When upon arriving to Fazolis, I'm not gonna lie it was very sketch. I almost felt like it was a Taco Bell but Italian version. A drive through Italian restaurant would scare most people. After I decided to quit being so judge-mental, it actually surprised me. The chicken Parmesan exceeded all expectations. Perfectly placed in the middle of the pasta with a nice marinara spread. I went here once right after it opened, years ago, and was unimpressed. A friend recommended their sandwiches, but when I received mine, the toasted bun was stale (the 2nd week of operation!) I gave them another chance recently, and the first impression inside was whew!, you can't overcook that quantity of garlic accidentally. It was an insistent, upper-cut to the schnoz. It reminded me of my first apartment, where all of my neighbors were these hapless Indian & Bangladeshi bachelors in graduate engineering programs who either never learned to cook, thought it beneath them or properly left to a wife, or who knows what else, but they simply would not learn how to use those little knobs on the stove range. They would stink up the entire apartment block with fried, nay scorched garlic cloves for their store-bought yellow curries. They would set off their smoke alarms, and then leave their doors & windows open to dissipate the smoke from burnt garlic & ghee, giving us cause to crack wise about the apparent air raid (pre- 9/11, BTW.) The Fazoli's garlic assault on my olfactory sense continued in waves. I watched cheese-covered items appear on the only part of the kitchen prep are I could see, and with each one, a fresh roar of herbal halitosis. I decided on their original sandwich, which was $5.50 + tax. They handed me a wireless pager even though I ordered to go (see the above digression on burnt garlic). I had to hold this silly thing, which probably was bought used when the restaurant opened, and reminded me of gas stations that chain a wheel-cover to their restroom key. Yup, its taking that long. Finally the ridiculously big pager vibrated, and it wouldn't friggen stop. When I got my sandwich home, I gave it an extra whiff to insure I didn't eat any ot that scorched garlic. There was a strange smell when I opened it. It came from a strange looking sausage (I think). It tasted a bit like dog food: yes, I used to be a mischievous little kid who lost a bet. Removing the mystery meat, what was left was ordinary looking lunchmeat-style salami, ham, lettuce, tomatoes, a overabundance of very thin, watery mayonnaise, and no cheese. The bun was small, but nice, although I had to eat fast to keep all that runny mayo from turning the lightly toated bun soggy. read more

I was not impressed at all to be honest. Now my expectations were definitely quite low, but I think I will pass next time. Service was good at the counter, but the expo/runner girl seemed lost and could use a refresher on customer service in my opinion. Not the type of ethic I would want directly representing my company to customers. Food was pretty damn salty. I knew this was not going to be a healthy option but wow! Lasagna tasted of salt, butter, cheese, and more butter. Sauce was present but non existent in the flavor department. The salad was alright but they forgot to give me some croutons. I really wish restaurants would get rid of those automated tea dispensers. The tea tastes so horrible in those machines. I got the white tea with citrus and it tasted like sweet and chemical... I see price is great on certain days, but 8 bucks for what I got did not seem worth it at all. I could easily find a more satisfactory meal in a frozen lasagna and water for the same price. Seriously, I don't know why people are so anal about this place! The food is ridiculously cheap. Of course it's not high end restaurant status - go to Olive Garden or some other place for that! The food is average - tastes about like something I'd make at home, but it comes out relatively fast. And if you ask for breadsticks they'll keep serving them for free. We've eaten Frazoli's probably 4 times since it opened. We went in the first time the first week of them opening, really liked the service, the food was good, not great but could eat there for their price. I've gotten the chicken parm twice, the tomato cheese sandwich, and the combo plate with lasangna. Truth is the chicken parm taste as good in some of the frozen entree in the grocery market. I was intrigued to come to Fazoli's when I heard about their $3 special on tuesdays and Thursday's. I'm very picky about my spaghetti and my Alfredo, I like them both extremely seasoned. Most of the time that I go to restaurants.. even high-end restaurants, their pasta is always exceptional to me. So I would say if you want restaurant grade pasta for cheap, head on to fazolis! It was a fairly good portion so I ate almost my whole plate. Also I'm a huge pizza lover and I just think their pizza is fantastic. I loved the pepperoni pizza. I'll be dinning in there a lot. I told the guy at the front counter, and never did he mention how much extra he was going to charge me or even if he was. I ended up paying more for breadsticks than for my meal. Upon receiving my review, the owner of the restaurant was diligent in correcting the sanitation issue and in reprimanding his employees. The expeditious action taken demonstrates a dedication to quality service. I witnessed an employee drop the tongs they were using to pick up pizza and breadsticks on the floor. This place has the worst customer service in college station. They take forever to answer the drive thru window / give you your food, give you wrong receipts, and leave you with soggy breadsticks. The girl who's always working the drive thru has a bad attitude and will straight up ignore you. I corrected her and she literally whispered "puta" under her breath like I couldn't hear her. This is by far the worst meal I've had in college station thus far. 8$ bought a plate of fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, breadsticks, and a medium coke. The cup the coke came in claimed that the pasta would be "al dente" , but the noodles tasted as though they had been cooking for an hour and had the firmness of a wet napkin. I'm almost certain that the Alfredo sauce was of the variety that comes in a powdered form in 50 gallon drums. That wouldn't be so bad if it didn't taste like elmer's glue watered down with tears. The chicken tasted as though it had been marinated in urine, as I noticed the distinct taste of ammonia. The breadsticks had the consistency of foam and offered no substance or flavor. I feel as though I have been mugged. My money has been taken, I feel queasy, and my stomach is actually in pain. Worst food I've had in a very long time. 1 star because 0 is not an option. I wish I had not seen this restaurant from afar and made the mistake of giving it the benefit of the doubt. I used to LOVE coming here on Tuesdays for the Trio meal. But today I got just that, and it was the worst one ever! The pizza was burned and my friggin spaghetti wasn't cooked all the way. Quite a few of my noodles were still crunchy! I know we only pay 2.99 for this meal, so I guess you get what you pay for, but come on guys, there should still be some sort of quality control. Spaghetti is really not that hard to keep up with, you boil the noodles and put sauce on top. That's it! What was so hard about boiling for the correct amount of time? We drive all the way from Tomball to here every few weeks for the pasta and AYCE breadsticks. Crazy, yeah, but it's a nice drive and the reasonably priced Italian fare is consistently tasty. Fast food Italian, this place is exactly that. I'm not expecting authentic or posh cuisine here, just quick filling grub for a low price. Got the spaghetti and meatballs came with two breadsticks which were soft and genuinely hot out of the oven and the Italian ice with strawberry. Main course is a massive portion I don't think I would recommend it for those on a low carb regiment, the sauce is about as good as you can get in a can from Hunts and the meatballs are probably of the frozen out of the bag variety i.e very low on flavor but high on fillers. Overall a good option to have when not in the mood for burgers or tacos. Three stars because I don't downgrade a rating because of "chain" status, and because it's average fair. read more
