    Brunch menu 3/1/26

My go to here is getting an espresso martini and the burger with fries(sometimes truffle fries). The service is usually good. The espresso martini is a consistent drink, nice coffee flavor and shaken enough to create a foam top. The burger with fries is filling for 1 person. I've also tried other dishes such as their lobster roll(which was ok), chicken and waffles, mushroom risotto, their korean breakfast bowl(which wasnt that great), softshell crab benedict. Depending when you go, it can be busy so maybe make reservations. For the most part, this restaurant is consistent food and service wise.

Wonderful breakfast get together with Yelp friends Gail U. and Donna O. at et. al. 5 stars for the great get together! The restaurant has a large bar and counter top area. The bar chairs have gorgeous fabric backing with flower leis. Very welcoming to those who enter the establishment. The tables are standard, as well as the chairs. Spacious area with a variety of table sizes. Service is generally attentive and friendly. We were not rushed out and we were able to eat and talk at ease. Food is average. The Haupia (coconut) French toast was unremarkable. The Haupia flavor was missing and the bottom pieces of toast were on the mushy side. I was not a fan of this dish. Gail's breakfast included a side of 'ulu (breadfruit) tots. This was unique and tasty. Thank you for letting me try it. Donna's mochi waffle was crispy and slightly chewy. The honey walnut chicken was unremarkable. The presentation of this dish is a big fail. Please look at the photos. Thank you for letting me taste your dish. I enjoyed my refillable iced coffee. Perfect for a warm day. Coffee flavor was subtle and almond milk blended well. Bathroom is Not available within the restaurant. Et Al has quietly become one of those places I know I can always count on. My best friend and I came here for one of our lil dinner date --a tradition we try to keep every so often. We've both been here plenty of times with our families over the years, and we'll come for both brunch and dinner depending on the occasion, but this visit was for dinner. Their menu was recently refreshed, so while a few favorites remain, there are quite a few new dishes to explore. I ordered the Watercress/Kale Salad with Grilled Chicken, while my friend went with the Mushroom Risotto topped with Shrimp. Both dishes were fresh, vibrant, and beautifully plated. Nothing overly complicated--just well-executed food that's consistently reliable. Of course, cocktails were a must. My friend paired her meal with the Lychee Hibiscus Martini, while I started with an Espresso Martini. I'm always on the hunt for a standout espresso martini, and this one definitely delivered--smooth, balanced, and one I'd happily order again. The biggest surprise of the night, though, was the Matcha Whey cocktail. After visiting countless cocktail lounges, I wasn't expecting this drink to stand out as much as it did--but it absolutely did. It looks light and almost transparent, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was expecting, but instead it had this incredibly smooth, creamsicle-like finish that was completely unexpected. Easily one of my favorite cocktails I've had in a long time. My only disappointment is that the bone marrow is no longer a item on the menu. It was one of my favorites, and I hope it makes a return someday. Et Al continues to be one of my favorite dependable spots on the island. It's the kind of place my family gives gift cards to for birthdays and special occasions--not just to me, but to other family members and loved ones as well--because it's somewhere we know we'll genuinely enjoy. Whether it's brunch, a casual girls' night, or a special occasion, it never disappoints. Looking forward to seeing what else comes with the new menu, but one thing's for sure--I'll definitely be back. One thing to note is the parking. There's a shared lot for the businesses in the shopping center, and I've never had much trouble finding a spot. That said, the layout can be a little awkward with its narrow lanes in the entrance and tight turns, so navigating through the lot can be more of a headache than actually parking. Fortunately, once you make it through, the convenience of having dedicated parking makes the visit pretty hassle-free.

6-3-2026 We arrived a few minutes before our 9 a.m. table reservations . We could select any table so I asked for the one in the corner: more room, less tables nearby. Our server was very patient as we decided on what to eat and drink. Very knowledgeable of the menu choices- what was popular and what ingredients were used. We each chose something different. Donna had the chicken and waffles plus iced coffee, Jackie tried their French toast and added cream to her iced coffee. I had 2 poached eggs, strips of extra crispy bacon and good tasting ulu tots( breadfruit tots) plus an Olena refresher. On the Open Table on line reservations you can notify them if someone is celebrating a birthday. They brought a nice big scoop of the BEST mango sorbet to Donna with 3 spoons for all of us to try- it was really good. They have beautiful counter chairs decorated with printed views of draped leis.

This is one of the things I love about Hawaii...an upscale restaurant run by a grocery store chain featuring excellent locally sourced food. I feel like you don't find this anywhere else in the country. Et al. exceeds in service standards, which is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is modern and fresh. Very comfortable! We started with the Sumida Watercress Salad with Green Goddess Dressing. Yum! I had the pan-seared kanpachi over choy sum in a spicy chili water broth! Absolutely delicious. My dining companion had the mushroom risotto and it was a stand out! Reservations are recommended.

