The bacon, Portuguese sausage and Kalua pork was good. I think if they dress up the place a little better make it nicer it would be so good. The lady at the counter was nice and it's like an old mom and pop diner. Overall definitely would come back because the taste was good.
Still great delicious food. Went for lunch and we had the salmon salad done different styles I had the salmon, watercress, tofu salad $17. It was a huge salad! Totally filled the take out box. Came with a large piece of moist flavorful salmon, grilled just right on top of tofu cubes and huge amount of greens. I had the shoyu based dressing on the side and also the ginger green onion sauce for the salmon. Filled me up. My friend had the soba with the salmon $19. She agreed the salmon was done perfectly. We also sampled the petite lobster roll $11 that was on Magic menu special. The lobster meat was pretty chunky. Solid lunch- the items on the Magic menu looked pretty good and reasonable in price. In a cold case were lemonades-mango, hibiscus and strawberry $6. Good place to grab lunch
I love lobster rolls and heard Feast had one of the best, if not the best, in town. I came here for lunch and can honestly say this one is the best! The taste of the lobster is what sets it apart from the others. It costs $30 but it's worth it given the amount of lobster you get. I've had cheaper ones but they were also smaller and not as tasty. There are other items on their menu so I'd like to come back to try them. The food must be good since a restaurant without parking wouldn't survive otherwise. There is however, parking in the neighborhood.. Atmosphere in and around Feast is very casual, relaxing, and enjoyable. Service here is also good!
I've been here twice now and the food has been great, but the overall experience is a bit odd. The ambiance gives the vibes of having moved in and set up business in a previous business' space with the previous business' decor, not really caring about the dining room, and kind of perhaps being burned out or having given up on the customer experience. Most of the decorative lighting fixtures have burned out bulbs. Windows are dirty. Recycling on full display. It's counter service plus some refrigerated cases where they offer a variety of drinks, desserts, and sauces to go. Make sure to bend over and look to the back of the shelves, because there may be things hidden back there that haven't been pulled to the front of the shelf, and you can't see them unless you bend down. Lobster rolls are $30 so I didn't spring for that, but I had a bento plate that was delicious, and included hamburger steak, orange chicken, chili, and rice. Overall I really enjoyed it, although some of the seasoning seemed slightly off, with the orange chicken tasting overly salty, while the hamburger steak seems under-seasoned. Chile was da bomb though !! Also there's a 4% surcharge for paying with a card, which I hate, but am slowly becoming resigned about.
My go-to spot for a lobster roll in town has to be Feast. The lobster roll is always fresh, buttery and full of flavor truly the best I've had here. The service is consistently fast, kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. What I love most is enjoying my meal while taking in the gorgeous mountain views of Mānoa Valley it feels like such a peaceful little escape. If you're craving something special, I can't recommend Feast enough. Supporting them feels good because they pour so much love into what they do :))
I'm not sure if it's because they may be busy with new year's orders or what, but I was disappointed with lunch today. Still gave 3 stars because of previous good experiences so I'm hoping this was just an odd day. Lobster roll $30 - where's the meat? If I shifted the meat to one side, it probably was only half the bread size, and small pieces too. Nicoise salad $20 - glad this one was decent. Good size salmon. Good cook on it. I think they should use their other dressing instead though. Jon lechon $19 - mostly fat. I know lechon is belly, but there should still be some meat. I liked the vinegar sauce. But wish there was meat that I could eat. Also wish the rice was softer. The extra chicharrones pieces were exciting to see, but sadly inedible (could not chew). Fish of the day $21 - I don't believe online said what the fish was. But the picture and description led me to think it would be similar to a Chinese style ginger-green onion fish filet. Instead it appears to be an ahi steak, well done.
