    Federicos in Hanalei!

A Mexican food restaurant in Hanalei! Wow! Anyway, my wife and our sister-in-law wanted fish tacos so they ordered that here. The food took a long time to prepare as they had to prepare it fresh. The process took longer than I thought but my wife said that it was worth it. The fish was fresh and the 2 tacos that came in the order was filling enough. The restaurant sits along Route 560 in the middle of Hanalei. It's popular because most of the other restaurants close too early to accommodate the tourists who come around after laying on the beach all day. Overall, it's a good place to have a good meal!

If you're looking for some good food to bring to the beach, this place definitely hit the spot!! Service was fast and prompt, and all boxed up to bring to the beach!! They have good seating inside and out if you want to stay and eat. The burrito was tasty and huge! Perfect to snack on throughout the beach day!!!

The wait is horrendous but they have great happy music to entertain the hungry crowd. I had the Seafood Flautas plus a large soda, total was under $20.00 dollars. They served me cold rice and very cold beans, the flauta was ok nothing extraordinary. The wait is long so by the time you get your food 1/2 of your drink is gone and they do charge for a refill. I'm not saying the food was terrible, but it was definitely not worth 38 minutes for lunch!

Filling and fairly fast. The veggie options lacked the same good flavor as meat options. We supplemented with our own hot sauce.

We got some tacos and was able to sit at the picnic tables outside and people watch! Such a relaxing and great experience. The tacos were good and full of toppings. The fish is cut on and grilled. We also had a quesadilla that was tasty and we would visit again. Thanks for the experience Hanalei! Order takers were friendly. More of a take and go place with scattered picnic tables.

My hubbie and I agreed this was surprisingly one of our favorite meals on the island. We ordered the shrimp flautas and they were sooo stinking good. It's fried so well and has a great flavor! It comes with a side of rice and beans as well so it's quite filling. The line to order can get a little long, but moved quickly and food came out faster than typical island time ya know what I mean?

Stopped by for lunch. The burrito was good but leaked too much. Decent selection of options.

We came here for dinner because of the reviews. I was sadly disappointed. I tried both of there fish tacos. They were over cooked and dry.

Indulge Your Taste Buds at the Newly Reimagined Hanalei Gourmet!…read more Tonight, we decided to check out the newly reopened Hanalei Gourmet, and what a fantastic experience! Under brand-new management as of just two weeks ago, this location has taken a completely fresh approach. Don't be misled by older Yelp reviews attached to the previous incarnation; the new team has introduced an open, airy atmosphere and a elevated menu centered around fresh, high-quality ingredients. A quick heads-up for prospective diners: they are still in the process of finalizing their liquor license. However, they make BYOB seamless! You can easily grab a bottle across the street at the market or down the road at the liquor store , and the staff will gladly set you up at the table for a very reasonable $5-per-person corkage fee. We picked up a bottle of Joel Gott Chardonnay nearby, which paired beautifully with our meal. As for the food, the presentation and taste were outstanding: Catch of the Day (Marlin): Macadamia-crusted to perfection and served with a subtle, light curry sauce, accompanied by fresh vegetables and rice. Perfectly cooked and full of tropical flavor. Chicken & Vegetable Soup: A rich, comforting bowl packed with fresh veggies, served alongside a warm, crusty roll. The new management has truly transformed this space into a bright, welcoming spot. Five stars all around--we will definitely be returning! the liquor store across the street. Our waiter, Josh, was amazing. We talked through the menu before we ordered and he told us about every dish that was on the menu not only did he provide a great review of the dishes before we ordered, but he actually inspired us to try the catch of the day as he had seen the fish brought in that morning from the ocean. He was a very good server, constantly checking on us making sure that our water glasses were full and that we were having a good dining experience.

Hanalei Gourmet is back under new ownership, and we had such a great early dinner!…read more We started with the artichoke dip, and OMG. To die for. Hot, cheesy, delicious, and served with fresh-baked bread AND tortilla chips. I had the Big Tim's Burger, medium rare, and it was cooked absolutely perfectly. Juicy, flavorful, with crispy fries on the side. Jake went for the Dewey's Burger with Gorgonzola and sweet caramelized onions and loved it. They're currently BYOB, but do not sleep on the mocktails. WOW. They're so good you might forget you wanted alcohol in the first place. And a huge shout-out to Chloe, the OG bartender. She gets it done and always with a smile. Really makes for a 5-star experience So happy to see this Hanalei institution open again. Great food, fresh vibe, great people. We'll definitely be back!

Wow! So sad we waited so long to try this place during our stay in Hanalei…read more Let's just rate it already. 10/10. Absolutely amazing. Good was some of the best I've ever had. The Churro French Toast is life changing. Full order can easily feed 3-4 people. Crispy, sweet, yet soft and tasty inside. Best description is a combination of a churro, mixed with a cinnamon roll, mixed with a donut. Would highly recommend. They offer a half portion too which is great for 2 people to share. The breakfast burritos are legit. Massive, tasty, delicious, and filling. About the same size and width as a 32oz Yeti bottle. Ordered the veggie burrito with bacon and the Smoked Pork burrito. Loved both. Tots, veggies, cheese, meat, all loaded. Even the salsas were 10/10. Seating is limited, maybe enough for 8-10 people total to sit inside, but they take to go orders and you can walk 5 minutes to Hanalei beach and eat by the ocean. TLDR - Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious and such a beautiful experience!…read more We had the Garlic Shrimp and the Churros French Toast, and both were incredible! Let me tell you the garlic shrimp was amazing! The shrimp was cooked to perfection: juicy, tender, and coated in the most delicious garlic sauce. Every bite was so flavorful! The Churros French Toast was actually one of the reasons we came here because it's so popular, and it absolutely did not disappoint! It looks like it would be super sweet, but surprisingly, it's not. It's perfectly crunchy on the outside, moist in the middle, and just the right amount of sweetness. So delicious! And to top it all off, you get to enjoy this fantastic food with a beautiful Kauai view. Overall, such a wonderful experience. If you're visiting Kauai, I highly recommend putting Wake Up Delicious on your list you won't be disappointed!

The Hanalei hummus was good served w/ nori rice crackers & lettuce. The crispy leek salad with soba noodles was tasty. And the raw fish served with peppers and pineapple had a nice spicy, fresh flavor. For dinner we had: Lamb which was decent. Not as good as Bar Acuda's lamb. The Wagyu beef was good and the fresh swordfish was nicely done. The risotto with tomatillo sauce & ricotta was delicious. For dessert we tried the Greek yogurt cheesecake. It was okay. Out of all the cheesecakes we tried over the last 2 weeks, this was the least favorite. We will definitely come back next year. It was easier to get a reservation calling the restaurant directly than trying to from online.

You couldn't taste the herbs and the olive tapenade didn't go at all. The meat was not of highest quality. The coffee ice cream pie also missed the mark. The coffee flavor was missing completely and the microgreens did not belong there. The texture was icy and hard instead of creamy and chewy. Also it was my birthday and they did nothing to acknowledge that. The service was unprofessional. I don't recommend.