Monday May 25, 2026 first time, coming here. Private parking lot for a lot of food places. We didn't have a reservation. We were seated in 5-10 minutes. We came here for breakfast. But, they have a brunch menu instead. Service was fast and friendly. We both ordered the Braised Short Rib Loco Moco. Food came out shortly after. It looked good and tasted good too. The Braised Short Rib was super soft. Ambiance is casual and comfortable in here.

This is now my favorite meal at this restaurant. I am a pescatarian, so I get this at least twice a week. It's so good. I highly recommend it if you like fish. The service is always great. Never really busy when I go in, typically go in around 830-900 on the weekends without a reservation. My boyfriend gets the Loco Moco (he thinks it's one of the best on the island). The restaurant is located inside Foodland, but it's a really nice, clean, aesthetically pleasing place inside My only issue is that I try to call and order ahead for a to-go order, but I can rarely get through.

    Lobster Roll
    Grace W.

We enjoy coming here for the lobster roll but recently the price has gone up. The market price in March was $45 which makes it quite an expensive lunch. You do get decent chunks of lobster though. The seasoning seems to have changed a bit. Seems to have more seasoning than prior times. It is also on their dinner menu but being a sandwich makes it seem more fitting for lunch. It is not on their Pau Hana menu, so if you're there between 3-5 pm the lobster roll is not available and there are only four small bites to choose from.

    Pan fried chicken thigh
    Crystal A.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch and it was fairly busy. It can get loud especially with larger parties. The waitress was very attentive and our food came out quick. I got the honey walnut chicken and mochi waffles, which was delicious. My friend got the pan fried chicken thigh, which she said she enjoyed. It was a coconut chicken over a salad and a side of rice. For dessert, we got coconut and mango sorbet. Both was tasty and creamy! I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

    Amanda M.

We chose this location due to a friend's recommendation. We reviewed the menu online before arriving, so we knew what we wanted to order. When we got there, they gave us a lunch menu and told us they changed the menu that day. It was their first day with a new menu and hadn't updated their website yet. My heart was set on the garlic chicken and mochi waffles so I was upset cause the lunch menu wasn't my jam. However, the server informed the manager, and he was able to accommodate my request for the chicken and waffles. I was really appreciative that they were able to do that! Had a nice meal and tasty drinks.

    Maui Beets
    Nikki U.

I've always wanted to try this place out and I was glad I did. We ordered the Maui Beets, Tagliatelle, and et al. Burger. The beets were just so yummy. They had a tangy sauce that was bright and lively and paired well with the earthy beets. The tagilatelle was also good, but quite small for the price. Finally, the burger was good, kind of your average burger but the fires where AMAZING, super crispy. I think this place is good but its pretty expensive for the amount of food you get.

    Linda T.

We came on Mother's Day during brunch hours so the service was a bit slow as expected. The food took about 25 minutes to come out after ordering and we got the fresh catch, clam chowder, and lobster roll. The lobster roll...while it had a generous portion of lobster meat, some pieces tasted a bit..off. Like slightly stinky after taste. And too much mayo/sauce on the bottom made it feel like a soggy $45 mayonnaise sandwich. The fries and clam chowder were really good though. My water was also empty and no one came to refill it until after we asked for the check. Overall not bad but could be better

It was our first time dining here last night (7/11) and what a gem of a restaurant! Chris was our…read moreserver and let us know the specials of the day. He described everything with such care that it was hard not to order everything! I'd highly recommend a reservation as there was not an empty table the entire two hours we were there. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it can get quite loud but our table had great conversations and a overall lovely time. Appetizer: We ordered the konpachi hush puppies (apologies, they had a nicer name but this is how they were described to us) and they were delicious! I'm not a lover of fish, but these were so flavorful and the sauce paired perfectly with it. Drinks: I had the meringue di cedri to drink and it was akin to a lemon drop (10/10) it was sippable and lasted my whole meal. Husband had the Hana Koa Rice Breaker, which is one of his favorites as its smooth and pairs well with honestly anything. Entree: You will be missing out if you don't get the lemon risotto. I ordered it with the prosciutto and it may be one of the best meals I've had in Hawaii. The zucchini is done two ways in it: diced to be mixed in with the risotto and thinly sliced and grilled on top of the risotto. The panko crumbs on top really solidified the plate for me as top tier as risotto can get to be boring to eat after a few bites as they can lack texture, but not this risotto! Every bite was a journey and it was a very filling meal. My husband ordered the Korean steak and said it was better than some of the local steakhouses we had gone to. Our friend ordered the spaghetti carbonara and enjoyed it as well. Dessert: We were encouraged to try the Rocky Road ice cream and decided it was a must have when you visit. It was creamy, rich and delectable. We also opted to try the dessert special of the evening which was a Lilikoi cheesecake with a chocolate mousse. The cheesecake had a sour tang to it and the chocolate mousse partner with it to balance it out so it wasn't overly sweet. We loved it and I know in a few days we'll be craving this meal all over again!