First time here. Ample parking on the street anywhere surrounding the establishment if you don't mind walking. It was a nice walk and not too far which was good because it was raining a bit today. I ordered the shawarma with chicken. It was the first shawarma I've had that used chicken thighs instead of chicken breast. I guess it was supposed to be a build it yourself type thing because the pita bread was in a separate package. They were sliced in triangles so I wasn't sure how to go about eating this as a typical shawarma. I soon figured it out that the pita is for the hummus and you just eat everything separately. Or maybe I was doing it wrong.... Lol.... The food lacked flavor or probably the spices that typically go into making a shawarma were just not there. I'm guessing this is a more of a takeout establishment because they served us our orders in takeout containers, but we ate there. A family of four ordered right after us and they spent over $120 on lunch served to them also in plastic takeout containers.
Lunch for 3 in Manoa... Located across the street a little past Safeway, this restaurant is located on the corner. They do not have a parking lot, so we had to find street parking. Ordering process - you order with the cashier and they bring your food to the table. I had the soba noodles salad with salmon. It was fresh tasting with a good light flavor. My husband had the hamburger steak plate. The patty was homemade and was delicious. With Mac salad and rice - a good local plate lunch. The chef here is John Matsubara who was on Alex vs America. I remember watching that episode and he kicked the Iron chef's you know what lol. I did enjoy my lunch on a nice rainy day. It has a feel good, hipster atmosphere.
As a lobster roll lover, this is among the better lobster rolls on the island. I like the lobster and the soft buttery bun. My gf loves the crispy fries. Not a cheap sandwich but worth splurging on.
Okay, so first things first, if you're planning to come to Feast for a great dine-in experience, you're not going to get that. There's no parking really, and just a few tables where you can sit and eat from your takeout containers. Not exactly the ambiance you might be looking for. Having said that the food is so much better than the ambiance would suggest. The lobster roll was rich and buttery, and the other specials all looked delicious too. Service is basically just counter service, but it wasn't too slow, and the food was hot and fresh. Would definitely be back.
Luxury Plate-Lunch - I forget where I read/heard that about Feast, but that is a short and simple way to really describe potentially what may be available and at what price. I first ate here during 2020 so it wasn't somewhere to sit and eat, and I still have not tried sitting here. I usually enjoy my meals on-the-go since the reason why I'm here is probably because work sent me to Manoa to work. But, I highly recommend calling in your order since they're fast, timing is great, and they can get pretty busy. As far as food, call me crazy but the $30 lobster is kind of worth it. Maybe it's because my husband and I split it so it was (technically) only $15 for the regular sized option, but man did we love it. What I didn't love was the magic menu sized option. The magic menu is a great way to bring in customers who are on budget or eat less, but still want some great food; most items on the menu are $10 and are just smaller versions of the regular menu. My favorite to get is the John Fried Chicken (JFC) and I love the fries and gravy that come with it. I also don't know what they bread the chicken with, but it's sure unique, even the gravy on the side too! I definitely recommend the regular size option if you're not interested in the magic menu. Why did I knock off a star? Sometimes I just can't get the price at some places. I also wish there were more items on the magic menu. Would I still eat here again? Of course! Would I recommend my friends and family to eat here? Yeah, pretty much. But most likely we'll all wince at the price juuuuuuust a little.

