person dish on the menu. The service was nice, except the fact that the heavily accented waiter decided to ask if we wanted guacamole. I definitely said we were OK without it, but proceeded to ask about jalapenos, which I had no idea was part of the guacamole. I thought it had to do with the dish we ordered. So another waitress comes by with the guac, and we tell them we didn't order it. And then the waiter comes by with it and we tell him we didn't order it. He seemed pretty disappointed, and we weren't 100% opposed to having it, but OK, that's fine we'll take it. Guess what? It costs $6.75. I won't go on, but you can guess that I don't like to be swindled when dining out. And I'm shocked because the service was actually good besides this screw up. The servers really seem to be walking around with their heads cut off. I just think that the people there need a little more organization and it'll be a 4 star or 5 star place. The vegetable burito was good, but way oversalted and turning me off from returning. Not sure why the vegetarian burito had sour cream listed on the menu. Get the vegetable burito. Semantics are important. If they can stop serving soupy sour cream when I ask for a side of it, I'll consider coming back. Suggestion: Even when I wasn't vegetarian I've always used IMO. It's thick, a sour cream alternative, melts over hot food beautifully keeping its structure (real sour cream turns comparitively soupy), tastes good, and lasts in the fridge. Finally tried Favela's for happy hour this Saturday. Kudos for offering HH on a Saturday! Our waitress was excellent. She consistently checked on us and refilled our HH beers. Love that they have Victoria on tap! Love the ambiance and decor. I also want to return on a Friday evening for live music. The appetizers we tried were good, not great. We had the sopes (meh - mom makes way better), guacamole (obviously a hit since almost every table in the restaurant ordered the guac), flautas (these were pretty good), street tacos - I would likely not order carnitas again. Next time I'll give the nachos, quesadillas and margies a try. Fairfield desperately needs more upscale, yet casual establishments for HH like Favelas. I Love Favela's Fusion! I come to Fairfield two or three times a year and I always make sure to stop by. Love their enchilada sauce, it's not overly hot but has incredible flavor! Their Mole is to die for and you must have the guacamole. It's an upscale casual environment and I have never had poor service. I really enjoy their bar! I am typically traveling alone and there always seems to be really friendly folks to chat with. Keep up the good work and I'll see you in a few months! read more

We've been coming here for a couple of years and the food has always been great! The margaritas used to be great until about a couple of months ago. Now they are weak and off-flavor. The most expensive one (El Matador) tastes just like the house margarita. Very disappointing! My constructive feedback to a manager didn't make a difference. This is too bad because we really like the food. We like a good margarita with our food too which, it appears we can no longer get. Walked in this place not knowing what to expect, looks quite modest from the outside, once we walked in the ambiance felt just right, we sat at the bar and the bartender welcomed us immediately, she made me a white Russian and an old Cuban for my boyfriend, both were as good as they could be. Food wise I would definitely give it a solid A plus, everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and service was fast. The restaurant itself is small and beautifully decorated, and a little off the main roads for travelers through town.