France meets Italy - meets Hawaii. I'm still dreaming of this. The burger features a thick, juicy, 8-ounce grass-fed patty made from a custom house-selected blend of short rib, chuck roast, and brisket. Get it with the crispy potatoes. You will thank me. Risotto on point. Luxuriously rich, creamy texture. The rice retains a slight al dente bite in the center, giving it structure rather than letting it become mushy. Prosciutto adds a perfect salty, savory crunch to break up the rich risotto. The only misstep was the fries served with the quinoa burger. They were chalky, served at room temperature, limp, and underseasoned. Excellent friendly informal service. Park at the municipal parking on Bethel St just 1/2 block away. Happy Eating!!

She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. The smoked octopus was sliced in pieces that were too thick and a little too chewy and the andouille sausage and black pepper overpowered the dish. Ordered the bourbon and bone marrow mostly for the presentation. It was WAAAY too rich and needed more bread to go with it. They should've served it with bread that wasn't buttered because the buttered bread even though tasty by itself was just too rich in combination with all of that bone marrow. The dish needed more balance. The ice cream sundae was unremarkable. Would have preferred it served with a choice of hot fudge or the caramel drizzle and since it was plain vanilla ice cream they could've drizzled a lot more caramel over it. The waitress did bring us more nuts when we asked, but they were busy at the time and she was the only server so it took her a while to get to us, and the ice cream was pretty melted by the time she delivered. We got there when they opened at 5 PM and they had two servers at that time. The place wasn't busy so it seemed like they had enough help for the amount of tables that were being seated. An hour and a half later, though, one server was missing (possibly taking a lunch break) and the only server remaining at several big parties to take care of which slowed down her responsiveness to the other smaller tables like ours. The music playing in the background seemed to fit the environment and was pleasant to listen to. It's a pretty casual atmosphere. The prices for what you get are a bit on the high end. Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else is paying. We didn't feel too bad this time because we had a gift certificate which covered most of our bill. Maybe we were choosing all the wrong items and should have just stuck to ordering meat dishes, which they might be better at making (with a name like Livestock). You'll have to check this place out yourself and see if they do a better job with meat and if the prices for those dishes are more reasonable. I gave this place four stars instead of three because the servers were friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was mostly okay (tasty enough and filling).

I'd never been to their other locations, so this was my first experience -- and honestly, it left an impression. That spot in Kapolei has seen a few restaurants come and go over the years. Before Scratch Kitchen, there was Sugar Cane, and if I reach far enough back, I'm pretty sure a Mexican restaurant lived there too. It's one of those spaces where you hope the next place finally sticks. But the food at Scratch Kitchen? Absolutely delicious. The kind of meal where the pictures alone make your mouth water. If "smell‑a‑vision" or "lick‑your‑screen" technology existed, everyone would understand exactly what I mean. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully done, and perfect for a Mother's Day treat. Which is why I can't help but wonder what happened -- like so many restaurants before them in that same location. With food that good, you'd hope they'd be the ones to break the cycle. All in all, I'm grateful I got to enjoy that meal with my daughter. It was memorable, delicious, and one of those small moments you hold onto. Marie

Either way, it made for a super relaxed experience with no wait and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the food. Loved: The street tacos with the tempura shrimp were easily the star of the meal. 100% worth it. Light, crispy shrimp with a flavorful slaw and just the right amount of heat--basically a flavor party in every bite. The burger was another quiet star. Juicy patties, nicely seasoned, and stacked just right. Nothing super flashy, but really satisfying. Definitely a good pick if you're not in the mood for brunchy stuff. The Miss: Tried the French toast and... meh. It looked great on the plate but tasted dry and definitely didn't live up to the level of the other dishes. Might've just been an off day or a matter of personal taste, but I'd skip it next time.

The pastries were just okay; we tried a few cake slices that were fine but unremarkable. The cinnamon roll was dry and hard, the malasadas were forgettable, and the haupia-filled malasada was surprisingly tart. It's possible some ingredients were locally sourced and just unfamiliar to our mainland palates, or maybe we simply caught them on an off day. The servers were curt but friendly, likely because the place was packed with tourists.

It was so sad this business is closing down by Oct 31st. With rising food costs, inflation and…read morestaffing, it's understandable but I wish best endeavors for Chef Jason Peel and his staff. My fiance won a gift card actually 2 of them (from his coworker whom could not get a reservation secured), we knew we had to make the trip over before they officially close. We had multiple dishes, but staff made Kauai prawns and tomato miso black cod dishes on the house since they ran out the Hokkaido scallops. We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor. Both me and my fiance liked the lukki lemon dessert, like lemon meringue pie but broken down version. If you have a chance to dine here before closing and got a reservation, definitely will have a lovely dining experience and your stomach will be full by end of the night.

We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.