Just a heads-up: gift cards aren't accepted at their farmers market locations, and they serve chips instead of fries there. Since we had a gift card, we went to their Mānoa restaurant and I'm so glad we did because they serve shoestring fries that were super crispy and bomb! The Lobster Roll is served on three Hawaiian sweet rolls grilled to perfection. Although I think the rolls slightly overpower the lobster's natural sweetness, they still make a great pairing. The lobster meat is placed on top of the rolls rather than stuffed inside, which makes the portion look a little bigger than it actually is but they're still generous with the lobster. I ended up slicing each roll down the middle and stuffing the lobster inside so I could eat it without everything falling off. I believe the owner took our order, he was very nice. They also have plenty of tables, so I recommend staying and eating there while everything is fresh. If you're craving a lobster roll, this will definitely hit the spot! read more

Excellent lobster roll in a cute spot with a homey casual vibe. We love the grilled Hawaiian rolls cut down the middle in a classic New England style. You get three rolls, generously filled which pull apart nicely for easier handling. Service could not be friendlier providing a true neighborhood feel. read more
Located in Manoa slightly across from the Morning Glass and Bangkok Chef strip of stores, Feast sits in a squat building on the corner of the block. With the bushes, red awnings, and vines creeping up the walls, the building looks quaint and cute. Inside has the same open air and quaint feeling to it. I do not believe there is a parking lot but there is street parking around. We have done takeout a few times from here, and the service is pretty good. They have been timely and professional. We got the loco moco, chicken shawarma wrap, and catch of the day, which seemed to be ahi. We have previously tried the lobster roll, which was OK. We have heard a lot of good things about the lobster roll but I thought it was alright and maybe a bit too rich. Not the worst thing to be. We got the mini from the Magic Menu, which seems like a good idea for trying smaller bites at a cheaper price. The loco moco was pretty good, as was the catch of the day and the wrap. It is all alright, the prices are a bit high for us though. read more

Craving Lobster roll and fries. Feast never disappoints when I get that. LOtsa lobster, choke skinny fries. But then I got kula salad and salt meat & watercress for dinner and lunch. The salad had most the rib and light less healthy parts of the lettuce. And salt meat and watercress hardly had any watercress! Looked more like just a garnish. Both tasted good but fell short of expectation. Little disappointed. read more
Oh My God!!! The lobster sandwich was so good!!! I've seen something posted about this restaurant on Instagram, I recognize the restaurant one time driving by going to Doggie Bakery . Ended up going to the Doggie Bakery today. And noticed that the restaurant was open, it's Ash Wednesday and I was looking for some type of seafood for dinner. Mosey on down to the restaurant, ordered my $30 lobster sandwich, and another $30 lobster sandwich for my husband to take home. There were a few people in the restaurant sitting inside and outside. It's a really small restaurant nothing fancy. But I heard that the food is really good. They have plate lunches taking up a notch. I hear that the chef here is really good. Sad to take lobster home, you know because of the reheating. But the sandwich was good. I ate mine as soon as I got home, it was still warm. The meal came with string french fries. Everything was so good. I thought, I needed a sauce for the sandwich, and didn't need anything, it was perfect. The lobosandwich came with the authentic toasted bread, like you would get on the East Coast. My husband and I will be back, sooner than later. read more
I know they're known for their $30 lobster roll, but I wasn't feeling it. I was happy to discover that they have mini plates available, and the photos of their Hilo-Style Hamburger Steak looked too good to pass up, so that's what I ordered. I decided to do curbside pick-up and my food was ready at the designated time that they quoted. The negative about this restaurant is that there's no parking, not even for curbside pickup. You have to find street parking. I parked on the side street near the Manoa House, and they brought it to my car. The mini hamburger steak was just the right size for me. It came with one hamburger patty, rice and a small mac salad in a mini bowl for $9. I typically rate all hamburger steaks by the quality of the meat and the gravy. The meat was just okay. It didn't stand out whatsoever. The gravy was flavorful, but I like mine a little darker. The mac salad tasted like a light version - almost like they left out the mayo. Let's just say that the photos of this dish looked better than how it actually tasted. The one thing I like about this place is that they have a mini plate menu, so you don't have to get the large lunch plate. I may possibly return to try another mini item and hopefully increase the rating then. read more
