Came here for the first time tonight. Have to say. Very good food. We ordered the FDs combo which had grilled lemon butter shrimp- fried shrimp - crawfish etouffee and 2 sides. The other dish was the Alaskan fish and chips. All of which were delicious. And good. Only bad part was the restaurants floors were a bit dirty and Most of the unoccupied tables in the area we were in needed to be wiped down. Our waitress was very kind. Kept our drinks full. Great burgers sometimes undercooked for my taste and trio dip with chips. One of the best places in Tyler. Great service and atmosphere.

Everything about this place is just fine until the food shows up. Over cooked shrimp with most of the shell still on laying beside 3 soggy lumps of tasteless breading was supposed to be stuffed shrimp. Steaks have no sear and very little flavor. Tasted like select beef. Service was ok but our waiter was obviously frustrated and in the weeds. This is our third and last try here. Suggestion. Charge more, better quality, details in the kitchen. read more

First time coming here, and I tried the Spinach Dip Chicken Pasta & the Key Lime Pie. Well I ordered to go but the pasta and pie were AMAZING. Pasta wasn't dry like some restaurants serve and Key Lime pie did not taste frozen. Everything was Fresh, and I will definitely return. read more

We ordered drinks and we waited until our drinks were gone before we complained that we have not received our order. The waitress kept saying it was on it's way. Three people arrived after us and received their food. We asked for our bill for the drinks because we were leaving. The female manager came over and went to go see where are food was. We saw her talking to someone and all we wanted was the bill for our beverage. After waiting too long we got up and walked out. This is strike 3 for this restaurant for us! read more

First visit here for lunch and was unimoressed. The food was above average for sure but the service and cleanliness of the restaurant WAS NOT. No silverware was provided but we scavenged some from other tables. There was visabke debris, straw wrappers, crumbs on the floor right at my feet. Sticky tables and menus make for an uneasy experience.... Then the dirty floor and makes you wonder about the kitchen... The Bacon Burger is worth ordering for sure!!! Fries are meh... Maybe if they had a little seasoning, were fresher... Or something.. I will give this place another shot. Probably for dinner. read more

We tried FD's after a long absence. The good -- the key lime pie was delicious. Otherwise, just so-so. One set of silverware wasn't clean. Several of my grilled shrimp were not fully deveined. Service was only perfunctory. Might come back sone day for dessert; otherwise, moving on. read more

Food was excellent. I had a Mexican style chicken fillet, which was fork tender and delicious and I had some more left for the next day. Service is excellent. The exterior is well maintained and plain. The inside is roomy and minimally but tastefully decorated and not touristy . Many locals go there . While visiting my family this past weekend hubs and I decided to check this place out because of the previous good to great reviews posted by others. I'm going to be honest they are what a really good TGIF Fridays should taste like. The food is practically they same as Fridays but many times better. It was on a Saturday night so there was a wait to be seated. The length of time they told us up front was almost on the dot. We were greeted promptly by our waitress and our drinks were delivered quickly. Our refills were quick enough that we never ran out of sodas which is always good. I have a shellfish allergy so I noticed they only had one appetizer that I could get. We got the tortilla chips with salsa, queso and one other dip I can't recall what it was. Our favorite was the fresh salsa. We can only hope someday they bottle the stuff because it was amazing. I got the BBQ ribs, fries and coke slaw. I wasn't able to eat the ribs without a fork because they kept falling off the bones they were that perfect and tender. Hubby got the cedar plank salmon. He was really content and happy with his meal. By the time we finished our entrees we were too full to even attempt desert. We noticed they had a bunch of really good looking fresh fruit alcoholic drinks and deserts. The prices are insanely cheap. We were shocked to have two meals, an appetizer and drinks for under $40. We made sure to give over a 20% tip because the meal was so cheap I felt bad punishing the waitstaff by given her such a small amount based on the percentage of such a cheap meal. Based on the quality of the food and price point we will definitely be back the next time we are in the Tyler area. This place is good! The steak was great and so where the apps. I recommend the firecracker shrimp appetizer. Really good. So we're the dips and chips. Drinks were good and they have a nice selection of scotches and wines. Good all around. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. All in all a good place to take a date or a large group. read more

