Not rude either, just want to get you done so they can move in to the next in their long line. They do enough business that making one person mad won't effect their bottom line, however in my experience if you are patient and willing to wait your turn and not rude to them, you will get a wonderful bakery item and probably something you did not plan on as well! I felt the cake vs frosting topping was just right. I could eat this every morning with my coffee. It might be my new favorite thing. Service was great. The lovely lady took time to explain the products and answer all my questions. They didn't have a tip jar (or one that's labeled tip jar) so I handed her the tip. How lovely is that??!! No tip jar!!! In this day and age...there is a tip jar for the tip jar. Everyone has their hand out for a tip so it was nice for once to not see the tip jar. GIVE A TIP ANYWAY!! I've been going to Federhoffers for years. Always good products and great friendly service. My company usually gets a couple boxes for our sales meetings, always good. A few weeks ago, I got a half dozen creme horns and found 2 empty - just the shells. Mistakes happen. I was assured over the phone it's no problem for next time I came in. Yesterday, I told them about it and the young lady just said, "That's strange" as if I was lying. No apology for the defective product. No offer to make it right. I guess I'm used to the old days when people had business sense, people skills, and wanted their business to have a good reputation. The grocery store has the same products now, and it's closer anyway. I give up. Customer skills are gone forever. Loyalty means nothing. And the grocery store bakery is cheaper anyway. I am so fortunate to live near them and able to easily pick up tasty treats. I have also ordered from them for special events. I always get the sliced bread but Monday I stopped in to get a loaf then got home and noticed that they have made the loaf so small you need to make two sandwiches to equal one. The slices are actually smaller than a slice of bunny bread sandwich bread. Federhofer's QUIT robbing your customers to make another dime. I will go to walmart or schucks for now on better value for my money. Your prices have gone up and your quality is WAY DOWN.