When we go to Feast I usually get the JFC (Jonny's Fried Chicken). I just love the tenderness of the chicken and the crunchiness of the skin. Love it! In fact, now that I think about it, that's the only thing I've ordered On this visit, though, I thought I'd try something different. Ordered the Shawarma Plate w/Chicken. It included chicken, Kula lettuce, local cucumber & tomato, hummus, tumeric rice, naan bread, and tzatziki sauce. The flavor of the first bite of the chicken was great! The spices were just right and the chicken was tender. I immediately thanked myself for trying something different. I must say, there was a decent amount of chicken and I just love the flavors; the spices on the chicken and the Naan w/the hummus! I was totally satisfied and happy with my meal My wife ordered the Salt Beef Watercress soup which had Big Island beef (cheeks), chili pepper bouillon, watercress, and rice (on the side). I took a sip of the soup and wow, the chili pepper taste was just right, hitting the back of my throat; it added another dimension and enhanced the flavor of the already tasty soup. A very simple soup - refreshing and not greasy at all. The beef was oh so soft and tender. I was surprised that my wife enjoyed the soup - she doesn't like soup. That says a lot about it. I like this place as it's quaint, laid back, and with a nice Manoa breeze flowing through. The staff have always been pleasant and what's really cool is that if you're eating in, they'll bring your food to the table - that's a pleasant surprise. To top everything off, we even had the opportunity to talk to the Owner, Jon Matsubara, who casually came by to see how we were doing. He's a really down-to-earth guy with great stories about his food/dishes. Mind you, this may just been lucky for us that he had the time to step out of the kitchen... Easiest five stars for me - it checked-off everything for me, food, service, and ambience. I just like things simple and relaxing. You'll have to find parking on the street as there's no dedicated parking for this place. I'm already planning on what I'm going to order on my next visit... read more
We had the entire location to ourselves for this International Wine & Food society - Hawaii Chapter dinner event. The menu consisted of a wide range of items from hamachi and lobster to beef. The presentation of the food was great especially considering they were serving so many of us! The service was also efficient and pleasant. I am not the biggest fan of lobster rolls but I was surprised with how well prepared theirs were (I was told the restaurant was well known for their lobster rolls). There are not many nice restaurants within Manoa so it was exciting to patron a new spot and support local chefs/retaurant owners! read more

Tried their Magic Menu; got two things - A petite Lobster Roll & a Cheeseburger w/Chili on it. The Petite Lobster Roll ($9.99) - first of all; if you haven't tried their Lobster Roll; it is one of the best, if not the best one in HI. This petite portion is about one third the size of the regular roll; therefore about one third of the regular price (about $30). I'm sure one could argue that it's too small for the price; but for me, it hit the spot. 5 stars for me here. Cheeseburger w/Chili ($9) - I guess I was trying to see if this chili burger sort of recreated the famous LA Tommy's Chili Burger. It did fall a bit short of that, plus it was a bit too salty for my taste; although it was filling. I would rate this one, 3 stars. But one suggestion that I think would have improved on this burger a whole lot (of which I thought it included but did not) is to add a couple slices of tomatoes. That would have definitely made it a tastier juicier chili burger. :) Order online for faster pickup. There is street parking around the corner. read more
My first time to visit this establishment. Basically it is counter service with tables provided. Drinking vessels were provided with ice water. Not sure about byob, but they do sell beer and wine on premises. Entrees were very good. Beef plate could have had a bit more in the serving portion, but it could have been a lunch menu vs dinner. The IG stories made me think this place was all it from FROLIC posts. read more