Yelp reviews doesn't do justice to this place. I was alone, wearing a sweatshirt and denims and looked so underdressed. But they welcome you no matter what you wear. Servers are warm and welcoming. Explains the menu, makes good suggestion. Cocktail menu could be ramped up a little bit but they have small but good selection of wines. Firecracker shrimp and the Tilapia Alexander was my choice of food and I was satisfied with the quick service. Pretty good place given the size of the town. read more

My BF ordered the sirloin and shrimp. He ordered the steak rare. It came out medium. He asked for it to be remade and while they were remaking it he started eating a shrimp and it was cold and rubbery. When the waiter brought back the steak, he attempted to tell him about the shrimp but the sister just walked off. Once our waiter came back he told him about the shrimp and they were remade also. I ordered the fish tacos. They were more like a fish quesadilla. When the check was brought back there was not any discount given. When we asked about a discount since my bf plate was completely wrong the manager stated that when she goes to a steak house and the steak has to be remade she doesn't ask for a discount. She was EXTREMELY unprofessional! She ended up giving only $8 off. We will not be returning here. read more

We come to FD s regularly. We find the food to be consistently good. After a few times of having poor service we started sitting at the bar. We always get good service at the bar. Today, however, we wanted to sit in a booth. That cost us the good service that we enjoy at the bar. We will be back but will at in the bar. read more

I'm not sure why there are so many great reviews of this place. Maybe I went on an off night, but it was nowhere near a 4 or 5 star restaurant experience. I had the crab and cheese dip appetizer and an 8 oz filet with baked potato entree. The crab did not taste fresh - it reminded me of canned tuna with cheese. Accompanying the dip were a couple of nice crostini and a bunch of tortilla chips. I was a little confused by this, but ok. Presentation was lacking in everything I had (as you can see in the pics). I asked for medium rare and my filet came out well done - not a pink strip in sight. I almost never send food back, but come on - that was way off. Not sure if it was a kitchen or server mistake. My server did ask if I wanted bacon on my baked potato, to which I replied "yes"! No bacon on the potato. Not much taste. When I received the medium rare steak that was pretty mediocre as well. The onion ring garnish was great. I wish the rest of the meal had been. read more

My mom could not stop talking about how she loved this place. We went with her to see what all the fuss was about. The place is fairly new and looks really modern. Walking in the front door it had a strong smell of seafood in the air. They serve quite a bit of it here so I guess that's fine. It looks clean, well maintained and the staff are very professional. We received very good service. The restrooms were really clean and nice. There were 5 of us at our large booth. We ordered various dishes and they were fine with giving different sides if you wish. I ordered the Fish and chips with cole slaw. Temperature of the food was fine, the beer batter on the fish was perfect, fries were fries. The fish had No flavor, just lack luster and the cole slaw was diced with almost no flavor as well. I was disappointed to say the least. Thankfully they did bring malt vinegar and tartar sauce. I think they made the tartar sauce in house, it was good, but not the best I've ever had. My mom also ordered the fish and chips with sweet potato soufflé and she really liked it. My husband had the seafood sampler with a tiny piece of salmon, crawfish etouffee, grilled shrimp, green beans and couscous. He said the couscous and shrimp were the best part, green beans were cold when they arrived. My son had the ribs and chicken strips with a loaded baked potato. He did not care for the sauce on the ribs, he said the whole meal was very basic with almost no flavor, gritty in texture. My daughter had the chicken strips with fries and honey mustard. She ate it, but she is a 12 yr old with an appetite. She also had the coleslaw and did not like it, basically took one bite of it. We all agreed we would have enjoyed Cheddar's scratch Kitchen more than this place. Second visit, April 27, 2018 date with my husband. He had the chicken strips and fried shrimp with sweet potato casserole and sautéed green beans. I had the cup of gumbo and firecracker shrimp appetizer on a bed of cabbage. Hot fudge sundae for dessert. Yum! Yaaaasssssss Queen! Finally, I really enjoyed the food. My Husband enjoyed his as well. Thanks for taking it up a few notches on the delicious scale.