When you think of places to eat in Manoa Valley, FEAST has to come to ones mind. What you never head of Feast before? Well my friend you better put some clothes on and hightail it over the hill to grandma's house and stop by and get some local comfort food on steroids. The staff had a warm and welcoming smile and no wonder as they should be happy as they have one of the BEST Lobster Rolls on the island. In fact I believe they were voted as the Best Lobster Roll on Oahu. My first bite of the lobster roll made my eyes roll to the back of my head as the freshness of the lobster combined with a light mayo lemon and scallions was popping in my mouth. It was overflowing in a buttered Hawaiian Sweet Bread. It came with shoestring fries which tasted amazing as well and was a perfect match with the lobster roll. I think lobster prices have been going up recently so what was like $25 for the lobster roll is now around $30. I think its the average price as I seen other places are around the same price. So this was a treat for us but not a everyday thing. We also their Jon Lechon which is pork belly. I think I'm used to the Chinese way as it didn't hit the best taste for us but it was tasty. Since it is a Keto friendly plate, there was no rice but came with baby lettuce and a keto mac salad for $19.50. The better half loves chili pepper water and she picked up their "Fist of Fury Chili Peper H2O and it was very tasty indeed. And for $8.00 for a 12 oz bottle was well worth it and highly recommended. I'm looking forward to coming back to try their Big Mac & Fries, Chicharrones and their Shawarma plate. BTW if you didn't know the chef and owner of this fine establishment is Jon Matsubara who was named as one of the top chefs to watch. Jon worked at some of the finest establishments on Oahu. He won tons of local awards and was featured at the James Beard House in NYC, the Food Network, and many others. I'm sure without a doubt you will find your favorite dish or dishes to eat over here. 3.5 stars Feast is located in Manoa and currently offers outdoor dining due to COVID-19. There is no indoor seating at the moment and they are abiding by social distancing protocols. The staff wear masks and there is sanitizer available. There is ample street parking in the residential area near Feast. I quickly found a spot right in front of Choco le'a. My friend was running about 15 minutes late and I'm glad he was because I was waiting outside for him. It made me realize that if we dined there, I would die from how hot it was. We conveniently relocated to my place to eat comfortably so it was a nice blessing in disguise. We both ordered the Lobster Roll. With prices increasing for all goods, I wasn't surprised that it was $30 each order. The order didn't take too long to come out and we were on our way. We saw a lot of people coming in to pick up phone orders. If you're on a time crunch or don't want to wait, I recommend calling in your order ahead of time. The Lobster Roll comes with fries and that's it. No ketchup or anything. There is a "decent" amount of lobster wrapped in 3 Hawaiian sweet rolls. The taste is very good, probably the best on island. Their fries are crispy and quite good for fried food. Portion wise, it's small and both of us were hungry after. Worth it? I'll let you decide. read more
I thought I had posted this a while ago but obviously not. I had a $100 certificate for Feast and wanted to try the lobster rolls so ordered this on Aug 31st. I had tried lobster rolls from the Cousins Marine Lobster (seen on Shark Tank) food truck in Las Vegas and they were awesome... and pretty pricey (or so I thought at the time) at $19 each. The lobster rolls at Feast are even pricier at $30 each (to be expected with the extra cost of shipping lobster to Hawaii...but still really pricey). I ordered one roll and two petite lobster roll "kits". I gave one kit to my daughter and saved one for myself to eat later. I also ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich since I love a good steak sandwich. The lobster roll was good; nice and warm on toasted, buttered sweet rolls (They use three sweet bread rolls for one sandwich rather than a regular bread roll). It included a lemon wedge and Sambal sauce. It's definitely best when you squeeze a little lemon on it and a small dollop of the Sambal. The same items are included in the kits but it's best if you toast and butter the rolls yourself and slightly heat the lobster for about 10-15 sec in the micro. I was disappointed with the cheesesteak sandwich. Maybe it was just mine, but there was gristle in almost every other bite. If there's anything I detest it's a gristly piece of meat. I'm hoping this was just an "off" day for their sake but I didn't enjoy it. Their food pickup process was very smooth and easy, which is good because they have limited parking and seem to be pretty busy. Living in Kailua and driving down to Manoa for a $30 lobster roll may not be a one time thing but not a regular thing either. This neighborhood eatery was on my dining list prior to leaving home. With a plethora of places (new and old) that I wanted to dine at, paring the list down was an unenviable task. As I sat at home reading and studying about new places (within the last 3 years since that was my last visit), I looked forward to finding a lunch or dinner slot to dine here. Only being three days in on our weeklong trip, we knew a Saturday visit to the KCC farmers' market was a must especially after a three-year hiatus. But, of course, when we got there, it was storming, I mean like lightning and thunder kind. We waited in the car for ten minutes for the rain to ease before deciding to brave the weather. This was literally a whirlwind trip as we worked through the 1st two aisles seeing a number of new stands as well as noticing many pre-2020 ones no longer there. I saw this stand and figured that I'd come back after getting my usual mollusk favorite first. Just as I finished ordering at the other stand, a bullhorn sounded and the organizers announced that the market will close in fifteen minutes due to the dangerous weather. Not knowing whether we'd make it to Feast's brick-and-mortar in Manoa, I made my way back to their stand and placed my order. As they were breaking down their tent, I asked whether it was more prudent to order two minis instead of the full order of lobster roll. As I walked back with my food packed in my backpack, we were in full game-show mode as he wanted to make a run to the swap meet at Aloha Stadium. the next morning for breakfast. Well, after all of this mad dashing around, we ended up meeting a friend for sit down lunch and dessert so that lobster roll would become a future meal, but not too distant since it is lobster. The next morning, I passed on the comped breakfast and ruffled up my sleeves to dig in on this. The bread was soft and sweet, consistent with local bread. Now the lobster, let's just say that the claw and knuckle meat pieces were overflowing from the bread and, unlike many that I've had at home, not heavily doused in mayonnaise. This is truly one of the best lobster rolls that I've had and I would get this again. The bag of chips? Well, I munched on that while watching the news before dinner the night before. I am happy to have the opportunity to try this and, after a local friend showed me their Chinese New Year's prix fixe menu that we just missed, I would like to dine in at the restaurant next time on the island. If you're at the KCC market and are willing to spend $ on that other seafood stand a few feet away, I seriously suggest trying the lobster roll here. read more

Lobster rolls? Yes, please! I've been following their Instagram for a while and haven't had the chance to check it out until recently. It's located on the corner of Lowrey Ave and E Manoa Rd, a little further up from the Manoa Marketplace. There's an area for curbside pick up on Lowrey Ave. not too sure about the parking situation if and when they do dine in. My friends and I all got the lobster roll that came with fries. The order is actually relatively expensive ($30, yikes) but understandable because lobster. We did an online order and called to pick up. The food smelled and looked amazing (peep at pic). I was sooo hungry while we looked for a place to eat so I munched on the fries. SUPER crispy! The way I really like fries! No ketchup was given but the fries were sooo good on its own. When we finally found a place to eat our food, I couldn't wait to try it out! The sandwich was connected by 3 rolls which made it easier to eat. Lobster was soooo good. Currently hands down the best one I've had in Hawaii. Lots of flavor and big pieces of lobster! The bread, too, was really soft and buttery. Lobster rolls are generally expensive so paying $30 shouldn't really come as a shock. Thankfully it's not $30 for ONLY the sandwich but came with delicious fries. Never fails! Fish of the day; Shawarma & the burger! Absolutely delicious! Service is always excellent & I love their setting! If you haven't been and are in the Manoa area you need to stop in! They also have the best Lobster Roll. read more
I had bookmarked Feast to try since last year and finally got to try the popular lobster roll. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, and I parked down the street and walked over. It's a cozy space that feels very down to earth. As I was ordering, Chef Matsubara came out to talk to a friend who had ordered. I think that's great when chefs do that. The lobster roll was amaaaaaaaaaazing! Some places just dowse the lobster in butter and put it on a roll. But it's the umami mayo and lemon that really compliment the lobster. Soooooooo good! And that it's served on toasty sweet bread makes it even better! Nice crispy shoestring fries come with and I ordered a refreshing mango lemonade. There are other items on the menu, like the salmon soba salad or one of the shwarma plates. The lilikoi cheesecake sounded tempting too! Friendly service and great vibe, I will definitely be back!
